it literally can not come down to gunther and dragunov as they're both on raw. best case scenario is they meet in the semi finals, but i'm not convince they'll have jey uso lose next week.

Something that I found particularly interesting about the latest Uncle Howdy tease is the text "Drink from his suffering" because on the same episode, they played a video package for Ilja Dragunov said he drinks from the chalice of suffering until Hell feels like home.
And then, the word puzzle mentions Hell only being a word.
Could just be a coincidence of course, but I can't shake off the feeling that it might imply an involvement with Uncle Howdy, be it as an ally or a target.

Except for the fact that King & Queen of The Ring is taking place in ugh saudi arabia, very excited about this new edition of the seminal tournament. All the qualifying matches on Raw were really good. Dragunov vs Ricochet was amazing, Walter vs Sheamus never disappoints although Sheamus STILL unable to get a single win against The Ring General, sucks that Drew is still hurt & had to be pulled but Main Event Jey filling in was a great call and he & Finn were both awesome plus Jey talking about the French WWE Fans paying tribute to Bray Wyatt at Backlash was just so heartfelt. Can't wait to see the next batch of qualifying matches this Friday on SD. I'm hoping that LA Knight wins King of The Ring🤞🤞
I hope Becky can close the book on Liv for good & proceed to reignite her rivalry with Lyra. Those two had such a great match over The NXT Women's Championship and I'd love to see Becky & Lyra go at it one more time with Becky's Raw Women's Title on the line.
Just have Dragunov get pulled from the tournament in a DQ or something. Gunther vs. Dragunov shouldn't be in the middle of the tournament, and if it can't be the final (which it can't be since they're both on RAW) it needs to be saved for later.
The last time I looked at a KotR bracket and mapped out who I thought was going to win was in 1995. Never again.

Gunther and Dragunov can face off in the semifinals but not in the finals, they're both Raw superstars.
It's too early for Gunther and Ilja, save that for Berlin! Think we'll see Vinci cost Gunther the match against MEJU.
If they're going to have a few of the matches on non televised events they should at least post the finishes of those matches on youtube.

I'm so confused, everyone is saying qualifying matches but the graphics say 1st round so which is it?
Traditionally the "first round" of KotR is the quarter finals, so the round before that is "the qualifying round". It's stupid but consistent with how they usually do it.
I mean it's both, realistically. The King & Queen of the Ring is the actual PLE so the Raw/SD matches are both rounds/stages *_and_* qualifiers for the event itself.
Only the Raw vs Smackdown finals will be on the PLE itself so it's just po-tay-to/po-tah-to when it comes to how you name the tournament matches, really.

The return of Howdy & friends has me worried. We love Bray and the worl he did but i think we forget how much of it was big build ups like this for things to flounder pretty quick. It may be a different era but my expectations of them being able to pull off something as out there as this needs to be to honor Bray are very low

Single night King of the Ring tourney or it's meaningless garbage. Event has been horrible ever since they started doing multi week ones. I was so hyped when they said they were bringing it back, thinking it was the old school single night tournaments. What a let down, will just be another basic a$$ PLE with the King of the Ring banner slapped on it. Why do they feel the need to make EVERY damn PLE feel the same? Single night tournament, winner gets title shot at SummerSlam, boom, done. It's not f'ing hard.
