"Now they're on the Saint schools." That applies to me so much. I go to the district known as Steel Valley, so 98% of the time, I sit there through about 67 St. schools before they get to my school's name. And about 60% of the time, I sit there waiting for that long, only to find out we don't have a closing or even a delay.
That last joke about Joe Denardo and Jack Lambert having a fight at "14 Springs" with the results eliminating 7 of the springs is the best one I've heard on Pittsburgh Dad. HILARIOUS!
When I started school we were still listening to the radio, then we graduated to TV, Now that I have a kid, thankful for the Text alerts-don't even have to get out of bed !
Another GREAT JOB! I live in Philadelphia, but I grew up in The Burg, and you always "nail it"! Thanks for giving my friends here in Philly a true taste of Pittsburgh!!!
Besides Conneaut Lake...Pymatuning Lake is another popular place that Pittsburgh folks like to visit, camp, fish in the summer. It's right on the PA/OH border. I'm from small town Andover, Ohio where our town gets flooded with Pittsburgh folks who are camping at Pymatuning. :)
my sis and I where always excited for a snow day until 5 minutes later when my dad would say get out there and shovel the snow and shovel the elderly neighbors walks too ,then he would say you forgot to do there back walk ways and you didn't even salt them... after we would get done with that we would go in side and try to get warm ,but my dad would call the house from work and say the snow is really coming down you better get back out there and don't forget to salt! - where from Western PA
My Dad said the same thing on how we're up early to see if school is closed instead of getting ready for school. Also it was my Mom who tells us to shovel the snow.
The irony of this one is that Joe Denardo's grandson (and granddaughter) and Jack Lambert's son were some of the coolest kids to play hockey with, must have been all those snow days.
I was lucky; my school districts were Greensburg-Salem, then Fox Chapel; nowhere near the polar vortex of St. schools! Or Turkeyfoot, Turkeyfoot delays if it flurries, apparently it’s in the area of Seven Springs, which makes sense! 😊
I've not been an official Pittsburgher since I was 16; the chicken croquette plate at Paul's Diner was 75-cents, we shopped at Versheren's and they opened a new Acme on 51 (it smelled "funny"; who KNEW that meant "clean"?), Studebaker spun me into depression with "The Lark", our Brentwood Spartans embarked on another 0-12 season,... and we moved to "FLORR-da" and I stopped biting my nails. The South Hills could be stressful. I've binge-watched Pgh-Dad's vids, and it all comes BACK. I realize I've hauled my "Pittsburgh values" through 21 cities and 11 states in the ensuing 58 years (since leaving yu-unz), and nobody's ever understood me... they just laughed and pointed... but "What care I"? No other UA-cams speak of "flyover country" so eloquently... forGET "hysterically". Some of these latest are some of the very BEST. Bravissimo! (Dobrze dla ciebie!, in Polish.) e.
I went to Belmar,R.L.Vann, Westinghouse and Schenley. After 4th grade I spent the whole morning yelling,"Shut Up!!" until I heard Belmar again. My parents used to make noise to watch me flip out.
OMG...This makes me laugh so hard. St. Sebastian's was nestled inside my school district (North Hills) They were always cancelled while we only had a 2 hour delay. Now that I live in SoMD, we got less than six inches of snow Monday night. School has been out since Tuesday. They cancelled school on the prediction of snow! Never would've happened. Two hour delay, maybe, but no school on the possibility of snow...never!
I went to Plum. When I saw Pine Richland, I knew the next listing would decide my fate for the day and if I'd get to play Sega Genesis all day. If I saw Quaker Valley.. I knew I missed it, and could go to the bathroom while they cycled around. :D
I went to Penn Hills. I would get all ticked off if Plum would be cancelled or delayed and PH wasn't. I'd say they are right beside each other WHY NOT US ???????
My kids are graduated from Pine- Richland. Up until the 1970s, it was called Babcock School District so Plum would have had to wait behind Bethel Park ( my school district) and all the others! LOL
Erk Pik omg yes I'm currently I senior at GATEWAY High School and gateway never delayed or canceled when I was in middle school gateway never really closed
snow days for pps?! i remember we had very few! our bus would pick us up an hour late just to get us to a school that was closing an hour later........
But rural schools closed if you looked at the weather gods wrong. Even in the past like 1940s or 30s. Here is the Pittsburgh Post Gazette archives from Google's ill fated news archives but you can still access them for what they did. news.google.com/newspapers?nid=gL9scSG3K_gC&dat=19690721&b_mode=2&hl=en
You can also get historical weather for Pittsburgh (and other areas) thru NWS NOW Data though I don't see any way to compile it for things like consecutive days of ___ BUT you can get rain and snow data to most places to the late 1800s.
When I was a kid, I would walk one mile uphill in 2 feet of snow to the bus stop and then walk one mile back home ( also uphill) after it snowed another foot! ( Not exactly, but I'm not exaggerating by much)
Rural schools always closed whenever the wind blows wrong. Here is the complete archives of Pittsburgh Post Gazette for you to find out from Google's abandoned news project they once had. news.google.com/newspapers?nid=gL9scSG3K_gC&dat=19690721&b_mode=2&hl=en Post Gazette.
"called the blizzard of 93 a light dusting" hahah
i remember the blizzard of 93.

