The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Incredible! One of the most highly anticipated & fun videos in the Ed Sullivan archives. As I mentioned in Nancy's other performance from this show, Nancy & Ed were both in the film this song is from. And how cool was it to see the primary star of the film (Marty Allen) appear at the end! Bravo Ed Sullivan channel!!!

This episode featured a look at the premiere of "Last of the Secret Agents" which apparently was a film starring the comedy team of Marty Allen and Steve Rossi (they did a routine on this show and that was Allen doing a cameo at the end of the song). This must have been the theme song for the film. This was the same show on which Nancy sang "Let It Be Me" posted earlier. Also featured on this show was Mrs. Miller, known for her novelty off-key recordings of contemporary hits, singing "These Boots are Made for Walking", "A Lover's Concerto", "A Hard Day's Night" and "Downtown".

The Good Guys International group surely would have been interested in getting that Statue of Liberty back, and placing it back down there in Manhattan. That was fun, but really could have used some "spy" back-up dancers in black latex coats. Nancy seemed all alone on that set.
This silly song is strangely similar to the mega-hit "These boots were made for walkin," a release which came only a few months later, and launched Nancy into hyperhipness.

It's like a 2 minute action movie. And you get a hot chick and a song to go with it.
After hearing this song a few years ago I searched for the movie it was from, and was very unimpressed to see how incredibly cheap and low-budget it was when I found it on UA-cam.
Nancy is beautiful and stylish as ever, although this is certainly not one of her best songs.
I must admit I'd never heard of the movie 'Last Of The Secret Agents?' before. I guess it may be similar to the 1965 British espionage spoof 'The Intelligence Men', starring the two comedians Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise (Morecambe & Wise).
It was cute to see here - I've had the recorded version by her for years - no, it's not her greatest song I do agree but she puts it over well -
Used to see "LOTSA" on the CBS Late Movie and it was not bad: the song was the best part of it. Those 2 nutty dudes did make Inspector Clouseau look like James Bond. RIP Gentlemen.

Hmmm...I think she had a diverse following, young people related to her and older people didn't feel threatened by her - and that's a pretty healthy balance I think.
I assure you that "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" was very popular with the youngsters, I being one of them at the time.

No, that's not really fair - this particular song has kind of a "Boots made for walkin" kind of feel to it that's true but her other songs such as "You Only Live Twice", "Summer Wine" and "Something Stupid" don't sound alike at all -
