@@denisestarr2314those actually work ok - I had one at my hog pen 30 double strokes filled a 5 gallon bucket and I did 30 gallons twice a day plus they had a creek . Not sure if you can hand pump a 150 ft well like that though. Mine was set 40 feet deep in 10 feet of water .
You kind of addressed this when you said that prepping is about preserving your current way of life as much as possible, but my golden rule of prepping is simply this: If you aren't already doing it, you aren't prepared to be doing it if the world changes. You don't need to be doing these things exclusively, but they should already be part of your routine. - Are you already gardening and growing some of your own food? - Are you cutting the grid/water connection for a few days to a week to test your backup systems? - Are you buying extra consumables like batteries, canned foods, toothpaste, salt, etc. every time you go to the store, even if you have plenty on hand? - Are you going on 5, 10, 15, or even 20+ mile hikes to test out your food prep, LBE, water gather, etc.? - Are you already charging your batteries primarily off of solar and wind generators? No one will ever be prepared enough, but to me, if you're not already doing it, you're not really prepared at all.
Get a good vacuum sealer, some 5 gal buckets and Omega lids for said buckets. Easy to grab and go or just keep them safe while stored and used at home. A piece of duct tape and a Sharpie easily identifies contents.
Omega lids are like 7 to 10 bucks a piece you can just get regular cheap 5-gallon buckets and get Ziploc style 5 gallon mylar bags that are at least 5 to 7 mil thick. A 50 lb bag of grain will fill 2 of them
As far as boots, Redwing 411's are god-tier. Water proof, 8" (ankle support), and I personally like the traction tred - but getting a resoled with something more luggy or with a heel is possible w/ them having a leather welt. My pair has been going strong for 5 years of constant wear, and the only thing they need done to them is a re-sole.
Those little packets of instant coffee will be extremely valuable. When you have nothing it’s crazy how a cup of coffee can be a morale booster. Even if they turn into a chunk of black tar they still dissolve in hot water. Small and weigh almost nothing.
I almost don't drink coffee but that didn't stop me from buying 40,000 of those packets of Starbucks when I found them being surplussed out at a penny apiece.
All the stuff uncle freedom is talking about is why there has to be a command structure for your group that implements discipline. This is why you would want to recruit someone with leadership and logistic skills into your group.
This one was fun to watch for reinforcement. I have a lifetime supply of ALL that stuff, hopefully enough for others as well. 200 toothbrushes? Yep, that too. Do I own a pair of $300 boots? No, but I have half a dozen pair of good overrun USGI boots in each o0f a dozen different sizes. Pants? Yeah, three dozen of my size and several dozen of each size ranging up and down. When you find yourself with hundreds of lighters you're getting to where you need to be.
Truthfully if you've eaten at a few food court Chinese joints you probably already have a taste for meow. Side note I was in college at 16 and my classmates and I went to the Montgomery mall for lunch. Whilst we were eating our food a health enforcement guy yelled out. "If you have food from friendly wok, please stop eating and return your food to the counter" they had a freezer full of skinned kitties 😸
Vacuum sealer, dehydrator and good canning supplies are good for prepping. A good canner will work if SHTF to store things. I’m a generalist when it comes to prepping. While I train with firearms often, I’m not as proficient as some people but I’m ahead of the game in food. Raising it, processing it, and storing it is my strong suit.
I cant find any videos of you actually training or using gear or testing theory. I mean i didn’t check them all, but even the ones with titles and thumbnails that make it seem like you are outside getting after it are actually just more vids of you sitting in a basement talking.
I do manual labor in a warehouse can't imagine what it will be like in a collapse. Burning a lot of calories but still maintaining fitness by working out 4-5 times a day.
Heat strokes are deadly. I had a severe heat stroke working for trimming service at 19yr old. Almost died, doctor said I had about half of a saline bag left. My supervisor was fishing while we were out cutting, put the fish in our drinking water.🤬
Regarding boots and other footwear: have enough to not wear the same shoe two days in a row if you can help it, maybe even enough to leave two days between wearing. Sweat will destroy your footwear quicker if you don’t let it air out.
