This is one of the greatest things I've ever heard!!
Nothing short of brilliant. Particularly bringing this track in its entirety through to an acoustic guitar, notably the crazy M Barre interlude/link. I suspect that was difficult and took some work. Bravo!
Agreed!
Sheeeit (pronounced she-it, all together) this was great. Thanks for all these JT memories. Fantastic.
Whoops! The whole thing arranged in acoustic!
This is pretty luxurious...you're a real worker!
Amazing and beautifully done especially all these cross key, fiddly bits and tempo changes evident in this song,. Stewart, you're probably on track for a record, for the most Tull covers by a single artist, well done
I could watch Stewart for ever great picking etc magic as always love it
Wow, man !! Well done on playing the whole song, including the solo and hard rock final :D
there are quite a few people doing JT covers, but very few could nail the vocals like you. ians phrasing and embelishments are aparently very, very tricky afair, much like his guitar playing. it looks.. fine and then the horror. again, much respect for what you are doing.
You aren't kidding on the vocals. I think he might be Ian Anderson's illegitimate son.
Agreed the best song on the seventies
How can you be so amazing???
This is a long complicated insane song to learn. Congrats on making it look easy!
Thanks so much Drew
I am blown away by every single cover you do. Most of these are not "one-man band" tunes, yet you make them brilliantly.
Thanks so much Joe
My favorite from JT! 🤩 And I thought this was gonna be a hard one to pull off but yet again you somehow managed make it sound so WHOLE despite "only" using guitar and voice. Great job on that crazy middle section! 👏
I am speechless, as always :-)
That was awe inspiring Stewart. I thought only one guitarist on the planet could play this in its entirety. There's really two. Super job. Hopefully one day you'll turn yourself around and power up the good looking Yamaha electric piano for us all to enjoy!!
An acoustic piano.
Gracias por recrear las canciones de ese tremendo album. Es uno de los que mas quiero de Jethro. Y no es facil de tocarlo!!!! Saludos
My first thought when I saw that this was today's song was that you would do a "radio cut" and skip the middle crazy guitar solo.
STEWART - The pick with no fear!
KUDOS!
From Candi and Bob, WONDERFUL.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🍻🍻🍻
Bravo mate!!! Well done, very well done!!!!
My favorite Tull song I cant play on guitar and youve done it brilliantly!!! 👏👏👏👏
Just love this .... well done... a great song from one of my all time favourite albums... great version beautifully played ...
A true Tull masterpiece that has stood the test of time and I saw the Minstrel tour.
Superb. Special congratulations on performing Martin's electric guitar parts so well.
Stewart , once again make me smile & give up my shoddy playing 😂❤
Oh no. Never give up!
More than OK, Stewart - impressive acoustic interpretation. Well done!!
Wildly impressive! Thank you for your focus/follow-through.
Cheers, absolutely brilliant! Everyone else had it transposed in bar chord open form which obviosly incorrect. Well done! Thank you Stewart
Absolutely incredible again. I love it!
you're definitely my hero
wow! Many instruments in only one! I would wish this technique 👏👏👏
I laughed out loud when you said, “I hope that was okay”.
Okay?? How about God-tier
Bad ass! One of my favs and great acoustic version. You nailed it!
That was well done!!
Beautiful rendition! \m/
Amazing, Stewart! Thanks for this, mate.
Chapeau
Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful.
wow
Another excellent installment brother. You play very cleanly. Love it.
Brilliant note perfect martin barrres'gonna have to keep an eye on you mate
Excellent job! This is so fantastic! I’ve been following you for a while, and now I’m wondering if Ian is giving you private lessons. 😊 I like how you try to encompass the gist of the whole song… You cover so many parts, it makes these really complex songs seem so much easier. I love it!
It would be awesome if we could jam some time on Tull tunes, because we both love doing that so much. You’ve taught me a lot.. Thank you!
Cheers!
Holy cow. That was incredible. Ian couldn't even pull that off...
Outstanding
Incredibile! Sei bravissimo .
Very, very good!
Amazing job. Hit every little detail and nuance. Love it.
Thank you very much
Awesome!
Truly excellent! Thank you for sharing!
Bravo!
This is great! Thank you!
That' what I call REMARKABLE!
👌👌
Very very nice. Extremely impressive. A hard song to play I'm sure with the Martin part connecting the 2 parts played perfectly. Nice job!!👏👏👏
Amazing!!!
Ah thank you André
Bravo at last ! one of my favorites......
im gonna learn that song watching you playing ...
thanks .
a rather complex song........not easy to play.....genial composition....
Stewart Wood should have at least 100,000 subscribers. This is a difficult piece of work, and harder still to do on one, single instrument. Bravo.....
Thank you very much
Wow - just magic!
Fantastic!
Another great one, mate! Cheers!🍻
Love it. Very happy I came across your channel!
Awesome cover man!

