I am new to flexy, we just installed yesterday (10/24/2023) and doing my first printing job today 10/25, we stop using onyx as it is not too bad, but so many clicks to do things and refer to this video for reference.
@@BoredThatsWhy honestly, I stop using it, for every job, when select the paper, I have to do it in 3 places, and changing one window to another is very slow.
@@BoredThatsWhy I mean, I can use it, but I have not been able to print and cut in flexi, fir that reason, I use onyx. We goy onyx to run our HP and Mimaki flat bed, but the colors on mimaki are no consistent, for mimaki we use Rasterlink.
I finished watching this video and I have a questions, at the contour cut and perf options, you do the kiss cut first (of course) than the perf cut about 1/16" or in the same kiss cut line?
Hi, @palo_mudo, thank you for your comment. Create a second cut line assigning it a different color and make sure it is around .25" outside your kiss cut line. In your cut settings make sure it is also assigned to a perf cut setting on the cutter.
Great video. Is there any option to put the cutter's marks in a small piece of paper? I mean, I want to print a simple star (for example) in a A3 paper size using illustrator, I would like to put these marks in this design and after print it, Then take this printed A3 design and put the paper in my cutter machine and that can recognize these marks and cut the printed paper correctly. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback! You can cut small stars but would need to print on a roll media and then feed the roll media into the cutter with the appropriate registration marks.
Thank you for this video! I have a question. When i put my design into FX and make it transparent, for some reason it keeps becoming pixelated. When I print out the design it still looks super pixelated. I cannot for the life of my figure out why it is doing this! The design is a logo by the way if that means anything.
Hi Resa, thank you for your comment! This is a situation where we would need to see the file that you are working with. Please reach out to your IT Supplies representative to arrange this. You can call us at 1-800-771-9665 or email us at info@itsupplies.com
could you explain why cut preview and actual plotter cutting is not in the same order. I have HP print and cut, i arrange step and reapeat stickers, then i order cutting by Y axis, then I look cut preview and send a job. But cutter actually cuts not according to this but randomly. Please explain why and how to fix this? Thanks
Good day and thanks for the video. Most times I find the barcode option works perfectly as it should, but on three occasions the Summa cutter cut the graphics out incorrectly reading the bottom and top incorrectly. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the video. We have the HP Latex 64 Plus Cutter. For some reason, the cutter has begun cutting in the wrong place resulting in graphics being destroyed. We are not certain but it seems misaligned. We did a return to factory settings to see if the problem would be corrected but sure enough, it continued to miscut the material. Any ideas on how to solve this matter?
Hi Henry Dorris, thank you for your question. There may be a couple different things happening. It's possible your pinch rollers are slipping due to the weight of the media you're running. You'll want to make sure all of the pinch rollers are set at the same strength. You can check this by going to the back of each of the pinch rollers and making sure all the levers are at the same tension. Another possibility is the calibration of the OPOS Barcode, the piece responsible for making sure the cuts go in the correct place, is out of date and may need to be performed. You can find the directions on how to Calibrate the OPOS Barcode on page 50 of the User's Guide here: h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05532650. We hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to our tech team through email - techs@itsupplies.com. Thank you!
Hi, we were doing a contour cut of a fruit ( an apple) but it only cut half of the apple and the other half did not do anything. Can you help me with this problem?
Hi Sydney, thank you for your question! If you are looking to change your contour cut from a square to a circle, you can change the type of cut from Rectangle to Ellipse within the contour cut properties menu. If you are starting with a circle sticker image, you can also use the Contour option to get a circle cut line around the sticker. You do want to make sure your images have a transparent background, otherwise the default cut will be a square around the entire image. If you have any questions, give us a call at 800-771-9665 and ask to speak with a Technical Support Specialist.
Hi Jack Wakeley, thank you for your question. There are two main ways to make internal contour cuts with a full outside cut as well. First, you want to make one contour cut that goes around the contour of the image - for this to work the image file needs to have transparency and be in a file format that keeps transparency (PNG, PDF, TIF, PSD, AI, EPS, etc.) - if you have text or holes in your file, you want to make sure you select "with holes" to get internal cuts. Once that's finished, you can highlight the entire image with the first finished contour cut and add a second contour cut that you can set to a rectangle or an ellipse and surround the entire image with that. When you go to print and cut, you can set your first contour cut to "Kiss Cut" and the second contour cut to "Cut Through" for the image to cut out like a sticker, or you can set both to "Kiss Cut" if you don't want the entire image cut out. The second method is to have a vector file still in an Adobe Illustrator file format (AI, EPS, PDF). Flexi will detect all paths when you highlight the image, including internal cuts. This way, you can set all paths to take the same contour cut settings. I hope this helps!
I have a question. I have a Latex 315 with the Cutter 54. Some of my jobs seem to run the cut-through passes twice which is awesome because the stickers fall right out, but half the time with no settings changes to the job. They only do a single pass on the outer edge and its much more difficult to separate them. Thoughts?
new to the printing arena and wondering the same thing.. we had multiple cuts and i racked my brain trying different things to stop it.. it seems when we added the contour cut marks, it added another cut line.. still learning :D setting up the shortcut keys is a big time saver also.. file/workspace/customize
Hi, we would recommend you reaching out to Flexi directly as there are different versions for different countries - here is their technical support link : www.thinksai.com/contact
The error you will eventually encounter is "Unable to sense OPOS xy correction line." Then the HP (Summa) cutter won't read the barcode and won't cut anything.

Is there a way to adjust where the sheet cuts off. No a contour cut but just sheet off. Mine is leaving too much space
