It's universal amongst old-school fans. (look at the likes your comment has!) And it can be bitter-sweet diving head-first into a pool of nostalgia. Hopefully, we'll both feel better after I give you this: /)
Dang it, everyone’s posting about how awesome the fandom was in like, 2013, whereas I finally gave in, watched the show, and became a brony last month. Why do I always seem to get into things once the “golden age” is over? I wish I could’ve been a part of this.
I got into the show about a year or so after this came out. I personally think now's a good time to get into it. Everything's calmed down and there isn't a bunch of drama and hooplah around it. The downside is that so many pony artists -whether music, drawings, or whatever else - have deleted a lot of their old content, which is honestly gutting. There was so much beautiful creativity that was wiped forever because of it. SGaP is a great example of that. But there's still a ton of amazing pony content to experience. Have fun going through it all and finding out why so many people are still in the fandom.
The fandom is still active and the core fans will always be there. There are still so many meetups happening and with the introduction of G5 there is still new content to explore. Although I think that it it will never reach the quality of G4. Hope you found your place in the fandom :)
@@drderrek Thanks :) Since making that comment I've been more active in the fandom and even managed to sell some art I made since I work with wood, so I feel like I've found a neat little niche in the fandom.
Sometimes when I close my eyes and relax as I listen to this, it feels like 2012 all over again. Hands down, the best track you've ever made for the fandom and a musical gem I know I'll keep with me for many years. I don't know if its nostalgia or what but your music is simply timeless to me. The soothingly upbeat melody and incredible vocal work make it so. Never stop being awesome Matt!
Same here. My first exposure to the fandom was some terrifying porn so I avoided all things pony until about 3-4 years ago when I got into some of the music and about 2 years I got really into the music and some of the fan stuff, and now for the last year I've gone full brony :3 I do feel kinda like I showed up to the party late, after everyone else is already drunk and half the cool kids have gone home :/
I tend not to rewatch episodes. I had forgotten that Applejack is insanely strong. She's like the Hulk out there. She's destroying stuff with bucks, she's jumping incredible distances, she's spitting all over the place, too. What happened to her? The last worthwhile thing I remember is that she wanted to go to the spa but then fixed the plumbing. That's... pretty lame after all that this video shows.
I mean, she stopped a falling boulder with just her hind legs in the season 7 finale, making it easily her biggest feat in the show. So I think she made up for that in spades.
I don't think any fandom, in the history of fandoms EVER, will come close the incredible content bronies made from 2011-2013. There's still excellent work being made today but during those 3 years EVERYBODY loved it. I don't feel that same passion like I used to and props to anyone who's still held onto that, I just don't see it as much anymore. Bronies for life
deathconceal1 probably because the awesome and freshness has worn off, its just another fave show now sadly, but I still like to think its awesome, to me its in the same category as shows such as Psych, Eureka, and Doctor Who, sorry if I make anyone mad, just comparing it to shows I like.
I can agree, i used to be a brony, and applejack was my favorite because shes like me a hardworking country person. This song isnt bad, and im not one for hoyse music
+One Only whoa man, you can't get out of the hose fandom now. have you seen those new self-coiling ones that never tangle? the flat ones that fill out when you turn on the tap? and don't even get me STARTED on the new sprinklers coming out.
Ah, I love seeing comments like this which can be so easily dated to some point in the fandom's history! It's like a little time capsule. I remember the ol' AJ's a background pony era. Glad she got better treatment as time went on.
I was only 8 when MLP FiM came out.. Now I'm in college and 20 years old, still loving this show. Thanks to this creator for making this amazing song, I used to listen to it all the time as a kid. It's really nostalgic for me and I can't listen without getting teary eyed. /)
Man it feels really weird being back here. I was a brony from 2011 - 2015 and honestly was a great time, mostly the period of 2011-2012 though. Crazy that's it's already been over a decade, god.
