The Outer Worlds is a first-person action role-playing game set in a world where megacorporations have started colonizing and terraforming planets far from Earth. The game takes place in the Halcyon system, where the player awakes from cryosleep, soon discovering that most of the passengers on their ship are still in hibernation. With a strong focus on roleplaying, the player is able to make choices that cause the plot to change as they progress through the game. The Outer Worlds features well-written dialogue and lore, with the various factions, planets, characters and their interactions bringing the world to life. The Outer Worlds is developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Take-Two Interactive's publishing label: Private Division.

Definitely went no companions on this build and took all the solo perks and swept through the final mission like butter. Crazy amazing build.
He does have a convincing argument for not going solo.
@master613 eh - flipside, this is basically THE build for supernova, sans companions.
Besides, companions kinda tend to let enemies know where you are... Little better when enemies don't even know where to look, as they don't move as much.
Not to mention, companions soaking up sots is great for every other build - done right, unnecessary here. The best build for lone wolf/supernova
Quick update. With the Gorgon update (the free patch, not the DLC quests), this character has EVEN MORE power. Taking Sneak to 150 means that every one-shot kill will not alert other characters. On top of that, the Quiet Weapon damage boost perk and the 10 point bonus to all skills for not recruiting companions is ENORMOUS. This may seriously be one of the most powerful builds in the game now.
quiet weapons perk is sadly fucked and only works for a few pistols
@@KeithElliott-zd8cx Is that new? I swear I tested it on PS4 when I posted the comment.
@subankai nah it's old, afaik, but might've gotten patched. Even then, the problem is the 2.5 limit - even with whisper working right, most weapons noise range is 30 m, so, with whisper would still be too loud
only a few energy weapons make the 25 noise range w/o whisper limitation.
You could also use the explorers hat with this build that gives you +1 perception and that would bring headshot/weakspot damage from 35% to 50%. And you can get that earlier than the eye patch.
When you get to late game the hunting rifle is not the best because the highest level you can get is 17 and because tinkering cost so much you'll be hard pressed to get it over level 26.
Once you get to level 23-24 buy a level 26 dead eye rifle II (or the pink slip unique dead eye rifle for about $7,500 at the gun shop in Byzantium) and tinker that to level 30 (because you can tinker up to 5 levels above your level) for a very low tinker cost and put the 6x scope mod on it for a better sniping option. Granted if you're someone that rushes through these games you might end the game by level 24-25 but if you're like me and do every side mission and all there is to do then you have to take into account that you'll hit level 29-30 before the credits.
I was waiting for the inevitable sniper build.
Jedi build? Plasma cutter, dialog, and dodge. sound interesting to anyone?
j wait for the mods brother
Zach Morro still works without em
Add the Marauder elite armor found on Monarch. It is the best armor for a melee build.
Even an arch blade would work bc of the staff sabers
It would if the game didn't update and then make my save files unloadable. Bunch of fuckin amateurs over at Obsidian. They need to learn to fuckin code.
Who says you can't do it all?
The sneaky sniper is easily one of the most convenient and deadly builds you can do. Maxed out Intelligence and Perception, at least 60 points into Inspiration, the Armor Master perk along with
Chimaera and Reed's Hat, with companions Vicar Max and Felix. You'll not just be a smooth talking, silver tongued devil you'll have plenty of skill points where there will be no lock or terminal you cannot bypass, but you'll make combat irrelevant.
Don't forget you can get the explorers hat for an extra perception point!
@@madscientistshusta I used it in an earlier run, but stopped equipping it when I realized the bonuses weren't all that worth wild. It's almost more of an aesthetic choice.
Like how I see most videos saying use A Nice Hat, when Reed's Hat gives better dialog bonuses.
I mixed this build and the gunslinger build to make a build similar to The Mando from the Mandalorian. He'll start off as a bit of a merc doing things for money but will ultimately side with Phineas Welles and any other groups against the Board he'll help his crew with their quests as well before doing so. He'll use Leaded armour, Hunting Rifle Ultra, The Vermin and that unique helmet from sublight all to fit the aesthetic
Her appearance reminded me of the protagonist from Death of the Outsider, and now I really want to make a pistolier/dagger assassin type.
A bit late to the party, but so glad to see you're doing vids for this game as well. Huge fan from FO4.
Same
Finally, been waiting a while for this. Edgewater, here I come again. For the fifth time.
