I hope Wrex will not survive in the plot. They would massacre him and Krogans the same way they did with Qunari. He would probably become a brood mother himself.
Imagine if they rewrite it so that Mordin failed to cure the genophage (and thus dies for nothing). Wrex has to go under the knife, becoming the first trans Krogan woman, as some scientific advancement (made by a female Salarian, of course...can't let a man take credit for a woman's work) will allow Wrex (now named "Wrexanna") to be impregnated and continue the Krogan species as broodmother. I wouldn't put it past 'em.
The Bioware analogy should be "Imagine your parent's house, but when you go there, your dad is dead, and some other guy who married your mom is living in it. It's the same house, but it's not 'your parent's house.' any more."
Clean house? Bioware is a heap of rubble with nothing to salvage. There never was anything special about any of their in-house IPs in terms of world building, themes, anything. It is all generic and derivative, and there’s nothing wrong with that, when they feed off those tropes to build a good game. If they can’t, there’s little loss, we just move on and keep on the look out for a good game elsewhere.
@@RambleOn07I wasn’t implying they aren’t good games, or that Bioware didn’t make good games. @@Jet-ij9zc There was a big change on the attitude towards the prequels after the Disney movies (especially last jedi.) This was across the board. @Silenthero66 Yeah, but the sequels were first released in 2015, just as genZ started getting older and getting a more vocal presence online. The sequel probably made a lot of older milenials and genX reconsider their opinion on the prequels, but I strongly believe that GenZ entering the public discussion had a much bigger impact. Tho, the sequel also restarted the public discussion on starwars and gave genZ an opportunity to share their opinions on the prequels.
Except that they were always good. (If anything, the OT suffers from how it was written film-by-film. Leia being Luke's sister is such an obvious arsepull to cover for a cut character)
Mass Effect is already cooked beyond repair. ME3 PTSD sufferers like myself are also cooked beyond repair. Mass Effect 3 - The ending could have worked if it was just simplified to destroy the reapers, keep edi and geth alive, the end. The extended cuts are dogwater, the devs should have teamed up with the community to formulate an ending (but then again what do we know. Matthew McConaughey is in the upcoming ME style game Exodus with people from the original series working on it. McConaughey isn't going to attach his name to something like Dragon Age. Bioware would need to make something amazing and based to dig themselves of the hole they are in now.
I want to pay Bioware to NOT make Mass Effect 4. Also that headline of that article is wrong. The upcoming Mass Effect game isn't Mass Effect 5 because that would mean that Andromeda is Mass Effect 4 which it isn't. Andromeda isn't even Mass Effect. Angaran: My people have several pronouns to identify themselves with. Perhaps I should prepare a document. " Yes, this is real. It's in Andromeda. @QuanMalgol Don't worry. I won't pay you. You don't deserve that level of hurt. I lived the mass effect trilogy as well, so was curious about mass defect:)
Ironically Andromeda was where this whole woke mess really started making the studio go sideways, as it was the first game where “thou shalt not have attractive female characters in thy games” trend was REALLY in effect. Not only was the pre gen face for Sara Ryder off, they made it so it was insanely difficult to make an attractive female face at all in the Character Creator. I remember UA-cam videos of professional artists trying to make good looking characters for hours and mostly failing while people wondered why the CCs looked so off.
God I miss the days when I'd come home from school and jump into Mass Effect. Meeting Sovereign for the first time or watching the Citadel fleet defend the station from the Geth Armada.
This was bioware's last chance. The kids and young adults of today havent played the bioware games that were good, and if they have they were like 10 at the time. The demographic that still associates them with those games is becoming an ever smaller minority among gamers, by the time Mass Effect 5 potentially comes out people will only remember them for some of the greatest flops of all time.

They're at least two years away from ME5 release. That's if everything goes smoothly. Veilguard is now breaking records with whopping 89 500 simultaneous players. That means across all platforms (including EA Origin or whatever they call it now) it should be somewhere near two million copies sold. They need at least five million to recoup the development and marketing costs, before they even turn profit. I'm not giving them much chance to stay in business for two more years but maybe they're so far ahead in ME5 development that EA deems it worth it to finish.

