The fact that no-hitting the Bad Apple bullet pattern is possible on the April Fools Harder Mode made by OceanBagel for Shayy thanks to a dream they had at one point that evolved into a full on tread is absolutely perfect. Now for Shayy to learn to no-hit it and do it in under and hour. ;)

So, let me get this straight:
Touhou is a game about dodging bullet patterns.
It went on to inspire two now famous fan works: Bad Apple and Undertale.
Now, these two have reconvened and themselves turned into a bullet pattern.
A bit incorrect, Undertale isn't fan work, it's another game, not related to touhou (it was inspired by it, however it's other project) bad apple is touhou fan work.
yeah undertale is unique but has some heavy inspirations its its own game and world and crap
bad apple is a remix of a touhou song and they made the mv too so its a fan work

Yeah, it really helps that as a great animation tool that is two-tone there has to be areas of black space or white space that you can stay in, since otherwise the video would be very busy

you can change soul mode by pressing C during battle,basically your soul is grey and take damage to white attack,but if you press C it turns to white and take damage to black attack but not white attack

well it took one hour on stream, but i've played the fight during the week. i actually only beat the first time 2 days before this. probably played an hour or two a day for the past week

You get on the Black part, and you don't get damaged.
Then you get on the White part, AND YOU STILL DON'T GEY DAMAGED???
I have no idea what hurts you there, can someone please explain?
(Nvm, you can switch which Colours that can hurt you)
You can see in the input display that they tap [C] to switch the soul colors, which i assume has a couple frames of invulnerability
If your soul is white, you can be on white, if your soul is black, you can be on black
When pressing [C] it switches your soul color making it so it goes from being able to touch black but not white to touching white but not black
Now try doing it without switching colors

How the hell does that bullet pattern work
Apparently every single frame of the video is a sprite.
the mod uses a color switch mechanic where you can swap the heart and you switch from taking no damage from black to taking no damage from white. It has a merciful brief invuln on swapping at least so its not insane to time.

Everything Hits You If Your Soul Is The Wrong Color
Pressing the C button changes the core of your soul from grey to white and back. If this color matches the color you’re on, you don’t take damage. Otherwise, you do.
A ganeplay mechanic of this mod is that you can hit a button at any time in battle to change if you get hit by white (attacks) or black (the background)

This is honestly the first time I actually listened to Bad Apple. I was just tired of it being spammed everywhere a few years ago so never actually listened to it. And now that I did listen to it got a video with Blue Monday playing appear and thought it was Bad Apple at first from listening to the song a single time (because they have the same beat at the beginning). Even though I heard Blue Monday much more times 🤣
