We haven’t been on Mount Antero in over 20 years. I hope while you were in Saint Elmo you did take time to feed the chipmunks. Bonanza that’s another place that feels like home. The last time we were in Bonanza and went over the old toll road my wife said never again. Something about the wheels on the suburban hanging over the edge and our grandchildren we’re inside. Next time you’re in Pueblo go to a restaurant called the Mill Stop you won’t regret it. Lord I miss all those places now that I live in Cheyenne. Thank you sir I love seeing home
I love camping on grizzly. The gate keeper keeps the traffic to a minimum. I see more hikers than I do vehicles usually. My favorite spot to camp is that little spot right there in the trees just before that creek crossing love it. Really enjoying the series, I’ve been on every trail in you’re series so far. The mountains are calling, I must go…
A view to do if I lived near you! Natures true beauty! I like Matts idea of reclaiming that well preserved log wood. Old is genuine ! We have the Cabot Trail here in Cape Breton where the land and ocean meet. Natures sky scrapers. From your international audience thanks for sharing your beautiful Scenery with us.
Real pretty country, amazed at the conditions of the mine structures. Nice that the majority of the off-road community keeps it that way. Thanks for sharing.
Matt, a helpful hint... when you got a soda (or beer) riding between your legs, best to point the opening forward so not to soak and rust the tools in case of a spill. So Confuscious say. 😆
With no bypass of that first obstacle it will keep those best not going there away. Pity about the mechanical issues as it makes you extra cautious or not keep going onwards in case you end up totally broke down. Views up top are one of my favourite things whether it's a peak, ridge wide flat expanse. Seeing a big panorama always makes me go wow. When it's good weather & at sunrise or sunset that's the most magic time of all for me. Thanks for your clips showing us places some like me off in Australia may never see in person.
Thanks guys that scenery is just brilliant and I love those old buildings and the history contained within the walls , thanks again cheers for now mate
Seems like the gnarlier the trail the better the reward. It's so nice knowing your in an area where you feel like you have a whole mountain range to yourselves. Hope the head gasket isn't toast. Especially up there. Throw a combustion leak test on there when your in town.
Thanks Bleepin Jeep, I drove Grizzly lake back in 1984, it was great back then. The gate keeper in your video was not like that then. I did it in a stock 1980 Toyota 4X4 pick up. I loved driving that road. Go to upper lake Pomeroy and you can hike over to the ridge and look down on. Grizzly lake. Thanks for the series. Also where you were talking about the rock sticking out on the trail, there was a vehicle frame at the bottom of that cliff when I did the road..
Hoping to meet yall in the Smokies here soon! Actually don't like Gatlinburg vacation was there every year growing up! Always crowded bad but gonna give it a whirl to meet yall and Matt's off road looking forward to it.
Youall are in my stomp zone. Colt is awesome his knowledge of the trails is impressive. Bummer about the rig problems. Love this video series of my home trails !!
been watching you guys for a year or more , were from the Canon City area and was in the Saint Elmo area yesterday.. as far as your jeep the jeep dealer in Canon has the best shop and mechanics that I know of , they have worked on all of things for years... hope this helps
I was out atving in the Antero and Grizzly areas several times. I would park next to the Trading Post at Taylor Lake and make a day trip to St Elmo region and back. Probably a favorite of mine!
St Elmo is the beginning and end of another alpine loop out there that doesn’t get as much attention, Hancock Pass, Alpine Tunnel Road, Cumberland Pass to Tincup and Tincup Pass back to St Elmo. If you want more challenge than Cumberland, you do Napoleon Pass into Tincup. Nothing too dangerous, just a great day of scenery and wheeling.
Bonanza is a great place to explore. You missed out on a really nice lake to the NW of town. The Mears toll rd is a good historic drive from Bonanza to Salida as well.
The 1 time I went to Colorado, I felt that quite a few roads there were Sketchy as you say,up to and including their paved roads up in the mountains, super Narrow, No Guard Rails, and very steep and deep cliffs, along with having to pull off to the edge close to the cliff to let cars coming down the Mountain pass pass you, they actually had pull outs next to a very steep drop to park so cars could get down and pass you!, Craziest Think I've ever experienced while on a mountain road!
makes me homesick. I lived in the Rockies for 11 years at 7400 ft and skied it for 20. add in countless road trips and just like my 31 years as a bush pilot in Alaska, scenic overkill.
Man, that's sucks about Matt's Jeep! It's a 3.6 Pentastar, correct? If so, some of them are great, and some of them are just issue prone. Hopefully it's still under warranty! Again, and as always thank you sharing all of this with us viewers! ❤️
Been a while since I was on it, but Saxon Mountain Road was a good one too, if I remember right. Not as challenging, but some tight squeezes on shelf road, with a rock slide to go over.
Being from Denver, CO currently working in MN. You're not lying about the Green Chile! Though there are a couple of mom and pop places in Denver with killer Green Chile! Headed home this weekend 8/13 just to get some! Might do some wheeling while there.
some roads you have been on.. woww.. brave brave an even more brave.. even your young wimmen.. until l juss now.. the one said.. is it okay if she stays down here.. i would have stayed at home after i would have looked at their /your maps.. no no no not me i would be singing.. well done all of you.. love from me.. helena.. x
I love you guys, but it sure would be nice if some of the secret spots stayed secret. I live in Colorado and there aren't many secret spots left thanks to the interweb. Oh yea, the "possum" you talked about was a Marmot.
That was great off road. Nice tips and bits of history. The gals should (talk) participate more. It would be nice to hear the -female- side of the trip. (( they should also drive ))
The Salida /Leadville area has a great mining history. Cripple Creek is also a great mining area with some decent trails. I know you're probably not in Colorado anymore, but would have loved to see you go up Kelly flats.
Colt, was you ever able to go and see the Bob Ingorsell mine in Keystone,S.D. before it burnt to the ground ? It was amazing and you could see for ever it seemed when you got to the top.
We did grizzly after running up tin up, Hancock and camberland passes this past Saturday. Was able to get up the gatekeeper in my gx470 after 3 attempts but needed to pull winch at the dug out portion at the end of the shelf road climb. I think it’s a one and done trail for us. Wife didn’t like that particular shelf road.
I would have to say, Grizzly is my favorite trail in the state. I used to go up there a couple of time a month in my full size Cherokee, when I could find others to go. If not, I went by myself. I even had to dead stick it down the shelf road (no power) once.Always an adventure on that tail and Iron Chest.
Love that area! That's one of my main stomping grounds (literally) in Colorado. I love it more every year--last year I did 4 days of ~20 mile hikes out and around Salida and Buena Vista, and of course, got some great green chili at the Patio Pancake Place right there on Hwy 50. Also drove up to St Elmo, and started up one of the trails in my Murano! Very quickly decided to nope right out of that, and was able to back out of the way for a group coming down while turning around. btw that stuff up over Leadville, I think you might have found the area where I hiked (with a group) when I was a kid (maybe I'll have to head back next year, = ~40 years later) Pretty outstanding places!
This is so cool. I am seeing my back yard (sorta) on a youtube channel. Very cool dudes and dudetts. It would have been fun to join ya on this adventure. There is a ton more to see.
Go up Argentine Pass, elevation 13,207 ft, is a high mountain pass that crosses the Continental Divide in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado. There is no back side just a hugh drop.
On my summer trips to Colorado travelling from Alamosa to the Collegiate Peaks area, I've often wondered what was up that road out of Villa Grove. Now I know. Thanks for doing this trail so I don't have to 😉
One of the first books I read in school was named something like "Gold Mine In the Hills"...wasn't really about a mine with gold. Map they found said, It was cold in the mine.
We've been really happy with them across the board. They have done great in all terrains we've put them in to comparable tires and the price point is solid👍
@@bleepinjeep That’s great to hear. I really appreciate the reply and feedback. I look forward to following the rest of your Colorado adventures. Jeep on and ride safe!
19:29 big laugh! You know Matt and Colt are good guys because of their women. When Hope records, she even supplies the laugh track! Colt, pulls a smooth one with, "...but she's mine."

