Pierpaolo Piccioli’s latest #ValentinoHauteCouture show, #ValentinoDesAteliers, brings art into conversation with fashion, transmuting surfaces, animating works into motion.
Experience the entire collection, shown this evening in Venice’s Gaggiandre, Arsenale, and set to the sounds of Cosima.
As if the clothes are already not beautiful enough on their own, the house of Valentino has to give us that singing and production design. Beyond gorgeous!

I TOTALLY agree with you!! The CHANEL show was ok, but this Valentino collection was ASTONISHING!!! I loved every look from it. I totally love the music too, Chanel’s soundtracks have sucked after Virginie took over. 😢

Valentino par Pier Paolo Piccioli à Venise = je suis très embêté pour parler de ce défilé, tout simplement, parce il y a de très belles choses et d’autres que je trouve affreuses voir ringardes.
J’aime 🥰 :
- le lieu sublime, la scénographie chic-issime, l’ambiance « luxe, calme et volupté » parfaite.
- l’association des tenues très courtes avec les (merveilleux !) chapeaux de Philipp Tracy.
- les tenues « jour » et leurs associations de couleurs vibrantes, les volumes des manteaux, les fourreaux aériens, sexy mais sobres : tout ce que Mr Piccioli fait très bien ....
Je déteste 👎 :
- La lenteur extrême de ce défilé fleuve qui n’en finit plus.
- la robe rouge fendue si haut qu’elle découvre les fesses des mannequins façon peepshow de luxe ....
- toutes les crinolines « Carnaval de Venise », absolument grotesques dans genre « Lady Di se marrie » en couleurs ! Toutes ses robes, ridicules, semblent être des Elie Saab sans broderie .... Elles n’ont pas le chic de la robe rouge que Mr Valentino avait créé pour le « grand » retour au festival de Cannes de Liz Tailor en 1987, ni même « l’énormité » fabuleusement exagérée de la « robe de princesse » (signée D&G) que Sharon Stone portait (merveilleusement) pour fouler le tapis rouge du même festival il y a quelques jours !
- TOUTES LES TENUES POUR HOMME : Tant mieux pour la maison Valentino si elle fait de l’argent avec cette clientèle, mais franchement je trouve « tout ça » in-regardable .... pourquoi nous l’imposer ?
Bien sûr j’apprécie, le haut potentiel « queer comique » de ces tenues parfaites pour habiller Renato dans un remake de « La cage aux folles » à Shanghai ! Mais bon, c’est pas très actuel comme « humour » : c’est d’ailleurs très lourd et très politiquement incorrect ....😉