For water we have tarps to collect it. Then we have multiple ways to filter it or treat it or heat it. We are starting out with roughly 30 days worth of water storage. Great points on food. I love canned chicken and tuna. Also, my wife is an amazing cook, I am beyond blessed. I need to get our back up bathroom out and use it for a few days to find the problems within that system ahead of time. I don't want to but I know I need to. I need to stock more of my wife's deodorant and feminine products. We have Tampons for a few months but we could trade those things for gold down the road. We need to get more propane tanks. We are currently rotating our seasoned wood we use to help heat our home. We need more green coffee beans stored away. These are just a few things we need to work on. Great video. Very thought provoking.

What people don't prep for is fires. In the summer or winter during a minimal drought fire can spread fast and destroy homes and outbuildings quickly, especially during a wrol event. I don't know how to fully prepare for that but it's something to think about.
Rica and Beans; the only two items that can sustain a human body together, yes you would want to get a variety of foods, but these two foods will sustain the human body with 98% of vitamins to keep it chuggin. Must have both together. Salute
Water: we live in the Great Lakes region, the largest basin of fresh water on planet Earth and we can't drink the tap water NOW!? Yes, we have set up ALL KINDS of catchment and filtration. ALL that stuff in the buckets requires a heat source, and WATER!? Great video.
I take issue with this.. it’s true on many points but here are the issues.. 1) the average person drinks less then 1 gallon a day.. yes that would change under these conditions and physical work however the need for salt it’s a bigger issue people don’t thing about.. 2) where you are right.. its much less about drinking water then it is having water for simple cooking needs.. 3) climate dependent for water it’s super easy in many climates to source water real time.. 4) what people don’t understand when they stick food and such.. the MRE is based on the bare essential calories to keep the immune system functioning.. this is why they used to be 1250 calories cause that is the min to keep the immune system working properly.. 2k calorie diet works if you are behind a desk all day.. the work you’ll be doing in this you’ll need at minimum 3500 calories a day to maintain energy and physical activities. 5) fuck the rice and beans.. stock black beans one of the most nutritious foods and cheap and easy to keep and with that keep in mind you need water to cook them unless you buy canned ones. Again going back to water.. you need more water to cook and clean your cooking stuff then you will drink.. 6) rice and pastas are super important cause they are cheap easy calories.. but in not way can they be all your calories.. that’s is what war prisoners get feed and why they are skin and bones when they come home.. Medical you are fucking spot on from contacts to everything else. Simple anti inflammatory Advil and oils be worth gold in this situation.. 7) you do need multi vitamin supplements.. things like liquid Iv are a no go.. it wrecks your digestive system.. you talked about tp.. woukd he 1000x worse if you taking stuff like that.. especially the gel performance versions.. you’ll be shitting your brains out which also dehydrates you in hours.. 7) big issue.. ammo is more important then mags.. if you need more then 1-2 mags to break contact then you already in a bad situation and likely dead.. you would be better off with 1 mag and 1000 rounds of ammo then 10 mags loaded an no extra ammo.. the only use for mags is different kits setup for different things.. 4 mags is plenty.. but you need ammo.. 8) boots are over rated there are shoes that outside ankle support are cheaper and better and last longer.. I still keep boots though won’t lie.. 9) writing things are a massive thing other don’t think about.. you got that one 100% no issues.. 