What an incredible studio Set Up... Luv it😁👍🏻 I used to transfer practically all types of ANALOG here in Montreal, but then all these idiots who started charging Basement prices and didn't give a crap about quality, screwed the client's. Sold all equipment, but kept my DVD Recorders, i have 4 of them and let's not forget the ole trustworthy BETAMAX 😛👍🏻
This is the first time I've heard of adapters without batteries. I've always come across adapters in good condition, and without rust (apparently, we're talking about those adapters from which the battery hasn't been removed for 30 years). But even such adapters started working for me after a little cleaning with alcohol. But this is a rare case - with rust.
I have the Panasonic DMR-ES35VS combo which I believe you have (or similar ones) and I did a bunch of transfers with it recently. Today I plugged it in and I'm getting F04 and F06 errors - the tape doesn't register, it says No Cassette and will not eject. I have to manually remove it from the inside. I don't know what to do - have you come across these issues and how do you fix it?
F06 is a stuck tape. Sounds like the tape mechanism is broken or jammed and it can’t advance and gets stuck. You’ll have to open the tape up and perform whatever surgery is required to fix it.

Yep there are some you can get to work once the corroded battery crust has been removed.
Can the Sony handycam 301 take any disc other than Sony disc? It’s so hard to find the actual disc nowadays.
Yes.

If you’re wanting to invest in nice equipment to do it yourself is there something better than Elgato?