I went to Allderdice when I lived in PIttsburgh, and we always watched the school closings!
my sis and I where always excited for a snow day until 5 minutes later when my dad would say get out there and shovel the snow and shovel the elderly neighbors walks too ,then he would say you forgot to do there back walk ways and you didn't even salt them... after we would get done with that we would go in side and try to get warm ,but my dad would call the house from work and say the snow is really coming down you better get back out there and don't forget to salt! - where from Western PA
I remember as a kid I use to love school cancellations. Till I got old enough to realize I had to make up the day in summer.
I like this one a lot because P-Dad did not seem to be scolding but just jaggin' the kids.
Never really lived outside of Indiana, but I love this.
+ReasonableMan317 Bville. :)
Just what I needed -- laughs before work! Thank you!
Laugh out loud funny! Thank you Pittsburgh Dad
South Hills came after the Saint Schools... Killed me. I loved this one. Thanks.
LOL! I went to one of those Saint schools when I was a kid. It seemed like it took forever to get to my school.
This script is just great. Dad guy is a snap. Lol
These types of videos are the best out there.
My husband is from Pittsburgh and these videos just crack me up!
It's funny because most of it is true.
I was lucky; my school districts were Greensburg-Salem, then Fox Chapel; nowhere near the polar vortex of St. schools! Or Turkeyfoot, Turkeyfoot delays if it flurries, apparently it’s in the area of Seven Springs, which makes sense! 😊

Great Stuff....looking at the like statistics , we must have 36 Cleveland watchers
OMG...This makes me laugh so hard. St. Sebastian's was nestled inside my school district (North Hills) They were always cancelled while we only had a 2 hour delay. "im joolee buhlowwwnnuhhhh"
Hahahahahaha:) How familiar this sounds:) It reminds me so much of my Pittsburgh dad:)
I went to Gateway which never closed. Not to sound old but I would walk in knee deep snow to go to school.
Erk Pik omg yes I'm currently I senior at GATEWAY High School and gateway never delayed or canceled when I was in middle school gateway never really closed
I hated waiting for the St. Schools!!!!!
I go to Brownsville Area High School. I always know that I either missed it or we're not closed if Butler schools come up. :P
i remember the blizzard of 2010 no school for 1 week because of it
LMAO Joe Denardo... Now that's a name from the past!😵
Yeah, all the Saint schools... like St. Paraphernalia.
Mt. Warshating
This guys accent KILLS me
I wish we have one right now
I'm from Pittsburgh dude

True but we need to be leaned
Not a fan of the added laughter audience stuff.
snow days for pps?! i remember we had very few! our bus would pick us up an hour late just to get us to a school that was closing an hour later........
I live near Pittsburgh and this is so true we have school on MLK day and our Easter Break is shorter
That's odd, in my part of Pittsburgh, there's absolutely no snow.
Joe Denardo said," Yinz can have my lung. I only need one to make the wind anyhows."
PITTSBURGH DAD organizes Neighborhood Watch
Pittsburgh Dad visits Baltimore! Or ikea...or ikea in Baltimore
Pittsburgh Public Schools NEVER EVER closed.

All the Joe DeNardo jokes...xD []
I was one of the "saint" schools"-- had to listen close!!!!!
Lake Effect 😭
Joe Denardo as the Chuck Norris!
Funny
no morning K 9 go away ha ha ha
There was an earth quake in pittsburgh like 3 years ago- maybe after this video- crazy
now a days there's school closings apps.
Did he realize that geauga lakes been closed for almost 10 years now
That's okay, as Geauga Lake Park still lives on on memories!!!
He would actually be funny, if he didn't add that damn laugh track
You're right, why did they have to ruin it with the laugh track??!!!
When I was a kid, I would walk one mile uphill in 2 feet of snow to the bus stop and then walk one mile back home ( also uphill) after it snowed another foot! ( Not exactly, but I'm not exaggerating by much)
OK I gave up on the NFL but I still like "Pittsburgh Dad"
Pittsburgh Dad watches Sailor Moon. That would be hilarious.
Your videos are hysterical, and I'm not from PITT.
Joe DeNardo! For the Win!🖤💛🖤💛

Does Pittsburgh Dad have a first name?
Love Pittsburgh Dad. Lose the laugh track. I'm begging you.
Are Joe Denardo and Chick Norris related?