Hahahahah this build is better without companions
@@pedrolucas_jp3793 Yeah you just gotta take a couple flaws so you can take the carry weight perks. Drug and Food Addictions are the most manageable imo... especially on supernova when you gotta feed yourself anyway and doubly so once you get the Harvester Perk cause at that point you just pop the inhaler whenever you need to get rid of the withdrawal penalties. Acrophobia and Physical Damage Weakness are goodies too... but more for the heavily armored bruiser than a sniper really. (last thing you need is a mantiqueen bearing down on your lightly-armored ass with a physical weakness, or for your fear of heights to kick in when you're perched on a clifftop sniping.)
I took Farsighted (melee skills -10) and the elemental dmg flaws. Mantiqueens actually aren't a threat at all for a sniper (exposed frontal weakspot). It's the mega raptidons that are dangerous because of their fast charge, larger group and tendency to appear inside buildings.
That build looks great,
Here's some build ideas.
(Number 1 spot) Space Ranger (young texan/australian tracker and hunter, post military) , uses automatic assault rifle (plasma/ballistic) , shotgun, knife and explosives, tough and good at tracking, moderately charming.
(Number 2 spot) Pyro trooper, Flamer, launched and thrown explosives, inhumanly tough, relentles, man of few words, intimidaring.
(Number 3 spot) Komissar, 40k inspired, Bolter gun, Saber, comanding presence.
Space Marine: squad gunner, Total tank, can go well without companions.
DOOM Marine, Do i need to elaborate?
Predator: expert in Close quarters melee combat, stealth, energy and chemical weapons, eerily bright green eyes.
Terminator: Indominable, skilled with a shotgun, on point one liners, stone face.
(Nostalgia Build) Shotgun surgeon: self explanatory. A Medic who's handy with a shotgun.
Solo with a quiet muzzle, you can kill several enemies without alerting them, and, the unique sublight helm its fantastic for even if you bring companions, 10 % sneak attack from eye patch or 25% from the helmet (except against robots) All TTD duration and recharging Perks are also great for the build
His hunting rifle was lvl 22 vs the dead eye sniper at lvl 11
Right, there are only a handful of choices, unless you use a plasma rifle, but the projectiles are slow. I think the best end game rifle is the Dead Eye 2, which is item level 26.
@@lance134679 A tinkered hunting untra wins in raw damage per shot but the base lvl is 18 so the cost is prohibitive.
Why do people prefer the Dead Eye when Hunting Rifle does more damage?
@@Longknife because you can fire off 6 rounds without reloading you take a 10-15% dmg hit but get more shots.
Here's how I did it. I kept the one shot hunting with a super scope and corrosive mod for my first hit, then I'd instantly shift to a dead eye with their increase sight scope but ignores 15%armour or w/e with corrosive. Then I kept a plasma varient of the same setup as well a shotgun/heavy weapon like the montiague or w/e it was called
You can both upgrade the hunting rifle to have more shots though (9 iirc) and I honestly cannot remember a time I *needed* more than 6. It oneshots everything, so the clip-size is fine. Most enemies come in groups of 5.
Fudge muppet makes the most badass unique builds for any RPG nobody can ever change my mind
YES! Thank you so much I've been trying to make a stealth sniper build and couldn't figure out how to start thank you so much for this it has helped a lot.
You always put these out just as I'm about to start another playthrough. Excellent timing.
you can get a unique hunting rifle early game that has a wicked good zoom with the scope
Yeah I picked that off of Grace right before arriving to the botanical labs, awesome sniper, that zoom is crazy good!
I can't bring myself to kill her most of the time and just live with my inferior hunting rifle.
As soon as I turn in her Zoe quest, I off her for that rifle. Great sniper rifle until around d lvl 12 if you upgrade it 4 times or so
Wish I knew where to get it
@@Fallen_Gremory well did you figure it out
I hate how you can’t do anything after the last mission I’ve got all these builds and I can’t use them anymore
hopefully dlc will be soon i feel the same way lol made a few build guides myself but after the end of the game they are pointless
Bacon Bitz yea I hate that too that’s why I just saved right before the end so I could go back if I want to
That's what I hated about fallout 3 and new Vegas
Joker I was gonna try fallout 3 but now it kinda ruined it for me
@@baconbitz7804 yeah! I'll just never beat the main mission on purpose
The Sublight Deadeye would be perfect for this build.
It's not as good as deadeye2
I wish there was more variety on the sniper rifles
Just FYI the easiest place to get a hunting rifle is in the Botanical Garden under a bed in one of the rooms.
I found one in a vending machine at the Edgewater landing pad.
