Whenever I look at Batman comic book covers online, I notice they leaned more heavily into the horror/spooky stuff with the covers in the late 60's through to the early 80's, and again in the mid to late 90's. Nothing wrong with that, but I found it interesting. Also do you remember the Blue Ribbon Best of DC Comics digests that DC published in the 80's? I have volumes 52 and 61, and in volume 52 they have Swamp Thing #16 from 1983 and volume 61 has Swamp Thing #21 (Alan Moore's second issue) from 1984 in it. So that's my history with Swamp Thing. I also have an interesting connection to Ghost Rider. Back in the early 90's, Marvel published a Spider-Man one shot comic called The Amazing Spider-Man: Hit and Run, which is set in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and was done in collaboration with the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball team. Anyway, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider team up in the issue. I also have issue #12 of that Real Ghostbusters comic book series, and all the ads, all for other books published by Now Comics, were in the back of the issue. As for that Gargoyles comic, I have that issue as well. Very cool stuff.

@@TheCassettePhase My grandmother got a few of them for me from a yard sale when I was in middle school or high school, so like early 2000s, though I don't know what happened to the third one I had though. Anyway, they were similar to the Archie digests, but, unlike the Archie digests, which reprinted comics from all over Archie's history, these ones just reprinted DC books from the 70's and early 80's, not publishing anything before that. They also included some obscure stuff like Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld. The Blue Jays were super popular in the 90's. Particularly here in Ontario, since Toronto is the capital of the province, so the team was everywhere at the time. So that Spider-Man comic I mentioned was not surprising.

I'm not a huge fan of horror, but like most kids in the 90's, I read Goosebumps when I was a kid, and loved Halloween themed episodes of my favourite TV shows. So my first Stephen King book was 11/22/63, and then I read It afterwards. I love both books, but have never been in a rush to read more of his books. Might have to find a copy of Christine though. Oh, and while I've never seen the original version of It, with Tim Curry as Pennywise, I did see the 2017 version (It Chapter One) on Blu-ray a few years ago. Nice touch on the background music... Lately cant get enough of carpenters the fog, if anyone has seen that i just love the lead character using that voice for her radio station. Growing up there were djs that talked like that if you know what im talking about, dont think they have anything like that now.

Dude. I JUST finished Salem's Lot TODAY. I will watch the 1979 movie sometime this week. It's my tenth King book this year, as I read 1 or 2 King books in high school then didn't read any more for like twenty years lol. So I too consider myself lucky that I get to experience them all as an adult for the first time. The Christine book and movie are both awesome. I love the Buddy Reperton death scene in the book and the practical effects in the movie are crazy good. As a kid we played a version of tag on the playground that we called "Christine." It was sort of a combination of hide and seek and tag. Loving the Halloween themed videos. Keep up the good work!

Very nice! Most of my Halloween memories actually come from being at school. Until 1997, trick or treating for my siblings and I consisted of going to our grandparents's houses in our costumes because when we lived in the city, it wasn't that safe of a neighborhood that we lived in, and then for the first four years that we lived out in the country, we either lived in a small refurbished log farmhouse where it was too dark for us to be walking around at night, even with our parents joining us, or we lived on the really busy main road of the place we lived in. So when we moved into the subdivision we lived in until 2016, we got to go trick or treating in our neighborhood. I stopped going trick or treating when I was in middle school in 1999. I do remember some of my costumes though. One year I was dressed as Van Gough Lion from Zoobilee Zoo, the next year I went as Commander Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation, but grade 2 and grade 3 I had the most amazing costumes. In grade 2 my dad bought a Darth Vader costume, one of those cheap plastic ones, with a domino mask, and then he cut out the logo from the NES Batman game that was the game of the 1989 movie, and stuck it on the front of the Darth Vader costume, and put it on me over a black sweatshirt with a hood, so I could put the domino mask on and put up the hood so I could be Batman. And then the very next year my parents got me a Ninja Turtles costume, and I was Michaelangelo. Which was so cool! I also had a party with a friend over and we watched Boo to You Winnie the Pooh on TV in 1996. I remember it so well because Toy Story had Just come out on VHS, and they had commercials for it during the broadcast. I love the 1995 Casper movie. I have it on VHS now, but when I was a kid, my parents rented it for me when it first came out. I also had that glow in the dark Casper from Pizza Hut. I had some of the original Mcdonald's Nugget Buddies that had Halloween costumes, as well as the original Pumpkin bucket. As for those little furballs with googly eyes, I have no idea what they're called, but I had a bunch of the regular ones when I was a kid.