The sad part is that I'm pretty sure you're going to be right on this. None of the AAA space has talent anymore let alone writing talent. The only thing they've shown is that they only understand worship of the cult of the rainbow. Trying to make "normal" characters that aren't mentally or emotionally stunted that they can't even work with others that aren't part of the cult is a reach at best for them. Tell me with all serious that another Mass Effect game won't be full of identity politics rants without laughing. We all know it's going to happen.
Well it is either that or the studio gets shut down. At this point, closing would be a mercy.
Sadly mass effect was always like that and other games like Bioshock suffer from it as well.
People writing for years have been told in their face from higher ups that “heroes journey is outdated.” Hence why you see new games which don’t sell. Heroes journey sold well and making money to these weirdos is considered outdated.
@@Setsuna012 no, let's stop pretending media with progressive messages were _purely_ modern leftoid talking points.

Mass Drag Effect 5 is gonna be lit! 🔥
He didn't survive. Shephard gunned him down on Virmire.

Bioware mentioning Mass Effect 5 sounds like a threat. RIP Shepard.
Remember. These games were ruined all by the same cause.
Trying to release a new game on a new engine that doesn't work for 3rd person ARPGs in less than 1 year?
@GeorgeMonet no. Marxism.
The Bioware analogy should be "Imagine your parent's house, but when you go there, your dad is dead, and some other guy who married your mom is living in it. It's the same house, but it's not 'your parent's house.' any more."
Bioware should shelve Mass Effect until they clean house.
They already cleaned house. They got rid of everyone who made the studio great.
Spend accordingly.
@@BlookbugIVdragon age was good and Jade Empire was awesome.
@@RambleOn07I wasn’t implying they aren’t good games, or that Bioware didn’t make good games.
I was trying to put across that if they stop making good games, it should be easy to move on - because their IPs are just a bunch of tropes stitched together anyway. Not much to cry over.
Let someone else make better use of the deep well of sci-fi and fantasy tropes. Forget BioWare.
@@BlookbugIV tbf, writers should always create their own worlds. That way, they don't ruin someone else's. But, Dragon Age and Jade Empire both created fun and interesting settings in their first game.

but were the prequels good? were they really?
due to SW i've learned to despise all forms of prequels....
I HATE EM JOCK, I HATE EM!!
ahh show a little back bone would ya Red? lol
"The prequels were actually good" (im assuming you're talking about star wars prequel) mostly come from older genZ and younger milenials who grew up with the prequels and never thought they were bad.
@@Jet-ij9zc There was a big change on the attitude towards the prequels after the Disney movies (especially last jedi.) This was across the board. I'm in that younger millennial camp (1996) and do agree they aren't as bad as originally made out to be, but this effect definitely happened. And yes, the prequels are bad, just not that bad.

Andromeda - had potential, the combat was fun, the nomad was nice, the story was eh (a sign of things to come).
Mass Effect 3 - The ending could have worked if it was just simplified to destroy the reapers, keep edi and geth alive, the end. Bioware died with Mass Effect 3 (which makes me sad).
I will own none of this and be happy
The joke is they believe they will develop ME5
Andromeda radicalized me to the gaming industry. The OG ME trilogy if my favorite trilogy of games ever. When Andromeda was coming, I trusted BioWare blindly. Did not watch any videos or reviews or previews or anything before it came out. I preordered it, and got it at midnight... And then I pressed play... To say at broken and a shell of what Mass Effect once was is an understatement. Since then, I absolutely don't trust any developers and much less journalists. I even discovered the original GG from it. BioWare is dead. Let rot.
This is on point, there are heaps of people on Starfield forum that suddenly think that the mediocrity that was Fallout 4 was amazing. Just because it's less trash than SF doesn't mean it's good.
Someone should make a (going out of business simulator) that's main story line is about a game developer that was successful then used DEI to pander to a non existent audience while hemorrhaging the core audience
That would actually make an interesting game, where you are the CEO and you are forced to hire DEI and after they make a flopping product you have to handle things like funds, firing jobs, and PR.
You already know the main protagonist will be strong independent wamens who don’t need no man and will be non-binary and a lesbian furry.
Matthew McConaughey is in the upcoming ME style game Exodus with people from the original series working on it. McConaughey isn't going to attach his name to something like Dragon Age. Bioware would need to make something amazing and based to dig themselves of the hole they are in now.
You will beg for Andromeda before the end.
It certainly isn't part of the main continuity. It's barely a spin-off.
Mass Effect is a trilogy. Always will be.