Sensacional. Muito bom

Greetings from Italy!
Wow! What a surprisingly nice singing!
Congratulations , felicitaciones , magnifica interpretación de una de las maravillosas canciones de JT
Absolutely wonderful! Are you sure you're not Ian Anderson's long lost son?
Absolutely awesome...well done. This is why UA-cam is awesome.
Ah thanks very much
Well done! That’s was awesome!

@@DailySporran you have the english style, english talent and english look ! From à French admirer. F... Brexit !
Stewart, just discovered your channel in the last couple of days. You're going fabulous stuff. This is particularly enjoyable. Thank you
Thanks very much Nick. Do tell your friends!
@@DailySporran I certainly will, but the level of obsessive devotion required to fully appreciate what you’re doing would narrow down to my great old mate Rob Cox - and I recall us trying to pick out Wond’rin’g Aloud on our acoustics in about ‘95 when we lived in Bristol. He’s also ‘strawberry blond’ and much missed while I’m caught in Malaysia unable to travel
Noice
Amazing as always, I'd love to hear you plug in for Martin's part! A question on how you're playing it: I can muddle my way through the acoustic beginning, but there's a part that never sounds right to me. I've watched a video of Ian playing it, and when I do what it looks like he's doing, it sounds off. It's that barre chord that you slide up the neck on "...gallery" and "...spaces". It sounds perfect the way you're doing it, though Ian isn't using a barre chord there - you can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/m_lQ0H4zZEA/v-deo.html. What chord shape are you playing?
Many thanks Alex. Actually he is playing the same chord as me. What some guitarists do is play the F-shape chord without a barring shape, by using their thumb to play the tonic note on the bottom E-string, which leaves the rest of the hand able to do the remainder of the chord with the remaining fingers. It is easier to do slides that way for some people - which of course is what he does here: slide from F to G on "gallery" & "spaces". So he is playing the same notes as me with a different shape. (Interestingly he is playing it with the capo on fret 3 here live in 1976, but on the recording it is on fret 2, a semitone lower, as I played it here - probably because much of the other stuff he plays is on fret 3, and in the shortened version they played live the key continuity is less important)
@@DailySporran thanks, I should have thought to look at his thumb there! He does something similar on "Velvet Green". Any chance that one is in the queue?
@@alexbrands5653 Velvet Green: Kind Stewart should you voyage back to continue your guitar craft here, that is my humble request or 2nd nomination!! Royal David
@@alexbrands5653 Velvet Green - ah yes. My wife (on flute) and I (on guitar) have been trying to get it right for a year now. Stewart will probably come along and whip up a brilliant version in a couple of days!
Wonderful! The only thing that could of possibly made it better would of been Jeffrey Hammond coming in during the second part of the song and playing bass while skipping around the stage, I mean room.
Frank Kolton Many thanks Frank
Greetings again from JLM to Lord Wood of Anfield. Might I be the first subscriber to your prominent day job?? All the best!!
Thanks David. Forgive me but what is JLM? I'm sure I will kick myself when you tell me...
@@DailySporran Not so obvious. Jerusalem - I am an enthusiast on both of your activities. Stay well and looking forward to more songs and your doings as a Minstrel in the BIGGER Gallery in WM! I will write to you separately there soon🖖
I told my wife the other day that if I were to show up at a guitar tryout and when I arrived they told me I would need to learn this song, I would say "see ya". VERY impressive. They don't make songs like this anymore. How long did it take you to learn the entire thing?
Thanks very much Steve, really kind of you.
You are pretty good at that you know?
What are the chords? I get lost the second a capo gets attached.
Thanks!
awesome - need to get you a good mic so we can hear you better
