I really like Aquaman in this episode. They have lots of humour for obvious reasons and have him get a high five from a dolphin and get defeated by attacking fish, but they also put respect on his name by showing he’s strong enough to just take on the whole Legion Of Doom on his own, taking down several heavy hitters with ease like Black Adam, Poison Ivy, Parasite and Black Manta. Great way of doing his character justice in a comedy.
I love that as soon as Aquaman and Black Manta are in the same room, its like smoke on sight with them, even with Arthur preoccupied with another Villain.
When it comes to Aquaman, Black Manta refuses to be ignored or made the side piece 😂
What Chris means is DCAU Lex looked “racially ambiguous” is in his early appearances in the DCAU’s Superman TAS his look was inspired by Greek actor Telly Savalas (which you can clearly see). The Superman Adventures comics based on the show and early Justice League his skin color looks more white before he gets a slight bit darker again in JLU.
Same goes for most white people in that show
It's funny though because Lex and Superman are about the same shade in TAS, Lex just has more prominent lips.

These are the big ones. There have been other women in other versions of the LoD (Livewire, Killer Frost), but not in the comic, as far as I'm aware, just other shows.

@@thewerewolff7248 Well, her full villain name is star sapphire, but because of the mess with the color spectrum, it's also the name of her version of the green lanterns, which is why I just called her Sapphire. And she does have the purple ring version of the green lanterns, now one of 11 types of lanterns (red, orange, yellow, purple (star sapphires), violet/indigo, blue, green, black, white, and now gold and ultraviolet. Yeah, it's a lot.)
@@stefsmurf for the record the star saphire's colour has explicitly been said to be violet not purple. I don't know where you even got purple from for them since their costumes are pretty clearly more pink. If anything the Indigo tribe are more purple. You also missed the Phantom Lantern from the Rebirth comic "Green Lanterns"

When I see a show in DC universe it makes me miss Kevin Conroy so much. He was perfect in Arkham games. I got a voice acting background and have to say that his voice has been such an inspiration for me since the Batman the Animated Series. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him are a great impulse to not give up - I was almost a face of Leon in those new RE games :)
The guy who flipped off Harley winning the Legion of Doom nomination was KGBeast, not Bane.
18:15 in the comics and a couple of the animated adaptations, Lex is also elected the President of the United States. The homie Jeff/Black Lightning was even his Secretary of Education (no heel turn, it was one of those do good within the system sort of things).
Lex Luthor, in some way the evil Iron Man of the DCU and voiced by Giancarlo Esposito...aka Moff Guideon in the Mandalorian and Gus Fring in Better Call Saul...Perfect voice casting here ! You really need to have gravitas with his voice and feel business like...although Clancy Brown in the Justice League and Superman animated shows was excellent !!
Sidenote, the woman villain he was talking about is most likely Cheetah and she is no joke !! Her magic claw can shred Superman and she can hold her own against Wonder Woman !!

People tend to forget because he has been a joke for so many year because of the super friends but...Aquaman is top 5 most powerful Justice league easy ! He can in theory fight one on one with any villains...Especially on water and with Poseidon's trident that is pretty op...
More because of early internet videos making fun of Super Friends.
Also, top 5 definitely depends on the line up at the time. Of the 7 original founders I'd put him 6th, after Superman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Flash and Wonder Woman, but above Batman (obviously).
I remember in the New 52 they started off showing Aquaman was faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Chris, almost everyone in the batman the animated series and justice league continuity had a bit of a brown tint to them, hell before the season 3 redesigns, bruce wayne was a bit tan, i omagine it was just the color pallette they used

It never once occurred to me that Lex Luthor could be black in Superman the Animated Series, but now that they bring it up…I can see it 😂
I think the general fanon of Lex's race in the DCAU was that he's either Near Eastern or Middle Eastern. But yeah, once they hit the Justice League cartoon they definitely made him more racially ambiguous. Which, tbh, I kinda prefer. I like the idea that Lex is actually the embodiment of America's future, that being a man without an identifiable race.
Technically I’m the show he’s got the same skin tone as Clark Kent but he’s definitely African American codes in his features.

I grew up thinking Lex Luthor was mixed and they were whitewashing him over the years. When I rewatched the cartoons as an adult, I think my perspective changed, because now he is so clearly white to me.
