- After the catastrophic failure of my Marmot Limelight P3's rain fly I recieved a replacement tent and proceeded to give it a water test before I took it out on an actual camping trip.
Marmot has a lifetime warrantee on their tents, which they honored. The new tent performed perfectly on my test.
Yes I recently lost a tooth. Brush your teeth kids.
Thx for video. Customer service is everything.
I have the Tungsten UL 3p. Insanely durable for how much mesh it has. So light. Can guy the tarp out well in some nasty weather. Got it in AZ for summer camping and now I’m in WA. It’s rough below 40-45° even though I have a phenomenal sleeping bag (Big Agnes Torchlight 20), as my dog gets a little chilly.
I have a Thor 3p winter tent, and I can actually use in summer cause I just open it up. But it you in the morning sun lol. And it’s heavy and big and overkill for summer camping. Thinking about the Vapor to replace an older REI Cirque ASL. REI has an Arete ASL but it’s spendy.
Nice tent!! Cool that the company honored their guarantee, too. Good to know. We have a brand new never-put-up tent somewhere around here that we should probably locate & send your way so someone was actually USING it.... heh.
I have used Marmot tents for a long time along with other gear. Never failed me. I broke a pole burnt a hole those kind of things. But the quality was great and the function was solid. Glad to see they sent you a new tent.
I was really surprised when my first one failed so spectacularly but I feel like the company treated me well am excited to use the new one for real.
I have the Marmot Tungsten 4P and love it!
My new Marmot Halo has pretty poor QC. Tons of tears in the brand new mesh.
If you bought it like that I'd say call them out on it! I was surprised how well they responded to the failure of my first 3p. All these companies are running scared now. Last thing they want is someone out there dropping negative reviews 😉😉
Good customer service will guarantee return customers!
Looks like a good one👍
Hopefully it'll last!
Nice job.
Cool that they honored the lifetime warranty!
It wasn't easy getting through to them and I had to do a lot of things to get it done but it's all good for now.
"Hello and welcome to the Slingshot Channel!"
Got it! 😆
I am in the exact same situation with my orange Limelight 2p. I've had it 2 years and used it 6 times before I hit any rain and the fly failed in the same manner. Water beads and soaks right through to the body as if there is no waterproofing. And 5 of the 6 velcro tabs pulled off after the wind. I wonder if there is an issue with the orange fabric as my buddy has a green Tungsten 3p and it was dry inside. So now I'm waiting for Marmot to contact me with their remedy and I hope for the same outcome as yours. Thanks for the video!
Interesting. You could be right, maybe they had a bad run of the orange material. IMarmot were quick to make good with me, I hope it works out the same for you.
Also after it rains a little bit of suggestion look around inside the tent for any dew or any moisture cuz I used to have a tent a long time ago marmont and they used to be a collecting of moisture even your clothes feel like they're damp but they're not damn they feel just like that wet do we feeling
With a well-ventilated design like this there wouldn't be any condensation issues, especially in a Florida summer. Besides it wasn't wet inside in the morning but after the rainstorm it was soaked. Marmot agreed with me and got me a new tent that works. Thanks for jumping in with a comment, Lora.
It's a pretty safe bet that if you have water pooling on your rain fly, the tent is not set up properly. I am betting that if you had staked the tent and used the guy lines as intended that you would have had a much drier experience.
Marmot disagreed with you on that.
Even though testing is good but I find putting a tarp on top of the tent acts as a shield
That's what a rain fly is for
:I
I know that but a tarp ads for more protection
@@loraweeks7536 and more weight plus defeating the purpose of the fly.
Huge vestibule
Oh yeah, on both sides too. Two people could fit inside and put their packs in the respective vestibules easily.
It's called a sale's reciept! Not a bad video, but always remember, your audience are adults 😁✌🏼 Take care of yourself!
Thanks Chris. I like to keep things "family friendly" but maybe I can slip in some mild swearing or some side boob shots if the opportunity arises for all the adults.
