Another great walk is Muker to Keld, late summer you will find mukers famous wildflowers, follow the river passing numerous waterfalls and brilliant scenery, stop at Keld for a cake or ice cream then the magic happens. Cross the river and return to Muker on the opposite bank and take in more waterfalls that you was unable to see from the first half of the walk. Nearby is the town of Richmond where you could stay and make your visit longer, Richmond has a lovely castle and shops and bars, yet still has that sense of peacefulness. Explore the outskirts of the town along the riverbank with great views of the castle and visit one of the oldest theatres in the country.
I'd like to recommend the walled garden at Helmsley. Formerly the kitchen garden for Duncombe Park and now restored, it's a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon for anyone interested in gardens. It has a lovely tea room where you can sit outside and have wild birds hopping around right under your table and even come begging for crumbs. Even better, if you return within the year, you get in for free ! 😊
Indeed, there was just something about Rievaulx abbey that I can't explain, but it just seemed so atmospheric and unique! and that sounds like a great walk, a castle and an abbey all in one walk, who could refuse that!!
Awesome, thanks for helping me to prepare for my 2wk holiday!! There’s plenty to do. I’m really looking forward to the Freeklime climbing (actually bouldering) centre for the climbers among you! It will be my first time and I have high expectations
Great video! I’m visiting York soon so have been trying to find some youtube vids to find out more about the area and this video was superb. Going to watch your Yorkshire playlist now!
Great video! Thank you for this great list! 🙌😄 I’m looking forward to spending a few months exploring Yorkshire very soon, so your video came in a really good time! haha, cheers! 🤗
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found it helpful! Enjoy your travels around Yorkshire, its an amazing part of the country and I can't wait to head back and find even more things to do!
I’m possibly moving with my family from Cornwall to either west or North Yorkshire. I’m really waning to get back in cycling again like mountain bike cycling. There’s not really any good trails near me in Cornwall. Need a fresh change of any ideas would be appreciated
