great video. when i was younger(teenager) and i wpuld compete in tkd tournaments i often had outer body experiences and it felt as if i was watching and directing my body from above. hearing you talk about the meditation and seeing from above made me remember them experiences
Thanks a lot for this, recently, after watching one of your bag work videos I started thinking about how I'm not great at visualizing things and have been wondering about how I can improve myself in that regard.
As maybe a symptom of being a visual artist, I often imagine techniques as an observer rather than a participant - like if I do a particular strike or throw, I'll see it in my head from the outside. This is significantly less helpful than the concept you've gone into here of "feelmages" which I hadn't ever considered but when you said it I knew exactly what you meant. Knowing how it FEELS to perform, say, a solid jab or a hip throw is so much more useful to reproducing it than knowing how it LOOKS. What I chase when trying to perform the technique is the feeling, not the image. Interestingly, attempting to adjust my visualization to a first person perspective (what does it look like when I see my hands getting the right grip, etc) isn't nearly as helpful as chasing the feeling, I think because every situation is going to be different and every opponent is going to be different.
also ive been training lots recently and a couple of weeks ago i found myself in like a flow state where i wasnt visualising if i would kick or punch, everything was just flowing naturally and it wasnt until i stopped training that i realised that that specific workout felt different. i think it happens when i train for longer durations, usually towards the end of the sessions. you have a great channel btw

It's pure gold for an aphantasiac
This (as often in this channel, but in a specific way because this subject is quite difficult to articulate) is very clear and useful, thank you.
