The Norfolk+Western Y6 runs again on Howard Zane's layout!

- Another episode of Andre Runs! this time Andre is busy going thru dozens of NCE throttles so Alex Koehler takes out the N+W 2-8-8-2 Y6 with a load of beautiful wood build coal hoppers Howard built. The locomotive is a later Broadway Limited version Un -weathered because it just got out of the N+W shops for delivery. Follow it on its near 20 minute journey around half the layout!
What a joy it is to watch this beautiful Y6 go through its paces on what has to be the most beautiful layout on UA-cam. Al, you do such a great job filming all these locos and with your dedicated and enthusiastic narration you bring to life the pleasure of model railroading. One can only imagine how amazing it must have been to actually to have seen these locos in real life working their magic in the Appalachians. Well done again, keep 'em coming.

Very nice. No matter how careful and methodical you are in building your layout “gremlins” somehow manage to creep in. Luckily there is a dedicated crew to keep things moving

Hey Al, if those NCE throttles only need upgraded you can purchase chips and do yourself-I’ve done 3- but if they need fixing then send to NCE.

@alpugliesetrains9753 ..so what relation is Andy in regards to Howard that he is trusted with maintaining and up keeping Howards immense layout? I see he inventorying Howard's control units and other aspects of the layout!

The layout and all the locomotives/rolling stock are owned by Howard Zane. Al, Andre, Ryan, and I (Alex) have been assisting Howard getting his beautiful layout running again since it didn’t see much use during the pandemic. We have the layout running rather well now so we are in the process of tweaking the track and switches in addition to making sure all the DCC controllers are in good working order. Many of these videos that Al captures shows the locomotives and rolling stock that we have successfully tested for operational reliability.
