The town underwent a huge post war transformation. The tenement communities of Airbles, Windmillhill, Glencairn, Coursington, Flemington and Merry Street bulldozed to make way for masonettes and high rise blocks.

This is where my late mother was born in 1952..Lived at number 28 coursington road before moving to the pather in wishaw..(Rannoch drive.)...Rosemary Lauchlan was her name.