10) you don’t need to dry the weather will do that.. that is wasted and extra things you don’t need.. 11) seasoning and basic things like Advil, laces etc that is valid.. and it’s not sexy.. 12) ok 50/50 I got you in this now that I’ve seen the entire video.. here is the thing.. I have 6 months of food per person for my family at 2500 calories a day.. half dehydrated half canned.. as for salts.. a good portion of that food is simple things like cup of noodles which is very high in sodium but also requires water to cook. The rest of it is canned chicken etc.. still high salt content in those packing materials we all our out when using.. seasoning is so under rated.. one can only no matter how hungry eat rice some many days so many times before the flavor needs to change even a little.. its why I advocate black beans over anything else in this area.. the calories to flavor to cost is the single best item one could have.. as for firearms. This is where having that $300 dagger pistol is trash. You need that $1200 pistol for the longevity.. same thing goes for that $600 psa rifle. Yeah it’s fine at the range but how long will it last in less than optimum situations? Spend the money for a premium pistol and rifle before adding more $300 options to your list. As for water I have a really hard time understanding the hat one as I live in Florida.. I need even in a dry Season but 50 gallons maybe worst case on standby for drinking, cooking cleaning etc.. drinking is less water then cooking and cleaning and if you don’t know this you need to go camping for a few days.. more important the. Any water, pistol, rifle, ammo stash, or food stash.. if you’ve ever done real camping for any leanings time with basic items.. it will take one person a full day of doing nothing but sourcing firewood just food cooking and such in a 70* ish climate.. as it gets colder etc you going to need more time more people etc.. as someone who goes out and tests things and concepts and such.. and living in florida I can 100% tell you it takes one teenage or adult person 8h of work per day just to keep a fire going all day and night. That said.. your money is better spent on methods to make that work easier and faster so other things can get done rather then how many mags or how many rounds of ammo or even how much food you have.. 13) as a father with 3 with young children.. a wife with a bad back.. etc.. I can tell you to go backpacking/camping I have to carry 120lbs on me at just 5/8 150lbs.. my wife has a 30lb pack.. mostly cleaning and cooking stuff. Kids all carry thier own personal items but other then my oldest can’t carry anything else.. and by personal I mean tp, a towel to dig a cat hole, a personal flashlight so they can shut in the dark, basic medical boo-boo kit.. basic to thier ability ese kit.. basic signaling devices etc.. they can’t carry anything else but the bare bare minimum.. I’m. Fit in knowledgeable and I can even with a pack the same weight if me transverse 8-10 miles a day with the family in adverse terrain. Most couldn’t walk 8 miles down the road with a 120lb ruck much less do it on realistic terrain cause they never tried.. and most of them that could never took the family out to see what they could do and what they could carry. The point is your reality is busted.. if any of this would be ever needed 99.6% if tou are not even remotely prepared. You’ve never made your 6yo throw on a 15lb pack and walk 8mike in the mountains etc.. you prob never even equipped them or taught them how to signal for help alone much less how to survive for a few days with the limited things they can carry.. Premise if this.. you never know what is broke till you actually do it.. no amount of stock like in weapons, armor, food, water or anything of that will mean shit if you are the only person in your household able to or knowledgeable enough to do it.. you have to actually go out in the real wild and actually put to use these things to understand how to lighten a pack. What is more important long term etc.. water is always number one. When we go camping/backpacking there is always one person responsible for sourcing water.. one person responsible for sourcing fire wood.. now we may share duty in this in a few world. In an unfeee world you’d need 2-3 people pulling security for one person to source water.. you’d need 1-2 people pulling security to source firewood.. The math doesn’t ever math if you actually go out and actually practice and do what you think needs to be done. Tbh a weapon and all that is the least concern.. hard enough to just get water and fire wood as is. I could be the best shot have the best rifle and all the best ammo.. that doesn’t help anyone in my family get more water or more firewood which is 100% necessary in any situation.
