oh my gosh that be nice have a sonor drums
Is there much difference between the jungle and the micro? I can hear the difference mic'd, but is there much difference acoustic? I bought the micro, but am returning it, because it feels and sounds too small to me. I liked all the all pieces, so figured I would just go up to the jungle., but if there is not much difference, maybe I need something 18".
Nick is such a tallented prog rock player!
And a talented presenter too!
@@soulslaveone Guy is a pro.
Sweetwater picked the perfect person to demo their drums. He makes me wanna buy every set he demos. I don't even wanna see anyone else demo drums. And who is that on the keys!!!!!
This is the most absurdly over the top product demo and I absolutely love it. Insanely good playing.
My god, that opening performance was absolutely killer! You guys really took it up like 3 notches here!
Is the Sweetwater jam band having shows?? I'd be front row!!
I was looking at these drums for a while and thank you Sweetwater for making this awesome video
Thanks for checking it out, Professor! 👍
Nick is the man who can play it all. His game is versatility.
Nick's playing and personality always put me in a good mood.
Wow what, wasn't expecting this kind of jam, amazing.
Dude the guy at the back is killing it! Loved every second of this demo
Congratulations on 500K subscribers guys. You’re the best in the business and you deserve the success.
I typically love big drums. My rack being 13" and my ft 16" with a 22" kick but I'm loving all the killer tones of these kits.
Wow. Nick! Love the way you effortlessly slid behind each kit and slammed! Musically! Well done. Thx.
AWESOME playing Nick !! You make ANY kit sound good !
Yes such a talented drummer with a very friendly manner. Always enjoy the Sweetwater demos!
I just ordered the AQX Jungle kit from Sweetwater, partially because of Nick's videos and partly because of all the time Ryan (Sweetwater advisor) spent on the phone with me. I compared the kits from Ludwig, Tama, PDP, and SONOR. Dollar for dollar, I think this is best of the four. Excellent sound, quality, and value. Can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks, Nick and Ryan.
are you still using it today or did you change over to one of the other brands?
I am looking into Gretch Catalina compared to Sonor, PDP Daru JOnes, Pearl Midtown, Tama club kit, Ludwig now....really not sure which one will have the longterm good feel above the others to wanna play it in ten years still and that have the quality that hold up as well...
any advice would be highly appreciated!
thanks
cool drums, but we all gotta appreciate how clean that roll at 0:10 was, great stuff👌 !
Excellent performance! Drums sound great too!
Dude.
Great sounding drums!
Played by without a doubt one of *the most versatile* guys playing drums today.
That jungle kit is magnificent
I just picked up the Jungle kit, LOVE it!!!
Great work, Nick! You know how to keep it interesting.
Awesome demo, and music !
Mr. Di Virgilio never disappoints, and that keyboard player is superb 💪
Amazing drum like the sound of the snare aspecially
Great video and product spotlight as always!
NICK!!! You are the 'MAN', man! :D
Totally digging the Sonor kits.
Damn! That Uptown Ride sounds superb! All those drums sound awesome. And those Sabians and Meinls sound perfect, there's no other word that fits.
Nick makes any drum sound awesome
A magnificent video, you guys are working hard, thanks for all the info
Nick! Man I’ve watched many product videos you’ve been in and am always impressed but you really showed how cool you are in this one. Ordered a jungle kit tonight. Y’all should lay that first track down. I’d listen for sure.
brilliant drummer, presenter and salesman! what a guy
Sonor quality shining through even at this entry level. Nick great as always!
Lovely playing Nick 👌🏻
Loved those swiss triplets played on the jazz kit
Nick you are badass, best reviews by far.
Always play well Nick👍fun stuff
Excellent drums and amazing drummer. Best wishes.
Nick "Sonar' De Virgilio ... Man great Job Nick !!! great concept of presenting these fine drums . Your playing was really awesome !
The Rosanna shuffle at 10:02.. Great sounding kits as well!!!
that jam was great.
This is the best drum review Ive ever seen. By far. This is how U do it!:)
I so agree! Beautifully executed and real.
Wow. Love the jam👍
Best presentation of these kits ... 1+*
Thank you man, good and great products
You guys are pretty amazing!
Amazing drummming! As usual!
I have an older version of the Jungle Kit.... Force 3007 and I really love it. It's currently my practice kit so I play it every day at home but I have gigged extensively with it playing various types of music. Thanks for the cool video...
Yep, I've got the earlier version of the AQX Jazz, the Bop SE. It's such a good kit it's hard to believe Sonor was able to improve on it!
@@ThruAWiderLens I have the Sonor Bop SE kit too in 'ruby red sparkle' finish. Great value for the money I see for the AQX Jazz kit they shortened the bass drum depth to 14" which is more manageable size both in footprint and sound. I found the bass drum in the Bop SE kit to be a bit 'boomy' in certain situations. I remedied that by cutting a small port in the reso head and putting a small towel up against the inside of the batter head now it's perfect.
@@thomasmoje5926 Agree completely on the size. I have a Sakae 18" x 14" BD and I love that size. Still, as you say, that Bop SE is very sweet for the price point!!!
What a sick way To open a 3-kit review
Nice chops...
Jojo Mayer called and want his drums back!
Great vid and love the supporting music 🤩
Nick sounds great on any brand of drums
Good drummer there. Great job.
