Izzy must be the most polite brickie in the business, always says pardon instead of whatttt!...looking at that roof overhang it strikes me that apart from no wall ties, it's possible that water has hit behind that which hasn't helped...shouldn't you have at least 2 inches of tile overhang for that reason??
Sad fact is when I grew up in Hungary, bricklayers were referred to as lowlife alcoholics. I had no clue what a bricklayer actually does but since that was what I heard that was what I believed. As a grown man and as a house owner I know (and that is what I teach my kids) bricklayers are one of the most important tradesmen, without you guys we don`t have a bloody roof over our heads. And you Izzy represent this awesome trade with style and make the viewer want to see more.
Thank you very much mate, I really appreciate your kind words! It's a brilliant trade to be in and important as you said! Some people think its easy or doesn't take much thought, but it does and it takes a long time to be coincided a "good bricklayer" Genuinely, thanks again mate 🙏🙏🙏 have a brilliant week
Brilliant work buddy! I wonder what the other brickys were thinking not adding ties to a gable that would hold that much weight..🙄🤔 Anyways, keep up the brilliant work as always and sorry about my absence on your last video, been very busy preparing for my driving test! Looking forward to the next one! 👌😁👍👷♂️🧱🍻🍻
Haha no clue bro! There's me thinking ties ain't that important 😉😂 Aah no need to apologize at all mate and that's awesome mate! Best of luck fella! Sure you'll do Brilliant🚗🚗🚗🏎️💪💪😂
I find the same thing, when you knock down old walls down you somehow lose a percentage as some brake...but it all looks good, you pulled it off as you only Saturday and most brick salvage yards close at 12 noon. Well done bro
I'm from America, love following a bunch of UK bricklayers. The trade is dying here and not often done. What im wondering do you ever still use a traditional stretcher course as a tie? It seems like it would be much stronger and reliable than the new age steel ties. Especially seems practical in places that won't be seen much. But personally a true stretcher thats structural doesn't look ugly, why do you guys only use steel ties?
Hi Benjamin 👍 thanks for watching buddy, nice to have some lads from the US watching 👊💪 We don't often use a stretcher to tie in brickwork because we always have a cavity over here. On a garden wall we use headers to tie the wall in. Back in the day, all houses in England were built Flemish bond/English bond. So the external Brickwork use to tie in the internal Brickwork. However this can cause damp to travel across from the face of the house to the internal walls. So nowerdays we use a cavity and instead of headers to tie in the wall, we use wall Ties Hope your very well mate!
You should have figured if you had enough to finish up before you started. Mix the other new brick in the entire wall. I would have put cement on some of the new brick's faces. Now it looks like a stripe. It can be seen from the other buildings. It can be seen by the most important person which is you. 😳 Also if you have a bend in a wall you never leave a lip You set or twig the line out in the center and let the wall go back to a straight line slowly and not have a lip. Anyone can see the lip but never a bend because the never can sight the wall after it's up
Yea don't know how we didn't have enough really. Funny you say mixing then up. After we built it I said we should have mixed them up🤦🤔 Thanks for the tip on the lip mate. We just wanted to get right straight away. Luckily the AC units will be there, however that's good to know for next time mate 👍👍 Appreciate your feedback as always mate
Next time put a line from base brick to you finish point or peak in this case. Set center brick at that line and set line to it. Then it will be as gradual and even as possible. If you can't look down on a wall line you really have to have a bad now to see it after the wall is up.
