I will never again buy a Ford Fusion. Used to love this car, but after the issue with my heater, which is very common on the Fusion, and Ford's unwillingness to do a recall for it, my mind is made up. Mine is a 2012 Fusion. I was looking at trading it in and getting a 2018 or 2019 model year in the spring, but after this incident.. HELL NO!! I'm going back to GM or Chrysler. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Ford. Love their trucks, owned a couple Mustangs as well. But when there is an issue such as this, and the company knows about it but won't do anything about it except send you to the Ford garage and stick you with a massive bill to do the same thing that cost me about $42 to fix, screw that. They have now lost me as a customer. It's not that it was a big deal for me to change, but for others who might not be so mechanically inclined or savvy, this could mean an expensive repair for them. It makes me ask and wonder.. what other common issue goes on with Ford vehicles that they know about but tell the consumer, screw you? Personally, I don't care to find out. I am done with Ford. - Розваги
Could you reference how you found the parts. What did you search for ?
www.amazon.com/dp/B07CHCVN7J & www.amazon.com/dp/B00OAKY76Y on Amazon. If you check eBay though, you'll probably find them at an even lower cost. If I remember correctly, eBay is where I got the wiring harness.
Thanks man! I’m not very mechanical savvy and I happened to go down under the dash and just unplug and plug it back in and it’s working now. I’m happy I now know what I need to replaced. Thank you again!
THANK YOU! I knew it could be one of six things! That's a lot easier fix than the blower motor resistor! Thanks and happy New Year!!!
Hey Joe, what are the other 5 possible things that could've been bad? Thanks
@elvisonstage ....I to have been dealing with the same issue your Fusion had. Blows great heat for a few minutes then it blows cold air and it repeats the cycle. I have not been able to figure why it's doing that. So was it the heater core or thermostat? Thank you!
Thank you for this video. Mine just went out this morning 😑.
Same and it -10 like wtf
This video was dragged out and after suffering through it found out it is NOT that INFORMATIVE
Thanks! I'll check the connector before I order a bunch of parts 😝
My heater is out in my 2014 Ford Fusion. Cold in Nebraska too!
i HAVE REPLACED MINE TWICE THIS YEAR. I DID ALL THE STUFF YOU DONE LOL
The blower motor is burning it all up I replaced it and it has been fine
What is the name of the part? Lol he never said it in the video
WHAT THE HELL IS IT AND WHERE DO I FIND IT
could you help me out on what part this is isnt it an acutator part? what were ur systems air blowing but no hot air? im told my mechnaic sees an electical part and cant tell if its that or the heatercore im just gonna replace both
Where is the part location in the vehicle? How do you access the part? What is the name / part number of the part. (Who,what, where, why?)
If fan aint turning make sure its not bad first or wire to it
Mine is changing from heat to cold AC by itself.
It turns off and on also .
Has anyone tried putting a fuse on the blower motor wires if thats whats causing the issue of the Blower motor resistor and wires to have to much power going to them?
Can you tell me where is the location of those 2 items
Okay so I didn't recall you specifying or telling everyone what that specific part is you mentioned the pigtail but I don't recall you mentioning the actual part that mounts under the dash that would be very helpful
Try reading the description in the video
Is this the same component used on a 2011 Ford Fusion? What year vehicle were you working on?
Mine is a 2012, and yes I believe they are the same. I do know there is some model year differences but I don't recall which year it switches. But regardless, ALL model year Fusions have this issue. Edit: just checked, it's the 2006 through 2012 that are all the same.
That looks like a blower motor resistor. Controls speed levels and can handle lots of amperage when working properly. When blower motor get old they draw more amperage causing high resistance possibly over working the resistor. If the new pigtail don't solve it maybe look at the blower motor, cabin filter causing motor to work harder, leaving motor on one setting vs other speeds. This is for ac and heater.Fusion has a whole separate issue with blend doors but no blend door actuator will fix it.More with something in the body control module that is used for more functions other than the ac/heater.Turn on the headlights and ac/heater start getting crazy.Ford won't fix it.Re flash, charge a lot and no fix.
What are the part names
If this part goes bad, does the blower motor still work? My blower works great, just can't get any heat.
My 2015 Fusion Titanium heats well, at first. After maybe 10 minutes, it goes to cool air, like the vent. It IS winter here too! Does this sound like the heater blower motor resistor will fix this issue? Thank you!
No, sounds like a heater core or maybe thermostat.
Same thing I’m dealing with right now bro. In the winter time too smh I hate fords.