You must be thinking of a different game... Under the bed... Doesn't exist because the bed is on a metal frame that you can't search. So might want to get your shit straight before falsely giving advice
@@Fallen_Gremory Shut up. I swear people like to be assholes on the internet like it makes them cool. Maybe it was not a bed, and I miss-spoke but if you search all the rooms in the Botanical garden you will find a hunting rifles under something.
So, you are not smart enough to process information? If you determine it could not be a bed, then your only outcome is its another game? Even though I posted on a Outer Worlds video? You couldn't just search the rest of the village?
Maybe you should play the game yourself, rather than relying on random information on the internet.
@@DavionAngeles I searched every room and never found a rifle. What's your next excuse? It's not hard to mix up a bed with something else in this game... Barely anything else comes close to looking like it. It's funny how upset you get when someone calls you out on shit you get wrong... XD
This is my favorite build if you do a little ''tinkering'' you can also make this a sniper/charmer build which I think is the best since there is so many conversations to have.
Just started a new build That I call "The psychopath"
I'm going to follow the recommendations but equip one of my rifles with 6x scope mod for those special cases. You can buy this from the deserters. Build up rep by finding Zoe first to get it a bit cheaper before the eventual betrayal.
this is really useful, just got this game on sale and I love playing as a sneak sniper, love the roleplay stuff as well :)
Great build! I also got some ideas for a builds
Psychotic Hero: Good guy who takes down bad guys but doesn’t give a single fuck bout the risks, he uses heavy weapons and explosives and potentially 2-handed melee, he is like a super adrenaline junkie who believes he’s a superhero!
I'll be honest and say this is one build I have been waiting from you for a while, I'm glad to see it here at last.
I'd like to see an Iron Man-build sorta fing. Charisma and intelligence build with focus on making mad cash on the side. In his own words: “Genius, Playboy, Billionaire Philanthropist”.
I found myself naturally drawn to snipers and using shot guns for close range, like I tend to for these types of games. Just completed my first melee build with my Corporate Clod play through (strong, stupid and loyal to the board). Today I might start my Mad Scientist build trying all the Science Weapons and causing a real revolution.
This was my first build, there is a helmet that with give you a perception bonus (it's the explorers hat) it's a must for this build imo.
God I pray we get several dlc's!
where do you find this explorer’s hat?
You can get a sniper in the marauder camp near the unreliable, I think it’s to the east but don’t quote me on that
Does seem this build is a bit out of date thanks to the new expansion and skills go up to 150 now. Where stuff like Stealth kills no longer alerts enemies. Which makes this play style even more powerful with the idea of solo play.
I call this the Boom Headshot Boom Headshot Boom Headshot. My hands are shaking, but I'm still getting headshots 😂 I levelled one up and played this build it's really fun. Thank you🖤
Fudgemuppet builds are legendary. I really appreciate your content and I hope and pray you may continue making it.
Well done guys. I started a similar play through yesterday, this will help me shape the remainder!
This game worth it ? Was gonna get this or Star Wars , borderlands 3???
Jason dp To me it was and is. I can’t give you advice on which game to get, each person enjoys different things. I’ll say if you were a fan of New Vegas, this is for you.
This game really short?
Jason dp It’s not as long as what I would have liked, but with all the play styles you can change it up over several play throughs.
@@jasondp3546 it's like borderlands and fallout new Vegas mixed together
You guys WOULD release this after I just started my own Sniper build! I went basically down the same route as you guys did, but I choose to only bump up DEX to High by dropping STR and TEMP. I pictured her being cold but also knowing when to use that Silver Tongue to get ahead in the Corporate World. I too choose to make her a Board lackey. I also took a more Lone Wolf route to the build only relying on Companions as needed, and basically just for the Companion Quest (what's a Corporate Lackey Assassin without incredibly loyal Goons and Underlings of their own, after-all?). I also choose the Cashier profession thinking of her working day in and out faking a smile and trying to climb the corporate ladder, one day she gets robbed at her post at gunpoint and the company fines her for the damages. She takes it upon herself to steal and work for the more dastardly and seedy characters of the Underground to pay off those fines, ultimately deciding to take justice into her own hands and taking a rifle that was given to her from her father and sniping the thief after hunting down with her new network of information and informants. She twisted her mind to not find fault in the Company and, in fact, admired their strength and strong-arm. She will climb the corporate ladder and to do so she turned in her old fellows from the Underground. The Underground wanted her dead so she fled to the Hope.
