Shah was not a dictator. Those who you (I mean west) and we(people of Iran)replaced him are true dictators. Now we know better, because now we are both better educated and experienced. Woman life freedom was a leftie project to reduce Iran's problems to Hijab. Our country is geologically dying and they remind us of a right that our Shah already gave women of Iran. We will remember DW for unjust remarks of our Shah. With a bunch of Iraqi Kurdish writers no better results are expected.
Thank you for expressing your personal point of view here. Nevertheless, we mention in our video that women were given more rights including the right to vote during the last Shah's regime. DW supports freedom of speech, therefore, you are invited to criticize us, but in doing so it is important to stick to the facts. Furthermore, we kindly request to maintain a respectful attitude towards our authors. Thank you!
You are welcome. But that was not my opinion, rather a counter-argument towards your untrue remarks about our Monarch, whose innocence is now common knowledge and fact. We are only checking for those who still insist on reversing the reality. However, If the reason you responded to my comment, was me mentioned the identities of your authors. in that regard I should say I respect Kurdish people personally no matter how their political agendas are aligned, However, it is also a common fact that their agendas are contradictory to mine thus their content would be accordingly. I thank you for most of the content you added here. And should remind you it is only academic that if you claim, you reason. You say the Shah was a "cruel dictator", prove it first and move to the next sentence.

What’s disgusting is that a few people in charge can tell everyone else what to do and everyone just goes along with it when the people in charge are outnumbered
Yet, there are many Muslim women outside Iran insisting wearing Hijab and Abaya in non-Muslim countries. They say it's their total freedom to do so, and they assert they don't have freedom like their home countries. Bizzaire and inscrutable. They protest to have recognition by the wearing, while they have other ways to do so, such as education, training, and enlightenment to be a fully fledged hunan being. It applies to all men, too. What they want is freedom of expression, religion, and mobility. However, the extreme lack of discernment is never discussed in the West and the rest of the World. For the non-Muslims, the whole issue is oppressive and degrading. All we hope is they will not bring the domestic issues to the new haven. Civility.
Thanks for watching. We appreciate different perspectives that lead to meaningful discussions and you are free to express your point of view. The respective circumstances you describe in France and Iran may not necessarily be suitable for comparison. However, what women in both countries desire is self-determination. They want to decide for themselves whether they want to wear the hijab or abaya or not. This is a sensible topic that should not be taken lightly. While irony can sometimes be a part of a lively exchange, we kindly request to maintain a certain level of respect. Thank you!
I would say there is probably a percentage of woman who wear the Hijab of their own free will, but how many wear them because of their husbands will in the western countries?
The Pahlavi dynasty saved our country and paved the way for a bright future. The woman life freedom will succeed and as Iranians, we will be able to live in a free country. We have a few thousand years of civilization to support us. DW should know better that reflecting the views of only a few people with a specific political background is not enough to cover the whole truth. DW ‘s attempt to mix the current events in Iran, with misinformation about the Shah cannot be overlooked.
Thanks for watching. We appreciate different perspectives that lead to lively discussions. You are free to express your point of view here and criticize us. While the Shah implemented some valuable initiatives, he also made mistakes. It is our journalistic duty to also address those.

I am white British and technically "Christian"??? In this country I have zero worries regarding Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Sikhs, Pagans, Christians, Daoists, Confucians etc etc etc. In fact seeing very imposing peaceful Sikhs in our society with their magnificent turbans and beards is, to me, something very positive. However like many of my countrymen (and other Europeans), I do have serious concerns about Muslims in our midst. You never hear of Hinduophobia, Sikhophobia, Buddhistophobia. Why do we have the term Islamophobia ???? There must be a reason for this. Can anyone out there enlighten me on this ??? I would appreciate a sensible explanation. 😊👍
You don't have to worry about Islamophobia, just always keep in mind, no matter what religions are, there's always criminals, it is just all about our mindset, think with an open-mind, using the sixth sense is important. If you think back, there are lots of western families took their wife/husband's life just for insurance if you watch a real-life movie and that's more creepy, imagine you choose to live your life for the rest your life with a person who you really love and to whom you're sharing your bed with but you don't have any idea that person would be the one would take your last breath. Not just that, while some committed fraud and etc. There's really no difference, so that's why the word, "manipulation" does exist itself, it is your brain and mind if you allow people to manipulate you. But at least you allow yourself to ask questions for a clarification, you have a far insight so far, that's a good point.😊
Today another young girl of Iran , just 16 years old, with the same destiny of Mahsa ,Jina Amini is laying in the hospital bed and fighting for her life. Her Name is Armita Garavand and she also was beaten by morality police in Iran and at this same moment is fighting for her life. The world as usual is just witnessing the crime against women and humanity and just watching to make sure that they won’t loose their oil and money from Iran.
One thing you didn't talk about was the presidential election of 2021. there was a large disqualification of many candidates and when people couldn't sympathize with the approved ones, they felt this little participation in the fate of the country has been taken away from them.
Thank you for addressing this point. The topic is very complex, and there are many other points that we couldn't address in this short video. Therefore, we are very grateful for further discussion in the comments. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for commenting. This is about self-determination. As long as the individuals were free in their decision, we should not pass judgment on their choice.