That swing was legit! Good job Nick. You should make another album with Neal Morse.
Музыканты на высоте!😊👍
Wow that intro is a chop fest,
What a player! 😯
I’ve had this kit a few weeks now and it had taken be my surprise. I have the Jungle (the middle size) and It can sound like a regular kit. The kick is the what makes everything work for me, It is very weighty and driving, I didn’t think that was possible at 16”.
I can't even play drums but Nick makes me want to invest in an entire drum studio
Love that opening jam, man…very Feel Euphoria era Spocks Beard 🤙
wow.. nice product demo... thats good content
He is a great drummer!
Nick's Drum reviews are quickly becoming some of my favorite.
I literally just came here from another review of same drums and it was Heavily..."not quite as real" you might say.
Love getting review on all 3-otions here in 1-vid too! Only owned 1-Sonor kit, in which I bought an entry level used to do a Really Cool re-Wrap on and I saved that set,
But very much would like to try an affordable players kit like this someday so Thanks Nick & Sweetwater!...
😎👍
"Jo jo mayer eat your heart out." 😂 Job well done, Nick! Too hip to quit
That red mico is dope iam happy i went to my local music store to order that mini beast
Nick has been practicing a lot!
Very talented man
I am glad they brought back the SE line(under a different name). I have all three of the SE line in poplar, Martini, Safari and Bop. They're a great value and sound great!
Lol what's the point of having all three in similar price points ?
@@kondko What was the point of taking them off production to replace them with maple only versions at higher price points? I think Sonor may have realized their mistake of removing the SE line.
Is there much difference between the micro and the jungle? I got the micro, but want a little bigger bass drum sound, and I was going to exchange.
@@lisao6928 I owned both previous versions of this kit, the Martini(Micro) and the Safari(Jungle). Both were the same shell composition, poplar. The Jungle is going to have a bit beefed sound but with the right mics, the Micro can surprise a lot of people.
These are good drums for the money……
I love the Sonor AQX bop 18/12/14 kit maybe with remo ambassador coated soon...
Nice 🤘
Sonor fan in da House!
Those micro kits are nice for students, A second for drummer hauling drums for practice to another band members house or small area gigs. Usually you can mount the snare on the hi hat stand and go with ride mounted on bass drum, cuts weight.
excellent
Hommie rockin the LSU shirt
first jam was coool
splendid
Nick amazing
You always amaze with what you come up with to demonstrate all of what a drum kit is capable of and make it shine. You make one want to play drums. Every time I watch you play in a demo video I end up hearing a groove that ends too soon and I end up behind my own drumkit and being the beautiful sound of Sonor drums a brand that I own play myself made it even better. You make me want to be a better drummer.
Beautiful compact drums my preferite the jazz kit o the jungle kit the micro kit very very smoll
Hey, nice demo! Will you eventually review the Sonor Aqx Studio Set as well?
I have the sonor bop which is exactly similar to the jazz. Love it! What the difference in this model vs my sonor Bop kit? Also how do you have the bass drum beater kick set up? Thanks awesome video!
Geaux Tigers! LSU tee on the keys man. Is there any drum that doesn't love this drummer? I think not.
How is no one talking about the economy of the over head setup? 3 kits 4 mics.
I noticed that too, nice.
Sounds good too.
@@crolodon8024 It does.
I know it's a drum video but give the keyboardist cred for the bad ass keyboard playing
There are guys with 15 piece drum sets on double racks that can't play anywhere near as good as this guy can on a small jazz kit lol. Size doesn't always matter here. Talent can make anything sound amazing.
You would play on a trash can that I will buy it after, really well done, great playin !
Coated top clear bottom. Evens G1. I tried 2 ply. 10” dead. Had tension way up. I tried a attack thin skin. 12.5 ml.
I have a Sonor kit that predates these (can't recall the name) it BD 16"X16" FT "12"14" TT 7"x10"... It's a Force 3007 ... I've gigged with it and use it with mesh heads for practice at home. It's an awesome kit.
Tight tight tight!!!
If you can choose between owning all of those Sonor kits (or any kit whatsoever), or having Nick´s chops... i choose the chops and keep playing on my old faded Pearl Forum
Now, we just need @Evans Drumheads to make a 14" bass drum hoop emad.....
Were the Toms and kick in high, low or medium tune when you demonstrated the micro? Would be nice to be able to purchase the micro but with an 10” rack Tom instead of 8”.
Had to double check what video I was watching because I couldn't tell if this was a drum kit showcase or a clip from the Modern Drummer Festival!
I want the blue one with the red 8 inch tom added to it. thank you
Came for the drums, stayed for the 4 minutes of Nicky D shedding
Love Sonor drums! Nick, chill with the fish/ kissy face when you're playing huh?
Is this your way of telling us you think Nick has nice lips?
@@Goldenbaba430 Not really. but if thats the way you want to interpret it, whatever floats your boat!
Nick is such a good drummer,. Men …
Did you guys record any of the awesome synth rock? I would buy that.
Excellent Jazz set. If and when I can afford and get a house instead of a condo I would add another crash
Excellent drum sets and killer demonstration aside, I love that China sound! Anyone know what make it is?
I hate when I wake up in the morning and have my head blown off by Nick right out of the gate! LOL
