The car is completely standard. However, these which are the same as the Chevrolet Caprices sold in the US, are an absolute animal for a stock car. This blew our minds, with what it could do!!

I have a 2016 WN Caprice V series II (in the same colour) and it is an absolute rocket. The LS3 is much stronger than the previous 6.0 litre - I had a WL Statesman 6.0 lt prior to the Caprice and the difference is immediately obvious. While it is very quick from a standing start (I made a young guy in a WRX look pretty silly the other day) its main strength is its amazing in-gear acceleration - when passing on the highway it will hit high 3 digit speeds from 80 kph in seconds - just awesome.
+Geoff Johnston we only got to have this car for a few days while we were in Sydney but we all couldn't believe the performance. For a standard car in that price range it's mind blowing. Not to mention how luxurious it is. Hope you keep enjoying yours. Thanks for watching our video too 😊

One of these blew the doors off my 300 rwkw XR6 Turbo.......I thought 'how can that be' I pulled over, clamp had let go, crossover manifold rubber had blown off.......no boost.....time for a new clamp ;-) Love these Caprices by the way, I'd love one in my driveway, best of both worlds....Holden Grunt and Ford Boost :) LUV Aussie cars

Today the Accord's 2.0T can keep up with this Caprice SS. Unbelievable how fast the Honda's have become.
The v6 accord would beat this. The 2.0t would CHOP it lmao.

What the hell, put it on performance mode in the shifter and also hold the traction control button for at least 10 seconds after the traction control light comes on ,that way the Competition mode should come on, as orange or red light should be right next to the traction control off light,( not sure for manuals) then do the test its a lot more quicker shifts, but still good real good car, also its the only car which has little led lights to illuminate the door handles in the rear doors, not even the calais has them, only the caprice v, which makes you wonder why not have all the models with the little led light on the rear doors and also i would love to see real good quality chrome and gold badges for the center or middle headrest are with caprice wording and the same with calais or redline and HSV models, no point just the HSV which has the center console with HSV and build no, need little touches which makes every car special and because it was the last model made they should have did that IMHO. :)

7071t6 yes you can see the torque management interfere in the second launch. Need to turn the stability control off. Is it called stabiltrak there?
I know this was many years ago but : I have a 2014 6lr Caprice with mods. I can get 0-100 in 4 secs. Mods on the LS3 is insane !!!
Daaamnn... It is 0.2 s slower than 2.0 E class 245 horsepower, also RWD version. It shows that there was always something wrong with those n/a V8. Holden got almost twice the power of E class and not that huge differance in weight, and it does nothing to acceleration. But it does not affect my good opinion about Caprice witch I realy like.
TachoManPL those times are with 3 people in the car on an incline with a non prepped surface it’s easy gonna pull a 5.5 or less
PDrive got a WN series 1 (L77 6 ltr with 260kw) to do a 5.9 over 0-100. The 6.4 recorded here is way off the pace for a series 2 LS3.
3 pax, surface, incline, traction control not deactivated (you can hear it pause for a good half second after the initial spin before it gets going again).
I would expect mid 5s all day long here.
The guy talking about the E200 or whatever, you are kidding yourself. Enjoy your euro barge, the Caprice will out drive it every day.
America is still missing a good bunch of cars. Some cars which are exclusively sold only in the Middle East such as Nissan Patrol Nismo, Chevrolet/Holden Caprice SS, Lumina SS.
This car looks like an Audi A8 with Opel Vectra design theme
I believe the caprice v has TPS and also the rear door handles have the Blue LEd lighting as well, which is what i was going to put on my SSV redline, which none of them have the LED lighting for the rear door handles, Spewing really has everything else but some of the basics which is electric seats adjustment for the passenger and the LED lighting for the rear door handles, and a few other things and i think even the Calais does not have the LEd door handle lighting, very very weird ?

World has been changed. Now a 2.0 Turbocharged engine does 4.5 sec 0-100km and much better fuel economy.
go karts are faster,not the point...all the torque is at back wheels not in the drivers seat ,and only room for midgets in passenger seats.
but this car is a ol school long wheel base large luxury sedan. they don't make em like this anymore

@@jasonblanch8769 I got a 2.0t I-4 2015 infinity Q50, about 250k KM, running still perfectly with 0 issues.

I got 5.3 in my Wn Series 1 but its got an exhaust, tune and air intake. Wasnt the best conditions either

What my 2015 SSV redline does it in 5 flat 0 to 100KM Average and some days it will do it in 5.3 seconds, yet its a 6lt and not the LS3 6.2 liter as well ?
Even with a 6.2L V8 this thing takes 6.4 seconds to reach 100, the tiny 2.0L Turbo charged Honda Accord can do it in 5.8 seconds, it goes to show how efficient Honda's engine is.

Is the bi modal system even activated on this? Doesn't sound as good as the SS range.
It definitely wasn't activated. We didn't even notice if it had that as an option, to be honest. Assumed the Caprice models were aimed more at the luxury side of things.
+Zero To 60 Should've had a fiddle around with the settings.
If you do get another chance in a VFII SS range, please be sure to activate it. There aren't many good videos of it.
The Caprice doesn't have the bi-modal exhaust or the interior noise enhancer even as an option. It's aimed more at the luxury end of the market.
Number12interdan Very odd. Why would anyone pay that premium for the exact same interior as the Calais, but lose out on such a great noise.

Is it properly run in? My 06 Caprice with 180,000ks on it will do mid 5's. That with driver only though. Maybe having three people on board slows it too.....
+james soothill, if you can make it to the end of the vid we found a better road and got 5.6 only had one camera going. It was a rental car, so who knows if it's been babied or driven hard. But it was very very impressive for a non hsv. In fact we've been watching the prices ever since that weekend, hopefully be able to replace our VY daily with one soon. Awesome awesome cars!
They go as hard as an HSV. Mine has an Xforce dual system only. Lovell springs, comp shocks, comp sway bars. Running 255s on stock VE Caprice Rims. Will equal anything on the road it does not leave absolutely behind.....

My understanding is you can’t if you want to register it. You would need the bulk head and vins from a us car and then swap parts over.

+16 nah, at the end of the Caprice vid, they did find a better road, it pulled mid 5s from memory. The traction was terrible for the main runs of the vid.
+16 worth keeping mind caprice was nearly new. The XR6t was well run in.
Zero To 60 mind you the xr6 had shit tyres my mine does 5.2
there were 3 blokes in the car, thats an extra 200+kg & they take about 15k km to run in.
It would be similar off the mark but boost would probably open up a fair gap, if the FG Turbo was tuned/modded forget it, you'd probably need a cam to catch it. But the LS3 is very capable considering the weight, not to mention 3 blokes on board.
Just the driver near empty tank the time would be better no doubt

+MegaUnavailableusern did you watch to the end, cos it's not slow at all? We do real world comparisons, I guess, as if you were giving one a run off a set of lights with people in the car, used tyres, fuel in the car etc. Not perfect condition drag strip times. It's a lot more relevant to most people out there.
