When it comes to second empire style( mansard roofed) buildings….their rooflines always lines up with the walls. I never understood why train models of this type build the roofs out to the edges. It makes the buildings look cartoonish. If you want to see how buildings of that era really looked…google ‘mansard roofed victorians’

Does Dave have any of those PIKO, Whitcomb de65-19A 's center cab locomotives on the layout. What a beautifully made model. I believe Bethlehem Steel had some of these. Maybe there were some that were worked on some line by his mills?

This has to be THE BEST most well thought-out and built private layouts that I have EVER had the pleasure of viewing. Simply EXCELLENT in its smooth blend of prototype and modeling compression, operations, signaling, detailing and overall craftsmanship. THANK YOU for an excellent video tour!

Positively beautiful and well done. Years back I was a PRR modeler and spent three years constructing the catenary. Well, a week after the grand opening, one of my pussy cats got onto the layout and got himself tangled in the overhead wires. he panicked and rolled over and over completely wrecking three years of work. Cat flambe does not taste great so my cat did not get cooked. I have never again attempted a catenary, but I sure do respect and admire folks like Bill who can do this so well.
