2018 VW Atlas Crash Test

The Volkswagen Atlas was introduced in the 2018 model year. The Atlas is derived from the Volkswagen Tiguan, redesigned for 2018, but is larger and heavier.
Structure
The driver space was maintained well, with maximum intrusion of the lower interior of 8 cm at the lower hinge pillar and footrest. Upper interior intrusion measured 4-7 cm at the hinge pillar and instrument panel.
Injury measures
Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Restraints and dummy kinematics
The dummy’s movement was well controlled. The dummy’s head loaded the frontal airbag, which stayed in front of the dummy until rebound. The side curtain airbag deployed and has sufficient forward coverage to protect the head from contact with side structure and outside objects.

Is not safe at all! An Atlas got t-boned in Toronto by Infiniti and killed the mother and 3 kids in car!

@@AndreiAndrei-rt4po yes that's unfortunate when a medium SUV gets hit with enough force no matter the type of car people can die. Its all about the accident type or events involved.Also out of the thousands that have been totaled that's the only one I've heard that involved a fatality. Thanks for the heads up. By the way a t bone in itself is one of the most fatal accidents that can happen. You have a right to an opinion.