I remember first getting into the series when I was 14 and newly a freshman in HS (for context: I'm now 20, graduated HS in 2017, got a job, and living with some roomies) after a close friend told me to give it a chance. I remember thinking the show wouldn't be anything but a low quality, overly-girly cartoon. But after a night of watching the first season in one go, it became one of my top animated shows ever. I remember always going on this fan-backed site that was exclusively MLP related after school to look at all the cool fan-made content like art, fanfiction, and ESPECIALLY the music, hence why I'm even back here after all this time. I haven't really kept up with the show since I was 16/17 other than the occasional episode when im bored, i still have like 3 whole seasons to go through someday. I still like the show and am very thankful of the fact that it provided a then-depressed loner 14 year old me with joy whenever a new episode came out. Sorry for this long winded comment that no one's gonna read, i just see a lot of nostalgia comments, so I thought I'd toss in my personal experience and try to talk to some people that remember the MLP fandom's "golden years" so to speak. Would love to hear from y'all
Exact same times for me, I'm back reminiscing. I'm 21 now, left when I was 16 or 17, but this was such a huge light of positivity when I was an outcast 14 year old, lol.
I was there when it first came out, though, I wouldn't have been had my friend (I've known her since we were 6.) not invited me over to play Super Monkey Ball. After that, she had me and my brother gather around her hand-me-down computer and boot up Ye Olde UA-cam and watch the very first episode. I was 11 going on 12 at the time and the show had me enraptured instantly. Although, I will admit, I was skeptical at first when she told me what we were gonna watch. And even though I was VERY interested in the show, I acted nonchalant despite bursting at the seams with mirth. I'm pretty sure she could tell I liked it since she always put on the newest episode when I'd come over. It was a good and innocent time that I so dearly miss. But that is the past, I lived it and that's that. I'm 21 now, but I still come back from time to time. Between work, family (no, I'm not married), and being on the lookout for a girl to call my own, I've had precious little time to reminisce on the past and such. But even still, I enjoy these small moments of happiness. Helps keep me motivated when I feel like an effigy of Atlas (I ain't no slouch either.) ...I don't know where I'm going with this, but I suppose what I'm trying to say is that regardless of when you joined The Herd, you developed wonderful precious memories that are not only precious to you, but to me and all others of our fandom. We forged these memories together, as one. I remember the days when we as both individuals and as a community did wonderous things! From music to dress up/cosplay, we showed our pride and joy for the things we loved, even if or when we were shunned and scorned we continued to be as we were! ...I don't have much time left, since I have to get up early and go help my folks with some new and old furniture (it's about a 3-4 hour drive one way). ...So yeah, that's about it... I guess. Good day/afternoon/night brother. Much love. /) Formally, Alan Mechling.
My wife and I became Bronies between the first and second seasons. We used to watch and listen to all of the amazing music, art, fan-fics, and anything else that this amazing fandom created. I haven't watched any of these in quite a while, but it really takes me back to the early days of the show and the whole "Brony" experience. This is still one of the most amazing and creative pony videos that I have ever hear/seen. I wish they were still making stuff like this nowadays.
Man, looking back at this I didn't think this would be such a big part of my childhood, I did not have the same “cringe” negative experiences with the community as everyone else tbh, it was truly just wholesome meming. Dont regret this community in the slightest tbh.
Always great to come back every now and then and give it a listen....here I am almost 7 years later still doing my usual visit. This was what the fandom used to be, what I was a part of! Sadly times have come and gone, the fandom will never be as great as its early days were. Thanks for the fond memories, this song will always mean something to me and be a part of my childhood.
10 years ago, holy shit. It feels like simpler times, yet it feels like harder times. I'm sad they are over, but happy they happened. I'm at peace with it.
Not even in the fandom anymore but I keep coming back to this track, one of the first I remember being released, such a well made track, keep up the good work
I have listened to this daily for the past three days. Now I listen to it as a part of a fandom that lives beyond the show that birthed it. I've lost count to how many times I've teared up today, and this song brings it all to the surface again. God, I love this song.
