I got 3/4 the way up Canisp in the first week of October but one of the highest winds I've ever encountered on the hills and dense fog prevented me summiting. I sheltered behind a convenient rock for an hour and had lunch but as things didn't look like improving, I went down. As luck would have it, having got most of the way down, the cloud cleared. Never mind . . . I first climbed this underrated mountain in 1966, again in 1978 and will try again next April. Great video!

Thanks Roger here's to getting to the Summit on your next trip... Aye Assynt is an amazing place after a few years exploring a lot of Southern Scotland this was my first time that far north...I'm new to the vlogging on UA-cam I'm uploading every week mostly from my home land the Lake District... If you like hit the subscribe button it would be greatly appreciated thanks buddy😊

Thanks! My dad was born in Sutherland so I spent all my childhood summers up there on my uncle’s sheep farm just north of Lairg . . . climbing on the good days, working my passage on the bad. I’ve climbed all the Sutherland and Wester Ross hills over since the early ‘60s and, even though I now live in Vancouver, I still get over to Assynt once or twice a year (pandemics permitting!) to climb my beloved hills there. Very best, Roger.

Hi Andy, another great film, so different to the fells of the Lakes where there are paths everywhere to summits, I would guess you need quite good weather so you can at least see where you are heading to ? Just stunning views up at the top there mate, love it big time. Blimey Billy has climbed some hills and mountains, what a top and lucky dog LOL. Great inspiration by Tracy also Andy doing that with recent struggles, bloody great job. My wife has a serious knee issue which is preventing doing certain things but being in the Lakes even at low levels for us is a dream I must say. . Keep inspiring us pal, take care

Thanks for watching Steve...yeah sometimes Scotland is another level I love the remoteness and the lesser known Hills...we've bagged a lot in the Borders and Southern Uplands where things can get very remote with no paths on the Maps...Scotlands a great place to just wander and often go off piste.

Magic guys. 😎 Was looking forward to this after seeing your pics. What a place Assynt is eh. I've only been there once. Me & Robin did this fine Corbett then a summit camp on Suilven a few years ago. Loved the shout out to me, Robin and Stripey. 😊😊😊
