Dude. I JUST finished Salem's Lot TODAY. I will watch the 1979 movie sometime this week. It's my tenth King book this year, as I read 1 or 2 King books in high school then didn't read any more for like twenty years lol. So I too consider myself lucky that I get to experience them all as an adult for the first time. The Christine book and movie are both awesome. I love the Buddy Reperton death scene in the book and the practical effects in the movie are crazy good. As a kid we played a version of tag on the playground that we called "Christine." It was sort of a combination of hide and seek and tag. Loving the Halloween themed videos. Keep up the good work!
@@elibourgard8969 thanks man! Yeah the journey through all these King books is going to be so much fun. Agree with all of your points. I hope the Salems Lot movie does that story some justice. If not, we’ll always have the 1979 version!
Nice touch on the background music... Lately cant get enough of carpenters the fog, if anyone has seen that i just love the lead character using that voice for her radio station. Growing up there were djs that talked like that if you know what im talking about, dont think they have anything like that now.
I'm relatively new to Stephen King's work myself. I'm not a huge fan of horror, but like most kids in the 90's, I read Goosebumps when I was a kid, and loved Halloween themed episodes of my favourite TV shows. So my first Stephen King book was 11/22/63, and then I read It afterwards. I love both books, but have never been in a rush to read more of his books. Might have to find a copy of Christine though. Oh, and while I've never seen the original version of It, with Tim Curry as Pennywise, I did see the 2017 version (It Chapter One) on Blu-ray a few years ago. Oh and you're so right, adaptations of books are their own separate thing from the source material, be it movies or TV shows, and each medium has different requirements than books do.
@@tgif1345 goosebumps was awesome. I’ll still read through those, and fear street, once in a while. I also loved the tame kid horror of Are You Afraid of the Dark?
@@TheCassettePhase Yeah they were great! I never got my hands on any of the Fear Street books though. By the time I was old enough to read them I was reading Hardy Boys, Animorphs, and Star Wars novels and I never saw them on the shelves for whatever reason. I also never watched Are You Afraid of the Dark? Between having younger siblings and missing that original revival in 1999, it's a show I simply missed out on. I remember my classmates talking about it in the 1st grade though, during the show's original run.
Always liked the movie, and I've read some Stephen King in my youth but never got around to reading this one. Maybe someday I can get back to reading novels...
I hate reading but love movies. One of my favorite by Stephen King is Sometimes They Come Back. If you are not familiar with it you should check it out.

Love that movie!
@@josephpaoletti3576 I actually haven’t seen that one. Sounds like a must watch for this month!
I just watched Christine yesterday. I’ve never read the book but I love the movie. I’ve seen it so many times. 👍

@@jd213_ yeah, reading has come and gone throughout my life, but lately it’s become a great way to unwind. I look forward to it daily.

@@lgf213 I don’t know that one, I’ll have to track it down!
Here for the King journey. Top 5 if forced would be:
The Stand
Misery
The Shining
11/22/63
Salem’s Lot
@@SantoLowrie I still haven’t gotten to your top 4, but I will. Misery and the Stand probably next, but I’ve heard that 11/22/63 is amazing too.