What sucks, is as of today, the Fusion is usually kept parked by the garage. Have had brake problems 5 times now, 3 times with the heater and pigtail, cam position sensor went out, got that fixed, now brakes are acting up again. So we use it as a 3rd car in case of emergency's, haven't junked it yet. Glad we didn't junk it, because now my Silverado is having issue with low oil pressure, so my wife is driving the Hyundai, and I had to temporarily dust off the Fusion for now till my truck gets looked at. God I hate this car, but well, it's still doing me some good at least. And as long as the damn heater works, I'm cool.
It’s not safety issue. It went out with my 2 year old in the back and a pregnant wife going to doctor. -27 degrees Toronto. Freezing. I had to go buy a battery powered heater.
I know what you mean. Freezing 🥶. Hope you got that fixed.
What is the name of that place
was your blower motor still blowing just cold air? or not any air
not any
Were is that port located at on 2007 Ford Fusion se v6
Under the passenger side on the firewall. Will have 5 wires coming out from it, very awkward contortions needed to see what the fuck you are doing, so pull that damn seat back as far as it goes.. Is held in by 2 hexagonal screws.
So you have a 2012 ford fusion but bought both of those parts right? I’m trying to make sure so I won’t waste my money. My heat blows cold.
That would be a different problem, like possibly a bad heater core. The problem I had was the blower would not move at all.
Ok you went thru your story but didn't give an exact name of the two parts or where they're located in the engine compartment or how to remove them.
Sorry, I'm not much of a car guy. It's a heater resistor, follow the cables coming from the blower, it's mounted on the firewall under the dash, 2 screws. www.amazon.com/dp/B07CHCVN7J & www.amazon.com/dp/B00OAKY76Y I have noted your concern and have linked to the parts in the description, thanks for watching, hope if you're having this problem, it gets resolved. Also, here is a link to another UA-camr who shows where to find it, check him out and give the guy a thumbs up. ua-cam.com/video/Aa2FiOsFw3Q/v-deo.html
I agree, just talked the whole time with no details ! Waste of time
Dude, name the part. It looks like the blower resistor pack.
Yes, it's a resistor, can't remember the specific part name though.
Where is located
Where is this located in the car?
Right next to the blower. If you follow the 2 wires that are plugged into the blower, it will lead you right to it.
I have the same question, did you find it?
It’s a safety risk if you live in Manitoba on the Prairies in the winter at -35 to -45 C
Resistors to slow down a motor is so 1930s!
What is the part????? What is it called
I'm not sure of the exact part number, but I do know it is called a AC Heater Blower Motor Resistor.
I agree mine sparked
Did you lose all power to the heater AC rear defrost
Rear defrost, no, that's a different wire set.
@@phreakwars thanks trying to find a bad fuse and they're really hard to get at
Whats the name of the part??
Fan Blower Motor Resistor
How about mentioning with the name of the part is and where it's located next time would be helpful versus a long drawn-out story
How about reading the description.
Mines dying more and more often
Gosh. My heart sank. Mines is out too.
The main problem is the blower motor itself is generating to much power and burning everything up
The prong that is burnt carries high current and ford knows this it will keep burning out only the right side burns out shame on you ford...
that looks like the blower motor control module not just the heater.
Correct.
That blower motor resistor doesn't look like it's from FoMoCo! Lmfao
I guess never mind that the ORIGINAL one that blew out WAS a FoMoCo and judging by all the searches for it, I'm not the only one with the problem, Lmfao.
That’s what mine looks like but worst. Fuckin annoying
Chevy trucks do same thing.
I've heard that too.
@@phreakwars I got one of each thats how I know lol.
Didn't bother reading comments so this may be redundant. As far as a safety issue it is not. That type of plastic will not catch on fire. All pigtail connectors are the same. This has already been thought about. Just happened to me with the resistor/pigtail cooked. 2010 fusion sel, 3.0. Really, stupid issue. Ford engineers are lost in space. Brake valve body below master cylinder also. Valves get stuck and brakes go all the way to the floor. Car will stop but it blows your mind if the issue happens. Never buy another ford. Typical of many autos the small things they seem to take yrs to correct. But the small things are huge dollars. The brake cylinder is 1200. Junk yard 600. Resistor/pigtail at Autozone 218. Put new blower in while I was at it. Another 89. Joke at best.
I normally like Ford, but all I know, is I'll never buy another Fusion.
What you think chevy/chrysler dont have issues? You'd think the auto manufactorers wouldve already figured out how to get oil to the journels and lifters. All those early 2000 to 2005 hemis and they have oiling issues. Chevy isnt any better.
@@BillyLintzenich-wf7sk Couldn't agree more. Only cars I buy now and in the future is Toyota/Lexus. Number one vehicle manufacturer in the world and fix issues quickly.
