This video is an overview of the Valorant Game Changers Championship that happened in Berlin last week, including teams like G2 Gozen, Cloud9 White, Team Liquid Brazil and FENNEL, and players like mimi, katsumi, bob, mel, sonder and festival. Maybe these players will compete in Valorant Franchising, along with teams such as Sentinels, C9, LOUD, Global Esports, Paper Rex, ZETA Division, 100T and many more!

Editing this comment to answer a common question: why is there a female league, if there are no physical differences between men/women that should affect performance in esports?
The purpose of Game Changers is to create high-level completion for not only women, but all marginalized genders. Playing video games when you're young is much more normal for men than women, which results in an environment where other genders are looked down upon simply for playing (just take a look at some of these comments, or the comms in your ranked games). The level of play isn't always as high in Game Changers as it is in the main VCT circuit, yes, but the point of it existing is to give all genders top-level experience - so eventually the level of play does rise, and we won't need a separate GC scene. I hope this makes sense, and gives some more insight into why GC exists. If you've read this comment and still insist there's 'no point watching', I truly am sorry that you've missed out on a great tournament.
its going to be so exciting !!
The fact that you covered every single team and did justice to them is insane💕
Let's go!!!
mewmore is absolute goat btw based af
They should just embrace losing like LCS North America. The problem you describe seems like it should be addressed in youth leagues for all disadvantaged youths and where the talent pool is still high. It seems like the whole thing is a publicity stunt or an attempt to emulate other sports because they know it will at least generate some views.

@@carsynagen3525 I mean sure, but I think a lot of people misunderstood and thought they had no coach whatsoever. They did, and it was someone they had been working with throughout the tourney, even if it was not the main coach they usually take on the stage with them.
@@hailee176 it's not the same though. Keyword is "assistant" coach. Really not that difficult to grasp.
@@ccc34678 You’re not comprehending my point whatsoever. So if it’s not hard to grasp, why are you struggling? A lot of people thought they had no coach at all. They did have a coach, it just wasn’t the one they normally take on stage. “Assistant” coaches are still there coaching and working with the team and the main coach. Please quote me where I said it was the same.
I'm really amazed at how much Valorant has managed to contribute towards the female esports scene and the overall female gamer population in general. It's funny how "gamer girls" were so rare up until just a few years ago.
Now you practically get matched up with a female player in every other game.

I loved Valorant Game Changers Championship. Women's esports went from being a complete meme to being a legit form of esports entertainment. Game Changers even caught the attention of ESL which ended in them laucnching the GG For All series, which is basically the same concept for Counter-Strike, and even CSGO fans have agreed that the scene has completely changed.
Still think separating male and female in videogames makes no sence...
Male ego drives segregated sports competitions. Famous female chess players have been murdered for winning against men

For all the people commenting that “women are just bad” or “why can’t they all play in the same league”.
It’s about providing women the space and opportunity to play at a competitive level where they feel safe. They may not be good enough to play alongside the tier 1 male only teams right now but it’s about providing them a safe space to be able to develop, being salaried so they can put everything into Valorant and not have to work another job to pay bills and giving them the opportunity to have a competitive, structured scene so that one day there aren’t the boundaries of entry like there has been in the past

Amazing video as always
Honestly Riot's decision to bench the head coach for FINALS is absolutely appalling. Not only does it suck for Shoppify, but it's a MASSIVE insult to G2 Gozen because this win is always going to come with an asterisk attached to it.
Their biggest edge over SR was their mental and resilience (SR crashed HARD), which is exactly something the head coach is supposed to prop up and help their team with. Could G2 have beaten SR anyway? Probably, yeah. But SR had already exceeded all expectations to even get to this point, and it's an indisputable fact that they'd have performed better if they had their HC with them.
Riot ruined the integrity of the biggest Game Changers match of the year, over a single middle finger that not one person in the scene took issue with. Absolutely ridiculous.
but SR was 2-0 up and then they got a clean reverse sweep.
That is still the mental aspect if they couldn't close lol@@roza2631

Great video thanks for sharing, I don't play Valorant, but it's exciting to see a tournament like this get some actual funding, a proper broadcast, and deliver on showing an awesome event.
Riot banning SR Head Coach in the GRAND FINAL was a huuuuge L move... They could've really used him in the games when they were down, such unfortunate L from Riot.
It's unfortunate. As much as you might disagree with the call by riot, Robwiz is completely in the wrong. Him giving the middle finger wasn't necessarily that big of an issue, it's the fact he did it on the live broadcast. That type of inappropriate behavior is never allowed on broadcasts like this. He could've just taken the win and celebrate with his team normally. No middle finger needed.
@@SalsaRimjob that’s true but it also screwed over the SR players because they would not have a coach for the gfs. They should have just fined him because riots punishment hurt the players even though they didn’t do anything wrong.

