Thank you SO much! I haven't seen anyone else showing how to do this with the mull, and it's exactly what I need to fix a Bible for rebinding. Do you have a video showing how to apply the end sheet between the reattached signature and the mull?
This would be possible. It is a matter of cutting it apart and then consolidating those edges. You could use a whip stitch. Mostly it is just about creating new covers for both of the pieces. There are lots of bookbinding sites out there. I recommend ibookbinding.
Sophia, the existing mull in my bible, which oddly is cut to the exact width of the spine lies under a degraded piece of thicker paper (which is flaking off). Should I remove that thick paper to the best of my ability (without further loosening anything) and then apply a new piece of mull?
Very likely the mull continues on under the paste-down on each board and simply wore off at the hinge. Yes, remove paper and old mull and replace. Cheers!
Hi Natri, the glue I am using is Jade 403. It is an archival PVA (poly vinyl acetate). For more info on Glue vs Paste check out this free course on the subject. saveyourbooks.com/course/1-206-book-repair-glue-or-paste/

Thank you! My Bible is falling apart!
My friend wants to take her bible and separate it into two volumes. Do you have any suggestions on how to do this? 🤓

Sometimes this is the right thing to do. We will look at it during our Facetime lesson!

My Bible is starting to see a few pages separate from the binding. Should I simply glue back to the binding ..or.. ? All help appreciated ( :
Gluing them back in could be just the thing. You need less glue than you need, just a tiny line on the very edge. I will make a video on this soon.
What is mull?
My BTS photo book recently just loose its pages and I’m wondering how to fix that ~
What about when the pages are ripped from their other half?
It only takes a tiny bit of glue along the inner edge to reattach such pages. For more see saveyourbooks.com/
Yayyy! Thank you, Sophia :)
What is this glue please??
