F. O auto filter is back flushing 2000+ times a day instead of 24 to 30. we had to change filter 3 times every day until i sign off. Couldn't find why that happened. Fuel was okay and we didn't do any change of fuel. Auto filter was disc type. many times fuel pressure drop and gradually standby pump starts. But when we tried to change filter it was not that dirty/chocked. We couldn't open it completely because there was no bypass (it had two sets of filter which we can change change similar to duplex filter) and then we have to blackout the ship which was not possible.same thing happening in one my friend's vessel also. what could be the possible reasons?

One of the main reason of failure can be not full close of discharge piston after finish of discharging . To determine that is really problem , just check by hand or Dig .thermometer temperature or drain pipe after back flushing piston to sludge tank .... Usually high level in drain tank can help to determine the leakage ...... During operation also keep unde control how many discharge per day ...... BRGDS
