The Berbers are a diverse grouping of distinct ethnic groups indigenous to North Africa who predate the arrival of Arabs in the Arab migrations to the Maghreb. They often harassed Roman possessions in North Africa (back when they still had any of those). It was more of annoyance rather than actual threat though as they stuck to raiding rather than conquest (since the Berbers consisted of many different tribes rather than a unified state).
The Bedouin are nomadic Arab tribes who have historically inhabited the desert regions in the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa, the Levant, and Mesopotamia. The Bedouin originated in the Syrian Desert and Arabian Desert but spread across the rest of the Arab world in West Asia and North Africa after the spread of Islam.

Writing comments as the video goes, more to follow. On the topic of the muslim conquest:
You have to remember that at the time the Muslim conquest started both the Eastern Roman Empire and the Sassanid Empire were both severely weakened by the 30-year long war between themselves. They both were exhausted and in the case of the Sassanids, already embroiled in a devastating civil war which made them especially even more susceptible to the Muslim conquest. They were also very fortunate to have Khalid ibn al-Walid, possibly the most brilliant muslim commander in all of history whereas the Romans quickly lost their battle-hardened emperor Heraclius to old age and the Sassanids could offer only token resistence. This is not the only reasons why the Muslim conquest was so successful early on but major contributors to the final outcome.

Basically the muslims had major luck among other things ofc when they began their expansion as the two biggest enemies they had to fight had just fought each other to the brink of death and as such had no power to offer any substantial defense against the muslims. Even still at least Rome tried.

I played Basileios II in CK3 (albeit it was post Bulgarian Conquest), the threat of double sided war is REAL XD
The Fatimid will attack Antioch, then the Croatian will attack Belgrade, sometimes the Georgians & Armenians also attack. Pecheneg is always a reliable buffer and sometimes Allies if I have extra daughters to marry them into.

The Dnieper is in Ukraine and the Volga in Russia. The Volga didn't have a waterway that connected it to the black sea until 1952. (through a canal that connects the volga and don rivers) Another major river that the Vikings used to get to the black sea was the Don river, which is located west of the Volga river.

3:02 As Light and others have told you reasons to the fall of the Roman Empire were many and very numerous but one of the constant ones which has been going on for hundreds of years since the time of Sulla was the constant love it had for civil wars which constantly weakened itself. I mean imagine instead of focusing all your might on surviving or expanding you instead are often engulfed in civil wars devastating your country economically, militarily and so on as well as reducing the population and in result the amount of manpower you have. And even still this fucking empire lasted more than a thousand years. Nearly 1500-2000 if you count ALL OF ROMES existence from the monarchy to the republic then the empire.

Yes i understand the fact the Byzantines existed for so long is impressive considering the circumstances, but why did Rome prior to Sulla not have to deal with those same issues? Were they more capable Politicians or were the outside aggressors stronger in the later centuries of the Roman Empire?

@@McJibbin I mean before Sulla Rome was still a republic with strong institutions and the truth is the republic like Light explained about institutions had working institutions but by the time of Sulla and Caesar Rome became more and more corrupt. More and more common to see politicians fight between each other but at some point it just got so polarized that it actually led to rebellion from one side. This is exactly what happened for Caesar too if you remember from having conquered Gaul and being a part of the Triumvirate he worked with Pompey and Crassus but there was always differing opinions and other politicians that saw Caesar as a criminal for not giving over his legions at the decided date.
I am not an expert on your specific question but I would say broadly that the Roman republics institution were still strong enough for civil war to be averted and leadership never became too centralized. By the later republic people were cheating the system all over the place.

I've been conditioned/brainwashed by the dramatic music in part 3 which is always used as an outro by Bedtime Stories.
I couldn't help imagining an alien looking in the window and temporarily lost any ability to concentrate on the Bulgarians 😅