I've heard good things about the gameplay but every clip of that game that I've ever found of the characters talking has convinced me that Andromeda has basically the exact same problems as Veilguard: Millennial writing.
Marvel movie quips. Semi-ironic humor. Awkward flirting between characters (mostly of the same sex which becomes repetitive and tiresome), quirky incompetent main characters that can't ever take anything seriously, CONSTANTLY chiming in even if nobody asked for their opinion. Basically it's very insincere, put-on, corporate tumblr, safe-horny, safe-edgy, it reeks of insecurity and never actually says anything (not about real world social issues that are forcibly inserted nor about social issues that one would expect from the Mass Effect universe).
Here's an excerpt about Asari and Angaran pronouns:
"
Asari: Some Asari prefer male pronouns, while others gravitate towards gender neutral where language allows.
Angaran: My people have several pronouns to identify themselves with. Perhaps I should prepare a document.

Yes, this is real. It's in Andromeda. It's a full on conversation between two NPCs that you're supposed to take seriously.

No it was present from the first game if you know where to look.
Hmm, sounds like time for a duck test. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and walks like a duck, it's a duck...
On Andromeda I have only one thing to say I replayed Mass Effect trilogy like 8 times and Andromeda only 1 time....
We all know BioWare isn't going to be around long enough for ME5 to ever see the light of day.
I can see why people would see Bioware as the ship of Theseus.
That's just every game studio, but they're not being replaced with competence anymore, so if you started out with a BMW you end up with a tricycle without wheels and a handlebar.

Or, somehow we are introduced to a new alien-race which is the Asari, but all-male and your player character will, regardless of their gender, will find themselves attracted to a member of that race.
Even Jack from ME had more feminine appeal than anything in Andromeda or DAVG.
Jack had serious mental issues, a tough life, and fit the rebellious b*tch archetype. She wasn’t trying to be sexy ever, and that was the point; she didn’t give a f*(k… which some dudes happen to find attractive.
Anyway, deliberately intolerable Jack is better written than these insufferable wokesters now
And she was SUPPOSED to look that way, not because of "desexualisation" but to show early life malnourishment.
Let's see how Mass Effect 5 will do in 15 years.
There are so many good games that I will never have to install Andromeda and I will have more than enough to keep me entertained. The fact that Andromeda is going to look like GOTY is comparison to these upcoming games is hilarious.
In the future, if Bioware survives long enough to make another Dragon Age game, I still won't play DEIguard, so the journalist underestimate my ability to NEVER play a game.
I NEVER bought ME Andromeda, and if ME5 is woke, I won't buy that either. I can and have skipped many games in a franchise if they suck.
Mass Effect ended with Shepard. Bioware should've moved on and made a new cool space sci-fi saga, in another universe. It was supposed to be Anthem, I know, but still.
Inquisition has gotten better since Veilguard released.
Nahh. For me, the Inquisition had all the bad symptoms of modern politics. No cleavage, no desire demon, lots of male voices for female looking npcs, simplified combat, gameplay and skills, normal looking companions, etc. Unpopular opinion, but I have never liked characters like Scout Harding, Dagna, or Viviene, and Serah, etc. They are oozing with toxic positivity, sermons, and arrogance.
@@marcomongke3116 Inquisition was already woke slop for sure.
Inquisition companions were ugly as fuck and you could do some gayming too, but I never thought about wokeness at that time. I just thought... "why are they so ugly?". Didn't feel so woke because it didn't feel so entirely forced unlike what we have today.
I ducked out of Dragon Age at 2, Origins and Awakening were fantastic and while I appreciated the keeping my choices it just wasnt as good as the predecessor. Same with ME3, aside from the multi-player I beat it once, for comparison I have one of every class that's played all the way through 1 and 2 all side quests and DLC completed, I didn't even finish the main story on Andromeda.

I don't quite see the contradiction here 🧐
They're at least two years away from ME5 release.
Im actually replaying Andromeda right now lol, what a coincidence.
Vee is right. When Suicide Squad KTJL come out, people replaying Batman Arkham Knight instead, even though the game had some mixed reviews on launch due to technical issues and Batmobile gameplay sections.