For survival purposes You can survive on 1-2 gallons of water a day Yes environment and activity can play a part in that equation However 1-2 gallons a day is sufficient If you’re stocking canned food, which you should be, there is also hydration in the canned food etc. Also, a man who carries 10-20 even up to 25 extra pounds will fare better than his skinner counterpart. Particularly in a scenario of caloric deficit. So long as he trains to strength and endurance. Nature has proven this not only with animals but humans as well We are not talking about grossly obese unhealthy individuals All should eat a clean diet That being said, stick to Whole Foods preferably proteins and vegetables Avoid sugar, processed food and starches When you are burning calories, if your primary carb intake is vegetables, your body will utilize the carbs in your bloodstream first ie the vegetables which have a very low glycemic index and then immediately switch over to your fat stores and that’s what you want Akin to a modified keto diet Yes absolutely to everything else you have in there I’m a 16 year fully disabled combat veteran, 18b, who also attended SERE training Peace brother ✌️🇺🇸
As a chubby fella who basically works outside in the summer, I can drink 3 gallons of water during a single shift and never piss once. Water is hella f'n important
Something else people overlook with water and rice and beans; YOU NEED WATER TO COOK YOUR RICE AND BEANS! Be sure to take that in to consideration when you're determining how much water you need every day.
Ive been prepping for years and one thing ive learned was that absolutely nothing has happened for me to use any of it. im at the point that i will never use any of it, sooooo im just going to the range and using up every bit of ammo i got and getting rid of guns that make no sense in having. And blah blah blah. im just tired of all this already.
I have several water storage systems. I grow my own fruit and veggies. I raise livestock. I have several ways to produce electricity. I am canning veggies as I am typing this comment.
Living in West Texas I average 2 gallons of water a day that’s without physical labor. Not to mention you’re gonna need alot more salt in your diet. I also average 8-10k calories a day doing manual labor.
I was talking with a guy last week who brought up how many calories he's prepped for that's what spawned this. He had no idea how many calories it really takes to high level hard work
Are you sure? I live in an off grid cabin in the middle of 10,000 inaccessible acres, between two cypress swamps. With two solar trackers, ibc totes to collect rainwater, a pitcher pump shallow well, cypress filtered water. More firearms and ammo than at least two branches combined, ham radio, FLIR, 360° motion sensors, a hinged section of my roof that acts as a gun door, Starlink, a lifetime supply of Ghirardelli salted caramels. Honestly man I think maybe YOU aren’t as prepared as you think 🤣😭
Yea are your walls bullet proof, have you dug even a small 3 inch wide 6 inch deep trench along the outside walls of your house to minimize grenade damage, what would only a single rpg do to your house what about even military drones that can just fire bomb your house etc etc etc your entire operation could be shut down for the price of 12 meals and a used car bubba
This is why I plan on asking and talking to the Amish community. If anyone is prepared and self sufficient it’s the Amish. They live this life everyday with the bare minimum. Everybody around them will falling off while they flourish.
I am basically preparing for economic collapse but if there is absolutely nothing no electricity or running water no food whatsoever I will very likely be dead within 6 months.
Ok now as far as all the meds hes talking about. multi vitamins would be on the top of the list. Anyone insulin dependent would be a goner. Now as far as blood pressure meds and a laundry list of others a lot of them would not be needed because people would not have access to junk food and garbage anymore. Prevention of small wounds that could become infected would be a big thing to be concerned about because people would be doing stupid shit to get themselves hurt.
Get a box of those TP tabs. Very small but good wipes that only require a splash of water. Also reference books on important survival skills and medical.
They are exceptional for high drain stuff and can be wired into battery banks, chargers etc. They are incredibly useful almost all of my flashlights use either 18650, 18350, or 21700
I'm only 37 but I'm stuck on Eliquis Rx-only blood thinners for life....a few days without, and I'll get DVTs, then strokes. I can only get 90 days of this essential-for-life medication at once. Also I'll need open heart surgery again sometime within the next 3 years to stay alive. For this reason, I don't bother much with prepping because I absolutely depend upon this Rx and associated medical care to stay alive. If I'm lucky enough to have weeks or even months of this medication on-hand when the balloon goes up, I'll use my remaining time to train family and friends and to give them all my gear. What do you think of this approach to my situation, Uncle Freedom?
