Really enjoyed the video and the great comics. Nice to see you flip through some of them. I remember reading through comics in the back of the car on long road trips from cover to cover and the ads were definitely part of the experience. Take care JIm

The glossy paper for that Real Ghostbusters comic is indeed pretty cool, it reminds me of a UK comic.
I used to have a Marvel Unlimited subscription and read through some of their 70's horror stuff like Tomb of Dracula and Man-Thing, those were pretty good.
I've always been more of a Marvel guy but hopefully I can find some time to read through some more Batman someday

@@jd213_ I had that Marvel Unlimited app for about 3 years, and I read so much. I eventually figured out that I could read most of the same stuff on the free library app Hoopla. I do prefer Marvel to DC overall.

Have that hobgoblin comic up on the wall. Never read it, it's not from my 80's world. But you are right on, that cover is too awesome. Love me some pumpkin bombs

Whenever I look at Batman comic book covers online, I notice they leaned more heavily into the horror/spooky stuff with the covers in the late 60's through to the early 80's, and again in the mid to late 90's. Nothing wrong with that, but I found it interesting. Also do you remember the Blue Ribbon Best of DC Comics digests that DC published in the 80's? I have volumes 52 and 61, and in volume 52 they have Swamp Thing #16 from 1983 and volume 61 has Swamp Thing #21 (Alan Moore's second issue) from 1984 in it. So that's my history with Swamp Thing. I also have an interesting connection to Ghost Rider. Back in the early 90's, Marvel published a Spider-Man one shot comic called The Amazing Spider-Man: Hit and Run, which is set in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and was done in collaboration with the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball team. Anyway, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider team up in the issue. I also have issue #12 of that Real Ghostbusters comic book series, and all the ads, all for other books published by Now Comics, were in the back of the issue. As for that Gargoyles comic, I have that issue as well. Very cool stuff.

@@TheCassettePhase My grandmother got a few of them for me from a yard sale when I was in middle school or high school, so like early 2000s, though I don't know what happened to the third one I had though. Anyway, they were similar to the Archie digests, but, unlike the Archie digests, which reprinted comics from all over Archie's history, these ones just reprinted DC books from the 70's and early 80's, not publishing anything before that. They also included some obscure stuff like Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld. The Blue Jays were super popular in the 90's. Particularly here in Ontario, since Toronto is the capital of the province, so the team was everywhere at the time. So that Spider-Man comic I mentioned was not surprising.

Cool comics, especially the horror ones. Not really a fan of superheroes. The Real Ghostbusters is awesome! I didn't care for the new Beetlejuice movie. There were some elements that were interesting though. Hopefully you can watch it in the theatre. Interested to hear your opinion on it.

@@lgf213 thanks! Yeah the superhero stuff isn’t for everyone. Yeah I’ve heard some mixed reviews, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy the nostalgic elements.