I loved this tournament and this recap was fun to watch.
I would love to see you make a video on why the two leagues are separated. I'd love to see some of these players picked up from the other orgs and tournaments. Mary, Sonder, Flowerful, etc.
theyre not separated. game changers exists as a way to provide a platform for women, who are overlooked in e sports. if they get picked up by any tier 1 teams theyd be allowed to play. it is simply that historically (and presently) they are not given the same opportunities as their male counterparts.
@@days.lee23 they are not good enough that’s all there is to it, not saying these players are not good enough because they are female. They are jut not good enough period. Insane aim is not everything, if it was every radiant player could go pro but that is not the case.
Not sure how franchising works with the women's side going forward but they weren't separated. No team of women got even close to qualifying for any major tournament, so it makes sense that Riot would put on a separate tournament for women to compete against each other. The other, worse option, would have been to give 1 or 2 women teams an auto-birth in the major tournaments that they couldnt qualify for. As a bit of feedback, I think it would be a good idea to occasionally show the larger tournament tree. If you are not too familiar with the teams, it becomes a little confusing to keep track of what bracket the game you are talking about is in.

the amount of sexism in the chat was appalling 🤦
whats sexist is that women can play in the mens league but the other way around its not allowed. Its esports, so biological advantages don't play a role like they do in normal sports.
@@schneestern3022 they were just given a platform to play when pro gaming has always been a male dominated field. it was just a fun way to show a female dominated tournament. why they splitting esports into mens and womens can someone explain its not like its physical sports right a little bit in the hand but clearly they can do that
All the tournaments are for all genders, except game changers. GC is only for women to get them into esports
I’d say it’s the popularity of the gaming community leaning more towards the male community therefore, there aren’t enough female rosters that could put up a fight. Actually, some female tier1 esports are able to play against tier 2 male.
game changers is made to show off marginalised genders performance, as orgs still wont pick them up
I don't think there is an actual rule (except for GC),in LoL there is a female player by the name of "Dangmoo" who played for LSB academy online and is a substitute for their Youth team as well but the fact is that she was the first ever female player to hit challenger in KR and I am sure that it is similar for other games as well, I am not saying that they are bad but that they don't actually try to compete because they probably don't have an interest in it
Honeslt didn't know rob-wiz was still around in Valorant, I remember playing against him when he was on Code7 in the early days of Valorant. It was cool to see this, thanks for the video :)
Great video. Also I love the Zinnia’s theme was in this. (oh shit wait It’s all pokémon music, nice.)
I've wanted to ask this question for a while, I'm just genuinely confused about something. I came from a smaller eSports community (TF2) and we had mix gender teams play at the top level. So when I found out that almost every major esport, including Valorant, had separate leagues for men and women I was confused. Is it to give more opportunities to more players? Can someone enlighten me?
Yea pretty much to give more people an opportunity to play competitively. The unfortunate truth is most teams are looking at ranked leaderboards for brand new talent players to add to teams. The people are the tippy top of the ranked leaderboards in the majority of games are guys, so that's why you're not really seeing any mixed teams. As long as a game can provide enough money to tournaments to allow full time players to make a living, I don't see any problem with 2 leagues. If the money is so little from splitting, it would suck to see people have to stop playing competitively because they're not making enough money. But riot has plenty of cash to throw around so it's all good.
I think the other reason they have separate tournaments for guys/girls is the competitive community gets a little bit over excited to see a girls team get stomped by guys team so they can make a complication video out of it. Not saying these top teams would get stomped, but I think it's safe to say it would be pretty consistently guys winning but who knows, we might see in the future.
Honestly feel like it's the whole woke agenda at work. Some people argue that this helps females get experience for high level play but new male players with no experience make it to the top through tier 2 tourneys and scrims, giving females their own league is absurd.

The one thing E-sport needs are sponsors. Even if it might seem kinda harsh banning the coach for a game for flipping the bird, if it brings more sponsors so that more female players can be on teams and there is enough money in it for them to actually play professionally as their job, I think it's a good thing. Furthermore, flipping of you opponent this openly in any other sport, tennis, basketball, football, would probably give the same consequences the coach got here.