With all that, just wanted to say thanks again for the great content! Love the builds and cannot wait to see more! Cheers!
I went with the deadeye ultra with fun times barrel and superscoper.
Of course after I just finish my stealth sniper playthrough! Lol
I'm confident I got the strongest sniper build so far. Haven't found anyone with a stronger build. Also a OP gear you can get for this build is called Cell Stability mono lens make weakspots and critical 25% more damage. Can one shot anything in the game
Honestly running fun times barrel isn't my choice. I run quiet muzzler so as to basically never get spotted and able to maintain sneak attack damage as well as using exacto-sight for armor penetration.
I am curious as to what build fudgemuppet would do on a character that sides with the board. *hint hint*
This build does if you watched the roleplaying portion
Which side makes no difference. All that matters is if you are going to fight, or pacifist, and fight style
@@mgangel2679 umm.. what? The whole point of an rpg is to roleplay, if you think gameplay is the only thing that matters your playing the wrong game
@@tartardealer7859 The build doesn't change with the side you take. If you roleplay on the side of the board or against. Felix is the closest to having a build option with extra damage to corporate troops. There are no player skills that favour either side. Roleplay is only a consideration in terms of matching you playstyle to your build. E.g. sniper build, melee build, stealth build etc. Which ever side you take the options are the same. Enemies vs stealth, or dialogue, or ballistics, or chemical, or energy. Side with the board, and a raptor is the same as if you sided against the board. Same goes for mechanicals, mantises, humans, in this game builds are only relevant to playstyle. Not sides.
Damn MG angel rlly put them down
At work now but definitely going to watch when I get home. Haven’t finished my first play through yet but I’m already excited for my second play throuh
I just did this and this is by far the best build IN MY OPINION.👍
Sniping in this game feels so good. Definitely worth it. Melee feels amazing too
Fwoosh! You now cannot stop noticing fudge inhaling during sentences.
With the peril on gorgon dlc there is a headgear piece which is even better than the eyepatch (cat eye something is the name) it gives +5 hacking and whopping 25% sneak attack damage instead of just 10% like the eyepatch :D
u can buy a hunting rifle from one of the machines on the landing pad near the guy who gives the "die robot" quest
I'm not too far into my game yet and was going for a sniper build. Think i'm gonna start over now ;)
So how was it bro?
Another good flaw to take is the falling one where you fall fro ma high place. It's literally a FREE perk point. I mean when have you ever had to fight someone high up?
The higher level version of the Assault Rifle is better than the Ultra Hunting Rifle. (Goes Hunting Rifle (basic) -> Assault Rifle (basic) -> Hunting Rifle Ultra -> Assault Rifle 2.0) It does higher raw damage and lets you add three mods. You can buy a version of one in Fallbrook if your rep with Sublight is high enough (called something like sublight sniper rifle), but you can actually buy a higher level generic Assault Rifle v2 in Byzantium that is cheaper to upgrade with tinker b/c it starts at higher level and can take three mods. Also the assault rifle has a faster rate of fire than Hunting Rifle.
Everybody's like companions no
Me with no friends: y tho
You actually don't have to fight those primals, especially if you have Cheetah. Just run into the cave, go into TTD to grab Ol' Reliable off the ground, then run away.
Make a bully build. Like a player that just completely owns all the competition.
My build was very similar, but on Supernova those one shot kills were not a guarantee. Made things difficult.
You guys should make a mad scientist build that utilizes the science weapons in a unique and effective way. btw huge fan :)
I kept my attributes the same in this build except +1 Charm and -1 Dexterity. I didn’t want the huge reputation hit because I’ll be stealing everything and the limited saves would be frustrating.
^playing on Supernova
Ah yes the classic Stealth Archer
Would the standard scope from the dead eye (+ 15% post armor damage) be better than the standard scope on the hunting rifle?
Also how would that work with the level 100 skill bonus that ignores armor on crit.? Free extra 15% damage?
The additional damage is good early on, but with the right skill point allocation you're ignoring armor altogether so it becomes moot.
Even down to role-playing, this is just like my character. Pretty crazy!
Except for the use of companions I can say the same, right down to the dirt farmer back story… get outa my head Scott 0_o
@@davidkelvon7936 I didn't use companions either (didn't want them to die as I was on Supernova, and it fit the character) but I did choose Janitor instead. Kind of as a reference to Prey: Mooncrash. Not a lot of people know about that though.
