When Arin went on his “ if I crumple up the plastic and place it inside” rant, I had VERY vivid flashback to “ IF I REMOVE MY UNDERWEAR FROM THE EQUATION” rant
They should just always throw a tarp down. Even if they aren't doing something you'd expect to be messy. Probably a good idea to have a dedicated tarp closet so you're always prepared
Vanessa actually acting like a school teacher is already my favourite part. Dan finishing before Arin and she lets him start on the next project/work so he has something to do is such an elementary teacher thing. Also when I did this in 7th grade we had to drop it from the second floor window, dang.
Arin tries his best but completely misses half the assignment (Venessa explaining to Dan that they need to make a device for two eggs as well) Also Arin doing complicated techniques while Dan just shoves stuff in a tube
3:12 a “Down With The Sickness” AND an “It’s Been A While” reference within ten seconds of each other, that’s gotta be some kind of record! I was hoping for a hat trick with “Voodoo” but sadly it didn’t happen.
I love that Arin really cares and is in huge concentration wanting this to work and Dan is more along for the ride. Dan doesn't really care about the project, taking "easy" ways out as opposed to doing rocket science like Arin. Its fun nonetheless, but i just like witnessing Arin's brain really working and evaluating the work he's doing
my school was weird because those cool science projects that everyone knows about did happen, but arbitrarily not for every class. It's very annoying to be in a classroom where the teacher points out all the cool student-made things on the shelves, but you never get to do that project.
Random trivia about the Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst Spider-Man upside down kiss: They've both said it was super cold and miserable filming that scene, Tobey especially since he was hanging upside down with blood rushing to his head...and also nearly suffocating since his mask was wet and super hard to breathe through.
In school ours were dropped from the top of the gym. We were only allowed to use napkins, plastic straws, and masking tape. Miraculously, at least half of the class' eggs survived.
If you did it as part of science Olympiad kids started getting so good at it that they actually had to make it much harder so what you would do ahead of time is figure out really good methods of protecting it and understand the physics behind protecting it and then when you got there they give you hardly any materials at all that you could use and you'd have to figure out how that was possible to be used to protect it because they would have taken a design that was minimalistic that they knew worked, taken it apart and giving it to you as raw pieces.
@@mirandacarrasquillo6391 Same!!!😂 I knew there had to be another sympathizer out there who knew what goes in to creating something like that. I hope the dinosaurs can be salvaged 🙏🏻💔

s/o whoever bought the vital farms eggs for this. not only are they the best/nicest for the chickens, eggs that you can buy, they’re also one of the most expensive.nice
This seems a lot more fun when your on a comedy show where your expected to fail and people laughing at you is a good thing, compared to a physics class and failure leads to further anxiety and stress when everyone laughs at you and you spend the next several nights hearing everyone’s laughter at you thinking you had a chance of doing something right for once. Or is that just me
I hope people are not sleeping on the Closed Captions in these videos, they are a great extra layer of funny on top of already unhinged hilariousness LUL
So glad you guys did this on an episode of the grumps!! Thanks grumps and crew! (As a goofy young physics/math nerd, this was my favorite experiment to helps kids with while putting in 'community service' for a scholarship! Again, ty!)
The 80s version of this that I endured was eggs had to survive a drop off the roof of the school. About 50 feet. It was a real crucible that let everyone know who had elite smarts. Few survived
The half-hearted "it's been a while" from the guys just warms my heart--these two have been working and playing together for so many years and their friendship is just so heartwarming!
I love how Arin put a lot of thought and effort into the first 2 and they failed, yet by the third one he went "eff it, slippers" and that's the only one that survived the yaoi paddle 😂😂😂
Was I the only one expecting Arin to try to eat one of the eggs? Also, who's bright idea saw this poor carpet that went through so much already and thought "you know what this needs? raw eggs. really brings together the room"
I remember doing this project in school! My team filled a tupperware container with popcorn, taped straws on the bottom to absorb shock, and used a bit of a plastic tablecloth to create a parachute. It was one of the most simple ones out off all the teams (the entire 7th grade of the school) and ours won
i am a 27year old man with zero children. i love grumps because their channel affected my cookies and made me get an "alcohol is poison" ad IMMEDIATELY followed by some imitation of the "uh oh gotta go" toy ad

Or popcicle stick and hot glue bridge that had to hold the most amount of weight. But idk if i trust them with hot glue
I remember doing this in school. I also remember making 2 liter soda bottle rockets. There was also a weird time before school let out for the summer where my school certified all the students in a boater safety and operation course. So at one point, in like 8th grade, I was licensed for operating a boat. Public education is wild.
I remember in one of our science classes in midddle school I brought in my 3 foot tall model rocket. We all gathered around on the football field to watch, and as I launched it, one of the guide tubes broke. The rocket got stuck on the launcher, and melted a hole in the bottom plate. Luckily I had also brought a smaller rocket that launched perfectly.
