What a lovely documentary, thanks for posting. I've always loved Frankie's singing from being a kid and he always came across as a nice man on television, and hearing people speak so highly of him here shows he was just that. I am so jealous of his hair though, mine went down the plughole at 22 and Frankie kept his all of his life, damn. Ha!
think Tom jones received the baton from Frankie, same charisma, manly good looks and powerful pipes. Both real men in the old fashioned ,Hollywood way that was just coming to an end. Frankie an old fashioned crooner, Tom a bit of a throwback at the time, yet they were both so exceptionally gifted that they had no trouble competing in the upcoming pop era that was about to change the world forever.
I met frankie vaughan at a lady water rats do that i was security at . the royal Lancaster hotel... he was not a tall man by any means but he walked over and spoke to me and i could not believe it.. there was me, and FRANKE VAUGHAN wants to speak to me !!! gobsmacked is all i can say..