So I just boost intelligence and perception and leave everything else as average in case I need to get up close and personal with a long gun as because that penalty to movement is pretty bad
possibility the most over power build in the Outerworld...
I am probably going to play through supernova with this... maybe no companions because I couldn't bear to lose them D:
You can get a epic sniper rifle that has endless scope distance at the first planet your in at the beginning of the game
I basically had this build before watching this and lets just say.....very op hahaha
Bro you sould use the long ranger it’s found on the girls the entrance of the batanical lab you’ll have to kill her though it does more damage than the normal hunting sniper and it has a far range scope
Man, Peril on Gorgon kinda messed up all of these no companion builds with some of the new perks, especially the +10 in everything if you never recruited anyone at all, that's pretty huge. With that in mind, youd want to hold off every skill at 90 tops until you can get it, but if I remember right it's a tier 3 perk, so it sucks.
Couple of questions.
1. Is maxed Dex really worth it? You stated it was for the skills yet unless I'm mistaken Dex only influences 2 skills you need for this build.
2. Why not max Temperament if your going to go the max 3 route still buffs sneak and gives you a drastically better bonus mechanically even if still not that big a deal for a sniper.
3. Why no mention of the Plasma Rifle?
I know you guys built the gunslinger and that’s kinda like a mandolorian. But I need a full build for it
Fidgemuppet i love your builds hve always used them for fallout series adn the skyrim. Was wondering if you were planning on making a page for the build like you did for skyrim to follow easier.
My sniper bild hits harder you should have a corrosive plasma with an extendo side as well use those against Manta pillars I've been carrying around some other rifle probably in the plasma 2.0 I find that plasma rifles fully charged do more damage has than ultimate hunting rifle
Where do you get that version of the Abit riot gear from. The only one I can find didn't have the shoulder pieces on it and that's the only I really want
Im following this build exactly expect imma be getting the leaded armor and my guys a grizzled old man named Longfellow, as in Old Longfellow from Far Harbor aka the best dlc ever
Would switching out the did farmer with scientist assistant be good? (Extra tech skill)
Is there a written out layout of what needs to be taken at each level up?
Awesome!!!
Do a sublight smuggler.
I just started a soldier/commando build I'd love to see how you do one
Give that sweet long Rage Xp
Pyro build, all plasma 24/7
Why would someone work for the board when the board left you frozen in space?
Money. Power.
Why am I not seeing anyone mention the Sublight Sniper rifle for sale in Fallbrook?
Ooohhhhhhhh yah! Time to reach out and touch someone.
This was my first character, but I chose the MSI helmet because of reduced spread
There's barely any spread when you crouch
@@urieldraconis857 Ik but it gave this sort of mandalorian look to it
Hey @Fudgemuppet.
I am really split witch build i should try for my first playthroud.
I like en sniper build cause of the sneak part.
I like the paladin build cause i like the High dmg.
I like the captain build cause og the leadership looks really good.
So would like to hear What tou think i should try or if there comes a new build soon who would suit me.
Others are also welcome witch there advice 😊
In theory you should put a point into strength. There is a tier 3 perk that allows you move in real time in TTD. Given how slow sniper reload is in TTD I think taking that perk is very good.
Maybe I doing something wrong, but it seems like the hunting rifle degrades faster than the dead-eye.
Bounty hunter build next
Wouldn't persuade and lie be great for dialogue? Also, wouldn't no companions be better for the character as well?
Edit: You should return to the game and make a solid thief build.
Can you or someone in the comments update the build to match the game in its current state, the dlcs made skills able to go to 150
What changes would you make to this for supernova?
Can you make more outer worlds builds
I just use this build to kill everyone important until the next main mission plays
Someone died in my apartment complex. Toads and cupcakes
Shotgun build?
this build is better without companions
Can you make a supernova build?
how come All the Characters are always lvl 23 in ur vids??? Just curious.
You can reassign all your experience points on your ship. Its probably the same character.
The "Sneaky killer coward build". But seriously you don"t need a sneak skill even close to a 100 cause despite what some say,the "AI" is pretty dumb and if spotted I"ve yet to encounter an enemy I could"nt outrun with the "Cheetah" Perk and u won"t be running for long cause the "AI" will quickly loose intetrest as soon as you put 10-15 yards between them and you; hell they"ll usually disappear alltogether when u do a 180 and return to where u first encounter them,be they "Marauders" or "Primal Hunters";WT? How long will we have to wait for true AI? Until the Ps7 or 8?
sniper, *assassin, thief,* sharpshooter
continues to devalue melee
Starlord build please
