@@user-xt4st4cs2yI recommend that you go so you can at least learn the show (Im speaking for experience here). It will make learning different parts of the show a little easier :)

The flag getting stuck in your shirt is too true, the amount of times my flag pole has gotten stuck in my sleeves is crazy 😮💨😮💨

this was so helpful! I'm in color guard going to be a sophomore and I joined color guard during winter season so this will be my first marching season! I'm super excited!

I’m in 6th going into 7th this year I’m a rooking marching band player and I was not at all prepared for marching band so when I started camp this Monday I almost threw up and yesterday I was so worn out I didn’t want to even go but today when I wore my Sousa I could march with without it hurting me other than when we went inside and I had to stand for like 4 hours

I’m in 8th grade playing with a high school band so I’m scared I’m starting band camp August 8th I’m playing snare should I do anything before to get ready for it.
My 8th grade year was so fun. It is scary but it’s the best thing ever tbh.

@@SPEAKERBOX2008 I’ll just answer this in case no one else does :)) but it’s pretty good! I mean you get really nervous but they’re pretty chill and understand if you mess up and give you pointers (from my experience) there can be kids that get in your nerves but honestly I get along with everyone, so it’s good for me so far.
Me too! This is my 2nd year cus I started in 7th grade but I am still scared because I’m starting in drumline this year instead of pit percussion

Mine starts on the 25th and it’s stressful because it’s hot and it’s from 8-5 for 2 weeks. And I’m not a social person. I’ve been last year and I wish I looked it up then because it was torment. Ours is luckily on a field because we have one for football and marching band and usually practicing around the same time. The heat and your feet hurting is the worst part
Mines start on the 11th and it will be stressful and i’m not a social person either. but you will make at least two good friends that will make it so much fun being there.

I'm joining and in my junior year of highschool rn and I've heard some crazy torture stories about bandcamp
@@twilight1220 it’s not too bad.😭hopefully what your talking about is them doing strength training but other than that it’s part of the experience!😊
You should have mentioned preparing your arms for holding bells up, because they are usually strict about that. Also work on your legs before hand so you can keep your legs up for high stepping

@@lapreciousdiary at our trumpet sectionals we do workouts. We also did workouts when I did color guard. We didn't do workouts when I did clarinet tho, I do not think it is very necessary for clarinet tho
yea we do a lot of workouts during our colorguard camp!
@@lapreciousdiary at camp we mainly do stretches(as a whole group(this is my senior year)(and we actually leave for camp tomorrow morning(I am so excited))) but some of the stretches could be considered strengthening exercises, but not workouts

@@n00bdle Hi!! i’m not gonna lie. i just take deep breaths and hope for the best, but please don’t do that. just breathe normally, focus on the air that you’re exhaling and don’t lock your knees. Goodluck!😊

I’m going into 9th grade and our band camp is only 1 week . Is that normal? I feel like most people are saying there’s are at least 3 weeks.
in my school we have one week of full band camp but we have other camps too for the freshman and colorguard. so yes it’s normal💕

Im starting my very first band camp tomorrow and im freaking out because my insomina has been affecting be bad lately, i havent been going outside at all really, and I should have practiced more even though i was busy. (My mammaw had surgery to fix her back and someone tried off their self) 😭😭😭 help-
Don't freak out, I been in a similar situation. Please try to go outside! even if its for 10 minutes. Also drink plenty of water before band camp, that would be helpful so you won't pass out. also sorry about your mammaw! I'm sure she appreciate your help, but now its time to focus on your health so you can be prepare for camp. also Ik insomnia is something you can't fix but please try your best to get as much sleep as you can. you got this!

In my experience it has been a school thing. but I believe there are groups outside of school people could join!