Dear God, this song is 8 (EIGHT!) years old now! Look how far the show has come and how far we have come as a fandom. This is definitely an oldie but goodie within the fandom and a piece of brony history.
Damn looking at all of these comments is driving me crazy. I was jamming to this stuff as it was coming out and people are talking about just finding it years after I stopped having anything to do with the show. This is one obsession that still brings me back to look for these videos so many years after not watching the show.
I started watching this show in middle school. I got sick and had nothing else to do. My brain was dead, so this show was the only thing I thought I could handle. From there it developed into a treasure I loved, a community I adored, and years of amazing memories. That one little decision led me into some of the most creative years I have ever experienced. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Here's a cool way to hear a remix of this song: 1. Open this song in two separate windows. 2. Pause the first video at :33 3. Then start playing the other video. When it hits :41, immediately continue playing the paused video (the one at :33) It may take a few tries to get them perfectly in sync, but once they are it sounds really awesome! I cant believe its been 12 years already. I still remember the lyrics from how much i used to listen to it. Get it stuck in my head every so often, same with "Avast Fluttershy's Ass" song lol Listening to this makes everything feel ok again.
I remember when this was first released. I miss the old days of the fandom. I wish we still had creatives like the ones back then. They took something simple and spun gold.
Watching this during the last half of the final season in 2019 make it really hit home that this is it. I've stuck with the show since season 1, and enjoyed all 9 seasons. I might come back here and give this a listen once the final episode plays... If I can even see how to even type, that is... ;_;
So many memories. This is a treasure, and not just for the nostalgia. A masterfully created remix, catchy tune, professional level production quality. I love it and come here to enjoy it every now and then. Now. Eight years later.

anyone else struggling to watch this because the show is over and now anything from the early days make you cry?
just me? ok.
No me too. I swear one day this video will cause so much nostalgia to come to the surface that I will break into tears. Maybe in a couple more years
Nah, I've cried too awhile ago over this show's life. Most specifically because of "The Magic of Friendship Grows"..
@@theberrby6836 I cried last week waterfall tears of happiness 😊
It's universal amongst old-school fans. (look at the likes your comment has!)
And it can be bitter-sweet diving head-first into a pool of nostalgia.
Hopefully, we'll both feel better after I give you this:
/)
The nostalgia hurts, it really does - the song sounding sad and reflective doesn't help at all :'/
I feel you bro...
I agree just remembering those times and crying my eyes out like a bitch I miss it all so much those where very happy times for me
push me down a flight of emotional stairs why don't you
It does, come back and feel it again :'I
I can relate
The brony fandom had at least two "golden ages".
2011-2013 was the popularity golden age.
2015-2017 was the fan art quality golden age.
@@drderrek Thanks :) Since making that comment I've been more active in the fandom and even managed to sell some art I made since I work with wood, so I feel like I've found a neat little niche in the fandom.
Hah is it Funny that this is basically ME Right Now in 2024?
Sometimes when I close my eyes and relax as I listen to this, it feels like 2012 all over again. Hands down, the best track you've ever made for the fandom and a musical gem I know I'll keep with me for many years. I don't know if its nostalgia or what but your music is simply timeless to me. The soothingly upbeat melody and incredible vocal work make it so. Never stop being awesome Matt!
Well said.
even though the vocal work is done by the cast...
still great comment
It's been two years since I've first found this song. It's still fucking incredible.
Almost five years now.
Time flies by so quickly.
Same here. My first exposure to the fandom was some terrifying porn so I avoided all things pony until about 3-4 years ago when I got into some of the music and about 2 years I got really into the music and some of the fan stuff, and now for the last year I've gone full brony :3
I do feel kinda like I showed up to the party late, after everyone else is already drunk and half the cool kids have gone home :/
Arthas Menethil You have. You are very very late.