Islam and its cultural baggage are foreign to Iranians. They were both introduced by Arab conquerors. At the time of the Arab conquest, Persia (Iran) was one of the most advanced countries in the world in culture and technology. The national religion was officially Zoroastrianism but almost half the population was Christian and there was a large Jewish minority. Zoroastrianism was the religion that influenced Judaism to be become a more humane religion, which ultimately gave birth to Christianity. Islam is a step back in time to barbarism

Iranian socity is not a deeply petriotical society as you mentioned in this video. This is actually the opinion and the view of of Iran by the westerners! I am a 67 years old Iranian woman and I was brought up in Tehran. Iranian women have always had power in the society, and unfortunately there are a lot of women who are both fundamentalist and do work for the Islamic regime, and have even high positions in the government! I know this is a contradiction, but it is sadly true!
In response to your question, I say that the revolution of Woman, Life, Freedom is bound to succeed. I have no dought about it.
This American knows Iran is not patriarchal. Her roots are deep in human rights and both women and men have always stood equal side by side. Iran is Cyrus the Great, not oppressive narcissistic cult of Islam.

It’s been a fact throughout history women from wealthy families have power
@riverdalehigh8r5tthey make isolated places on the beaches for women. Somehow that men couldn't see women naked.
You're totally wrong. This movement in Persia is NOT a feminist movement, but the Persian Renaissance against Islam and Islamic values.
Thank you for your critical feedback. No report will be able to focus on everything. The focus in our video was on women and the women's movement. Persians were christians. There was an official church of persia. Google it on wikipedia and you ll find out a part of your history the muslims dont tell you. You became muslims by invasion by the arabs coming from the arabian peninsula. You were so christians that persians evangelized parts of china. Google the Chinese Christian stele. These women are surely the bravehearts' of Iran ...❤
Iranian women will make Iran and middle east a modern, open society. Women, life, Freedom.
Growing up in a democratic society, I cannot even try to think what it must be like. I salute all you brave women
Thank you!
DW what you claim to be “Facts” is simply LIES.
DW is a dictator by itself
I meet an Iranian taxi driver in Ireland 20 years ago and asked him were in Iran are you from. He told me he wasn't Iranian he was a Persian.

I just can't understand middle Eastern religions, why do they feel the need to keep women as second class citizens...
Thanks for watching. We appreciate different perspectives that lead to lively discussions. You are free to express your point of view here. However, we kindly request to maintain a respectful attitude in the comment section. Thank you!
As a woman, it’s horrible to think that a government can tell women how to dress. It’s disgusting.
Thanks for watching. We appreciate you sharing your perspective with us and the community.
This is true feminism. Not those ones that complain about a man opening the door for them but get upset when he doesn’t 😒
Thanks for commenting. However, it is certainly not meaningful to distinguish between 'true' and 'fake' feminism, as it is not really constructive.
@@DWHistoryandCulture yeah one is feminism and the other is a waste of time
The Pahlavi dynasty saved our country and paved the way for a bright future.
Please make sure you don't swap your thousands of years of undoubtedly rich history for stupid liberal western trash.

Not a sensible answer to my question

Keep fighting ladies.
Today another young girl of Iran , just 16 years old, with the same destiny of Mahsa ,Jina Amini is laying in the hospital bed and fighting for her life. Her Name is Armita Garavand and she also was beaten by morality police in Iran and at this same moment is fighting for her life. One thing you didn't talk about was the presidential election of 2021. there was a large disqualification of many candidates and when people couldn't sympathize with the approved ones, they felt this little participation in the fate of the country has been taken away from them.

Islam is a step back in time to barbarism
i maybe Christian by I always have a respect toward Zoroastrianism

Sed fuertes, la LIBERTAD llegará a Irán, y las mujeres podrán vestir libremente, dejar su pelo libre e Irán se convertirá en una luz de esperanza y de libertad para el mundo. How long did they think Iranian women would put up with the crap?
People are also not attending Mosques as much as before. This is troubling to the regime. Nothing is more a symbol of female subjugation than to make a girl to cover her head. We should all support girls removing the hijab.
This can be a very personal decision that each woman should make for herself. Let's support women in making their own decisions.
The rights of every women should not violated and must stop the oppression of Iranian women. Solid protest must done against their will of freedom of women.

" if a woman dies in an accident the family receives half the compensation" >> 08:47
wrong because >> in vehicle accidents the compensation is the same for both men and women
BUT
out of vehicle accidents the compensation for women is half the one for men - in crimes like homicide for example-
UPDATE >> the supreme court has issued that based on article 501 of the penal code : " when the victim is not a man - women and transgenders- the compensation is paid this way >> half is paid by the criminal/ criminal's family and the rest is paid by a governmental organization to the victim/victim's family >> in result the women get the same amount just like men
" a woman's voice only counts for half in court" 08:44
only in criminal courts but not the civil courts/cases
