I love the way the writers wrote these characters in this season.both were making mistakes but doing their best and cared about each other and both had self reflection of a much older person. I choose to think of them this way

Granted it would have been really nice if Dean could have been supportive of Rory right away as she found out about all the extracurricular stuff but that's not reality! I have seen people go through this around this age a lot. When one person is wanting to spend time with each other and the other one has goals that they want to put before the relationship. It is just one of those life lessons everybody has to work out for themselves

It’s not that she’s just listening to what Paris said, It’s actually important to have a good amount of extra curricular activities on your college record, which Rory just realized by Paris saying it.

Okay, these comments are insane. Dean was totally in the wrong in this conversation. Rory has been working since she was little so that she could get into Harvard, and it’s something she takes extremely seriously. Now that she’s getting closer to graduating it’s 10x more important. Dean wants her to stop working towards something she’s been working hard for just so that he can hang out with her. If he was a good boyfriend, he’d respect the fact that Rory is trying super hard to get into Harvard and let her do her thing rather than complain that she’s not spending enough time with him.