Mayde It's 6 Years Already (Sorry For Late This Comment)
EDIT: Because It Made From October 13, 2011 (2 Days Ago)
2018 is about to end and this song is still awesome
I tend not to rewatch episodes. I had forgotten that Applejack is insanely strong. She's like the Hulk out there. She's destroying stuff with bucks, she's jumping incredible distances, she's spitting all over the place, too. What happened to her? The last worthwhile thing I remember is that she wanted to go to the spa but then fixed the plumbing. That's... pretty lame after all that this video shows.
I mean, she stopped a falling boulder with just her hind legs in the season 7 finale, making it easily her biggest feat in the show. So I think she made up for that in spades.
That one episode came out 4 years ago?? Omg Literally can't fathom that-
@@Thebes342 That's true. She could've got her and the others mangled, think that contrast is important at the least
Did u guys see that kick on the finale tho-
@@avocad1shxx Ah what was the scene again? Can't remember
Bronies for life
deathconceal1 probably because the awesome and freshness has worn off, its just another fave show now sadly, but I still like to think its awesome, to me its in the same category as shows such as Psych, Eureka, and Doctor Who, sorry if I make anyone mad, just comparing it to shows I like.
wow it really makes me wish I was a brony sooner during that time period I almost could have been too......
The ONLY fandom I can compare to the brony fandom is the Warriors fandom. So many talented animators. ^^
Touhou's fandom though.
lol sure bud
I just want to go back
I can't believe I've claimed to be elegantly part of this amazing fandom for 7 years, and yet I've never even heard of this beauty!
Better late than never lol
Hotdamn this late but I won't blame you.
This is song is very popular the few years it existed then people don't really repost it much
It was the same for me with oodorato2
Was so happy. It was like discovering a lost episode from season 2.
Honestly, I think this is the best piece of music to come out of the community. Take a bow PinkiePieSwear.
This song has so much nostalgia now... The love has been doubled!!
He said, 8 years ago. How's the nostalgia going now? :,)
Just stopping by before youtube knocks out the comments to this one, too.
I'm not a brony, but goddamn it I can appreciate production value.
I can agree, i used to be a brony, and applejack was my favorite because shes like me a hardworking country person. This song isnt bad, and im not one for hoyse music
MrSwatABomb hoyse music???
@@oswaldsdepression1100 You gotta read it in a southern accent

I actually got out of the hose fandom somepoint before the equestria girls movie came out.
Only now retreading some old grounds.
+One Only Go back to it. It feels good. Trust me.
+One Only whoa man, you can't get out of the hose fandom now. have you seen those new self-coiling ones that never tangle? the flat ones that fill out when you turn on the tap? and don't even get me STARTED on the new sprinklers coming out.
Kairu Hakubi you deserve an applause xD
this song really captures the vibe of the early brony fandom
i'm so happy that this song exists. not only is a great song but it helps give Applejack more attention, which she deserves! :)

(\
0:55 I know this is intentional but I love how Applejack is stomping her hooves on the ground to the beat of the song.
Same when she kicks the pillows at 2:50
ahhh brings me back, love this shit

*"Don't cry because it's over smile because it happened."*
- _Dr Seuss._
Man it feels really weird being back here. I was a brony from 2011 - 2015 and honestly was a great time, mostly the period of 2011-2012 though. Crazy that's it's already been over a decade, god.
the beep bop boop 2:53 , the nostalgia is unreal with this song. i love mlp with my whole heart
Man looking at this now, the fandom has come a long way from 2010. This is the best of the best!
@@bunnyvenom888 I feel ya, buddy, I'll always secretly love this & a few select other songs from the fandom's hayday, always puts a smile on my face
Helps keep me motivated when I feel like an effigy of Atlas (I ain't no slouch either.)
...I don't know where I'm going with this, but I suppose what I'm trying to say is that regardless of when you joined The Herd, you developed wonderful precious memories that are not only precious to you, but to me and all others of our fandom.
Much love. /)
Formally, Alan Mechling.
@@alanmechling9822 Always appreciate hearing different perspectives about this stuff, thank you man ! Hope the drive goes/went well !
Oh man. I missed this song. I just literally got some serious feels here.
