- Fixing your broken football boots - is it even possible to repair or fix your football boots, and should you do it? Today, JayMike look into how to fix or repair your broken football boots and whether you should be doing it at all. Of course, no one likes playing with broken football boots, and it might seem like a quick fix to either give them a bit of super glue or tape up the sole separation to try and repair them - but actually, you shouldn't necessarily do it without thinking about the consequences. First of all, fixing your football boots yourself won't make them last over the longer term - no glue is simply strong enough to fix a broken football boot whether it be sole separation, lace holes snapping on the boots or even a stud breaking. So don't try to repair them yourself. The football boot manufacturers use a very strong bonding process when they make the boots, and even the strongest super glue won't be able to fix or repair the football boots if they break down. They might work for a little while, but will quickly break again. The other reason you should fix your football boots yourself is that you might void the warranty when doing so. Warranty on football boots is made to make sure you're covered if there's a manufacturing fault - but you're NOT covered by the warranty in case you use the football boots in the wrong way. That could for instance be using FG football boots on AG grass or in any way tampering with or amending your football boots. Making a quick fix falls into the latter category and thus isn't something we recommend doing. Instead, call the store where you bought your football boots instead of trying to broken boots yourself and we will help you out.

My boots actually came completely apart last friday! Complete sole separation. They’re the Nike Total 90 Steam, lasted me 11 years CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! It was their time to go but I actually took them to a shoe repair store and asked if anything could be done since I have absolutely no money for a new pair. They fixed them but I’m not sure if I should use them again, I don’t want to get injured. Btw Love the videos!

back in 1998, when I was still in high school, my school mate and I both bought a pair of Predator Accelerator, we both played only on grass pitch and just after 2 weeks or so, both of us found one of the studs on our boots started to break apart (considering we were slim like about 110-120lbs in weight only), we called the local adidas (Hong Kong), quite surprised that they reply that the first FG model being sold in HK was not suitable for HK's grass pitches (the studs on the FG back in 1998 were a lot longer then the FG's now) so we took our still-quite-new Predator Accelerator back to the adidas shop and replaced to a pair of HG, and they perform perfectly. Kudos to adidas.
Followed your advise and pleased to say Puma has outstanding customer service!they stayed in communication with me at multiple point during the review process and ultimately gave me a credit to their website and offered to reimburse me for expedited shipping as well! My experience with adidas was not the same as after 2 months of use the Copa Sense was separating at the bottoms plate and they told me it looked like normal wear and tear.
When I was 17 I purchased a pair of tiempo legend iv elite euro edition and wore them for about 2 games, they were instantly broken in and were hands down the best boots ive worn. My 6 month puppy also thought they were amazing so she decided to take the entire toebox off the right shoe. Definitely my worst boot tragedy...
I've glued boots and trainers in the past and they have been fine. It all depends on what quality glue you have and the amount used. I suppose if you have very expensive boots, then the warranty route is the best option.

Here in the Philippines, we have people who goes from town to town with their bike and shouting "shoe repair" then people shout if they want their shoes to be sewed. Anything can be fixed, from slippers to football boots. Plus my broken boot which I own for almost a year and a half got sole separation and I went to get it sewed and the shoes lasted for a long time until my dad bought me a cheap pair in a garage sale.
Well my worst experience would be with the first gen adidas F50...... both boots had sole separation and on one of them had the sole plate cracked in half.... long story short i fixed them myself since that happened during a game and i had another one the same day. I used them like that for about two weeks, saved up and bought the adidas predator adipower that i still have up to date.

Great video.. When I was playing football in Thailand there were some pretty cool shoe repairers that my thai team mates showed me.. They would stitch the whole shoe around the outside with a thread machine that would go through the bottom of the sole.. it extended the shoe by a few months for a couple dollars. I have also used the tape solutipn in the past lol... but over time I have learnt the best thing is if your playing at a higher level it's better to just buy some new boots like you said. A hole in a boot will effect your game and may be the difference between winning and losing.

had bought a tiempo once...it broke down....then bought an ace 17.3 which again broke down....then at last had to stop on a pair of kipstas LOL. had to buy 3 boots in a month

I got a pair of Adidas PREDATOR TANGO Astro Soccer Shoes back when it was just launched. Cost about $130 SGD then, it opened up on me in 2 games on the astro turf here. Pretty sad and got it sewed/stitched and it has last me till today. Recently the stitch started to break at the front and it opened up a little but I got many good years and game from it already. RIP good lasting predators of the past.

Oh my God, it remember one time in trainning, the sole of my cleats broke. We were playing on grass so it was even more embarrassing that now everyone knows I was wearing Astros on grass so that explains why I keep slipping 😂🤣
I was playing rugby in 2015 and my studplate literally fell off. I wrapped tape around it and kept playing. Unless it is un-tapable, it is not broken. Peeling just shows you use em.
What about if the upper has a cut on it, should i then put some glue on it?

Puma boots suck have had 3 pairs of futures all the most expensive, puma refused to refund the entire amount 2 out of 3 times due to manufacturing fault
@@propersuspect2959 omg i have the exact same problem. I have had the puma one 5.1 and they got sole separated. Then i got a pair of mercurials and they are still in good condition after one and a half season. Now i got a pair of future 6.1 low and after a month the sole seperation already started.

My soleplate became completely detached in the toe box area in the middle of a game
I was in the middle of a game then my soleplate just fell off 😂 I eventually played without a soleplate for 5 minutes and I almost scored a great goal then when I came off the pitch I put that pair of boots away and slapped on some Nike premiers

What about fixing a tear caused by someone stepping on your foot? It's a very clean tear on the toe area.
stitch it yourself and if possible apply a small amount of super glue to make it last just a bit longer
So I refuse to wear any clear but the 2014 World Cup adidas f150 predators. I have a couple pairs, and they’re pretty much impossible to find on market. My one pair has some stringing that is loose. Do I wait until both shoes are needing repair or do I go now?

In 2015, I was using a pair of Diadora's when the entire studplate peeled off mid run. I had to go to the sideline and use medical tape to reattach it. Thankfully, I got new cleats that night, also Diadora's. They ended up separating at the toe box on my first kick at a practice though 7 months later. Haven't gone Diadora ever since.

Yo super glue would ruin the upper, there's a specific glue that is meant to be used on shoes and to fix sole separations. Which you can find it in a hardware store .

You wouldn't believe but a week after i bought my copa 19.3 fgs they started to fall apart and it was heart breaking gor me because a friend of my dad's gifted it to me and was baught in bahrain and I am in India.....and most probably i can't even avail for a warranty....and it is difficult for me to get the same quality of boots for cheap...hufff this is such a bummer i tell you. I still play with broken boots and the damage is just increasing...idk what to do!!!😢

If there is match tomorrow , and your boots break and you don't have shops near you then you must fix it yourself .. But if your boots are broken but there is no match the next day then you must buy a new one or use warranty ... Amazing video #unisportlife !! :-)
