i happened upon this by chance, i'm from a well known New Stevenston family, The McNallys, there were fifteen of us, my mum died in 1977. I worked in the Cosy Cafe in the 70's best time of my life, the pictures don't show the previous beauty, any one out there got photos of the Cafe, Mafaldas Baby Shop, The Hairdress' and Brunos ?
Those were the good old days,eh? St Pats N.S. v NS Public, nae contest,I think the Public won 2 games in the 10 years I was at St Pats. Noticed a few names on here,I was also from Wrangholm Dr,jings,we had the Underwoods, the Garbetts, the Devines, the Malones,The Armstrongs, the Millers, the Turleys, the Creekins, the Watsons roon the corner, the Boyles, the Taylors, sorry tae hear about Matt,a really good footballer. Loved getting 2 of the belt off big Fenwick in the winter,if he didn't heat yer hands up then old Kitty Glenn made sure of it.
And memories for me to, i was brought up in Quarry street in the late 1950s. Many thanks for putting the time and effort into this. By the way rgeoghegan, are you one of the ones that used to kick the crap out of us if we went the other side of the railway :-)