3rd song I listened to when I was new to the fandom.
First was "So Shy" By Sim Gretina and Second was Flutterwonder by Matt which led me to this song.
Same my friend :)
Atleast i can comment on this video on how good this and flutterwonder is.
Very pleasent to my ears :]
I never noticed how good the first two season's animation was
this remix is what got me into the show
Awesome!
im just curious, how many people found this remix from Sabersparks brony documentary
MrX626 Me!
Great
10 years ago, holy shit. It feels like simpler times, yet it feels like harder times. I'm sad they are over, but happy they happened. I'm at peace with it.
I wish more music sounded like this.
same here :(
Not even in the fandom anymore but I keep coming back to this track, one of the first I remember being released, such a well made track, keep up the good work
Dashing Chew I'm still in the fandom today and I miss these days. They were so good!
This was the start of the community being really creative, it was so amazing seeing a community flourish like this
AFTER YEARS! I'VE FINALLY FOUND IT!!
damn... Has it really been 11 years..
I remember listing to this when I was a little!..good memories
I can't believe it's been 10 years now
Dude made like 3 bangers then dipped
I can’t believe it has been 11 years. I attribute the greatest moments of my life to the early years of the fandom.
I miss this time. :(
+Clay schuss I know right :'(
+Bass Glaze oooh, it was favorite time
not the same as you heard it first time all joyful and happy. just nostalgia.
Same
Me too. :(
Damn looking at all of these comments is driving me crazy. I was jamming to this stuff as it was coming out and people are talking about just finding it years after I stopped having anything to do with the show. This is one obsession that still brings me back to look for these videos so many years after not watching the show.
wow man...the old fandom :')
I miss it!
+Nikolas Powell me too 😂😂
it's like gone for ever
i miss it so much ;-;
can you guys explain to me the difference? mlp and mlp music/remixes is still a thing?!
Some good old memories
this song brings me way back....
2:50 OMG that syncing with the pillows
SO GREAT
10 years, can't even believe this
Man, this is so perfect. Even after all these years I still love to come back once in a while and listen to this treasure.
Here's a cool way to hear a remix of this song:
1. Open this song in two separate windows.
2. Pause the first video at :33
3. Then start playing the other video. When it hits :41, immediately continue playing the paused video (the one at :33)
It may take a few tries to get them perfectly in sync, but once they are it sounds really awesome! I learned this from other youtubers and it's really a cool idea.
sounds incredible!
That’s called a delay bro take the song to fl studio and create it 👏🏾💯
Lovely music, always cheers me up, which is a rarity.

I cant believe its been 12 years already. I still remember the lyrics from how much i used to listen to it. Get it stuck in my head every so often, same with "Avast Fluttershy's Ass" song lol
Listening to this makes everything feel ok again.
I don't usually think of AppleJack as cute, but this video is just SO MUCH of her being adorable!
i agree with you
The Peanut Gallery wait till you see Apple Jewel
I remember when this was first released. I miss the old days of the fandom. I wish we still had creatives like the ones back then. They took something simple and spun gold.
The way people are doing their own Pogo-like mixes is absolutely stunning!!
Use to hear this song on repeat back when i was a Junior in High School. 12 years has gone so fast. Now im 30
Don't mind me, just unironically saving this to my music playlist 8 years later :D
11 years later and I still listen to this . I miss the old fandom .
It took me eight years to figure out the name of this song. Eight years.
you say it to me ten years xd
same with flutterwonder
Yay, the song is back! I thought I will have to delete it from my playlist after being N/A for so long
This does so much to bring AJ to life. This is definitely something I would have someone watch to get them into the show.
Matt R, you get an A+.
No matter how many times I listen to this song, there really are only 2 words to describe it, and those are "Just Fine"
Watching this during the last half of the final season in 2019 make it really hit home that this is it. I've stuck with the show since season 1, and enjoyed all 9 seasons. I might come back here and give this a listen once the final episode plays... If I can even see how to even type, that is... ;_;
this song has no right to bop this much
