    An Haute Couture collection adapted to the times we live in! There aren't many balls at the moment, but Couture clients still enjoy high craftsmanship in their more casual attires, to be sure.

    Fashion show should be done like this that even a person who is
    not knowledgeable in clothing and fashion design could understand and
    appreciate each work and the whole collection. Having Info on each
    outfit is written like a title card of an artwork in a gallery/museum
    really helps a lot!

    This collection was absolutely FAAAAABBBUUULLOOUUSSS, after most of the world spent a year in solitude due to Covid-19. Pier Paolo, captured a new form of the fantasy, the reality, and he mixed it all up with a bit of psychedelic sci-fi experimental-ism. This collection was a complete continuation of the first collection PPP showed as the lead designer at Valentino, but dare I say it this collection has a strong reminiscent of Ricardo Tisci Givenchy Haute Couture vibe to it, But with a much more sophisticated approach especially with the stark color palette that felt as fresh as I expect from PPP. In all I truly enjoyed this collection it’s sooo new and I commend PPP for pushing himself to engage in something super new! BRAVO 👏🏾

      @@jordanherry it’s what he did for his own name brand but just a tad elevated... what he did for Dior no one will ever do aside from Mister Dior himself. But him and McQueen I would say brought fashion to another level where ppl could dream. I feel fashion has become very comercial in a way that it’s boring ... I only look forward for the couture week. And I’m sadden of what Riccardo Ticsi is doing at Burberry .... they wanna make it another Balenciaga street wear .... but I don’t think it’s working. Riccardo to me is Givenchy which you can still see it in Burberry ... maybe numbers are performing for the brand. But overall it’s not the DNA of Burberry.

    So many looks and not one that stands out. Less is more. This looks like pret-a-porter collection, although I am sure many hours of hard work went into many of these creations. The oversized silhouettes have become repetitive over the last 2-3 collections, as well as some colour combinations. It still looks refined, but why pay couture prices for something that looks like off the shelf? Sorry, Pierpaolo, but this season Schiaparelli and Iris van Herpen have done so much better in terms of creativity and execution. Let's see what Chanel has prepared for us.

    • @mihaimarin3520
      @mihaimarin3520 3 роки тому +3

      @@trishplusmama Just watched the Chanel show and I have to agree it is all over the place. There is no cohesion between the various silhouettes and some models look very plain, e.g. the white shirt and black tulle dress worn by Amanda Sanchez, that looks like something from a basic thrift shop. There are some beautiful embroidered pieces and overall the collection is very feminine and has a feeling of lightness about it. The best part of the show for me was Marion Cotillard, she is the epitomy of grace, class and French chic, she took away the attention from the catwalk. Chanel couture is very wearable and I think it makes it easy for the clients that they do not need to change too much the original design (for instance, not all women can wear outrageous volumes of the dresses designed by Valentino).

      Chanel is so so but Dior is magical ! do not miss it

    • @mihaimarin3520
      @mihaimarin3520 3 роки тому +2

      @@oogiedee I saw the Dior film presentation and although the overall package is eerie, the clothes themselves are nothing extraordinary, only recycled ideas and silhouettes from the past collections. Same A shaped silhouettes, same patchwork that gave a middle-age look to the clothes, same pleated dresses. Dior prefers to wow you with the scenery and the backdrop rather than with the design of the clothes. The dresses looked outdated, the colors were sad for a spring collection, but the movie was beautiful. Did not like the bathing scene though, I found it tacky, they could have done it in a more poetic way if they wanted to illustrate the feminine and the masculine energy within a woman coming together. It is confusing to perceive at the first glance if the intention is to shock through same-sex intimacy or if that's only a symbol.

    • @trishplusmama
      @trishplusmama 3 роки тому +2

      @@mihaimarin3520 agree with your points 100%. The clothes for me tell nothing of the story Virginie wants to convey to us. I’m sure it took hours to sew the embellishments etc but really, nothing inspiring was offered imo 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, will some clients be alienated with this “wearable couture” trend if they buy expensive couture to be different from those who buy the usual rtw merchandise?

Fashion is reflective of the times but it shouldn’t be somber. It’s about making ppl want to look forward to something new and new life. I love his work, but it’s the same mood every season. It’s other designers as well. For me I’m just tired of this modernity and sac dressing. Take for instance Schiaparelli Haute Couture this season was amazing and made me excited about what’s to come.
