What a treat to see that again. I never realized what good musicians they were. And for some reason, we still laugh at Tom's fumbling. Thanks Brian, my brother and I had to sing that song at our parents' party, too.

First Smothers Brothers impersonation I ever saw. They nailed it.

RIP Tommy Smothers, who just a few days ago passed away in his beloved Sonoma County, California. I would see him occasionally as a guest at the Christmas show in the ice rink Charles Schulz built in 1969, known as Snoopy's Home Ice. There are beginnings and endings and all that happens in between.

Steve Allen was the very first host of the Tonight Show.
    Godspeed, Tommy, wherever you are.

But you do know that he had a show called "The Steve Allen Show" and this was a special episode of that show?

Indeed I do. One of my favorite gags was when he would ask the audience for nouns and verbs and include them in a skit. Very funny stuff.
Steve Allen had a very quick wit.
      So long ago.
      Happy new year!

@@emmgeevideo I remember. Steve was an absolute scream with his show too. I wished his show would have lasted - I remember Don Knotts, the man out in the street. Love him.

Great early clip of them. And listen to their harmony and ability to be together (like the Everly Bros and the Bee Gees, other brother groups). And watch how Tommy breaks away and yet can come back spot on. They'd begun performing in 1959 in San Fran.

Can you imagine how it was back then, when it wasn’t for TV, celebrity friends would actually have parties and their celebrity friends would actually entertain. Every house had a piano and they would stand or sit around and sing. What a time it was. I’m sure the Allen brothers have great stories to tell. In any case, I’ve been gobbling up every bit of Smothers Brothers I can find and this was such a treat to see Steve, Jayne, the Allen kids and Tom and Dick. Such memories. Steve’s laugh should have been trademarked!

Will you have the Steve Allen show from July 13, 1964? Antonio Carlos Jobim appears, we would love to hear his presentation

Their name was "Smothers" NOT "Smother's". Who do you know has an apostrophe in his name? What the hell is wrong with you?