JASE Medical,....you can get a yrs worth of prescription meds once a yr along with a suite of antibiotics,......start building a supply NOW. I was faced with a similar situation(not nearly as severe)yrs ago before there was JASE. I could NOT get more than a 90dy supply of my meds no matter how much I asked so I started breaking my 50mg tabs in half, taking 25mg/day and banking 25mg. Figured at my next blood workup they'd find one of two things,.......either 25mg/dy was sufficient and I could continue banking a dy per dy,.......or 25mg would be NOT sufficient, they'd up my prescription to 100mg tabs and I'd start breaking those in half and be back at 50mg/dy plus 50mg in the BANK. Seems I'm fine at 25mg/dy so I managed to store up a couple of yrs worth of 'half tabs' and now after two yrs worth of ordering the 50mg tabs from JASE I'm up to 8 yrs worth of my prescription meds IN THE BANK. No longer am I waking up with four tablets in a bottle and hoping I can get a refill on a weekend. Also stocking six different antibiotics now and have 100+ courses of each. When shtf I will be a walking pharmacy. Not sure why having what's needed to end a bunch of people seems sexier than having what's needed to save a bunch, but whatever. I think meds are sexy.
You can drink all the water you want but you better be able to replace the electrolytes your sweating out. There is water available everywhere the more important thing to know is how to purify water. More important than calorie intake is vitamin intake. Your body can get 40 percent of its calorie needs from your spare body fat.

Can somebody tell me how safe it is to drink water from like a city lake that might have runoff in it, or boat fuel or something? I have water filters and there’s lots of water around here, but is it poisonous with chemicals and such? If so can’t be fixed?
A city lake is likely to have dangerous levels of pesticide & fertilizers in it. You have to learn how to filter all your water post- SHTF. There's a ton of info online. Happy researching!
You need a Big Berkey with the additional secondary filter. The water should be treated with chlorine dioxide and then filtered through the Berkey. That is about the safest you can be!

Get a good vacuum sealer, some 5 gal buckets and Omega lids for said buckets. Easy to grab and go or just keep them safe while stored and used at home. A piece of duct tape and a Sharpie easily identifies contents.
I love my vacuum sealer it's an underutilized tool for sure

Regarding boots and other footwear: have enough to not wear the same shoe two days in a row if you can help it, maybe even enough to leave two days between wearing. Sweat will destroy your footwear quicker if you don’t let it air out.

What people don't prep for is fires. In the summer or winter during a minimal drought fire can spread fast and destroy homes and outbuildings quickly, especially during a wrol event. I don't know how to fully prepare for that but it's something to think about.

So I am screwed. But I am less screwed than people who have done nothing to prepare.
For survival purposes
You can survive on 1-2 gallons of water a day
Yes environment and activity can play a part in that equation
However 1-2 gallons a day is sufficient
If you’re stocking canned food, which you should be, there is also hydration in the canned food etc.
Also, a man who carries 10-20 even up to 25 extra pounds will fare better than his skinner counterpart. Particularly in a scenario of caloric deficit. So long as he trains to strength and endurance. Nature has proven this not only with animals but humans as well
We are not talking about grossly obese unhealthy individuals
All should eat a clean diet
That being said, stick to Whole Foods preferably proteins and vegetables
Avoid sugar, processed food and starches
When you are burning calories, if your primary carb intake is vegetables, your body will utilize the carbs in your bloodstream first ie the vegetables which have a very low glycemic index and then immediately switch over to your fat stores and that’s what you want
Akin to a modified keto diet
Yes absolutely to everything else you have in there

As a chubby fella who basically works outside in the summer, I can drink 3 gallons of water during a single shift and never piss once. Water is hella f'n important
And heavy as hell. I go through at minimum 1.5 gallons a day driving a police vehicle

More important than calorie intake is vitamin intake. Your body can get 40 percent of its calorie needs from your spare body fat.