I love Grizzly Lake. It's a fair poke from Denver for a day trail out and back.
Thanks for showing us the beautiful scenery in your "backyard".
Real pretty country, amazed at the conditions of the mine structures. Nice that the majority of the off-road community keeps it that way. Thanks for sharing.
Great trails, excellent country, thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one, all the best to yous and your loved ones
How did these two guys end up with such cool wives?! Y'all won the lottery. Great series. Love seeing the family fun.
Loving this series fellas, well done!!
Great adventure and wonderful views and country, So glad that the 4 of you are traveling together
Kinda mind blowing you bring a unprepared jeep to go on mtn trip out of all the builds you bring a sketchy build
This looks amazing. Love the scenery. Thanks for taking us along !
That is, without question, the most beautiful country I’ve ever seen! Loving this series!
Matt, a helpful hint... when you got a soda (or beer) riding between your legs, best to point the opening forward so not to soak and rust the tools in case of a spill. So Confuscious say. 😆
Good tip!
You need to do a week long fan trail ride and camping trip up there, I'd pay for the experience!

Lovin’ the Colorado series! 👍👍
Beautiful scenery, glad they go in pairs for safety on these rides. I’m gripping the armchair watching all these maneuvers and perilous driving 😬😱

Wow, the colors is fascinating, awesome trail. Thanks for that
Absolutely beautiful! Makes me so home sick thanks for sharing your trip🧡💙
Loving this series guys. Hope you get the mechanical issues resolved before GSMJI.
What about the DPB ?? That's the deadliest there in in Colorado.
Your wife is always smiling or laughing wish my first wife was like yours.
I’m telling your wife
Lmao
Don’t we all
Thanks for keeping our trails clean, Colt!

Just subscribed and loving the content!!. Hello from NZ 🇳🇿
Backpacked up to Grizzly Lake way back in the late 70’s. Wild beautiful area. Watched a Mountain Lion watching us. It was a restless night 😅

great video adventures. Thank you for telling the truth about New Mexico, The Green Chile Capital of the World
You guys should try to get up into some of the trails in Wyoming.
I'd like to hear more about the Green Chili! Can you please make a map showing the Green Chili zone?
Great series - thanks Bleepers!!
Love it when you do these type videos

Matt's ..... thats funny. (watch his videos a lot) Have hit some of the Alpine... good for you! Just NICE!!!!
Most enjoyable, good job guys. Thanks for sharing 👍.
looks very scary would never in my life going on car on this roads,,you are very brave and good drivers:-)

Ol’ Grizz hasn’t been a “secret” since the 70s. I went one year and had the whole lake to myself. The next year it looked like a used jeep parking lot
1000% correct about southern CO and northern NM green chili. There is simply nothing better.
That's a pretty trail with nice scenery
I love mt antero. Been to the top 3 times now in an airport rental.
The views are awesome for sure.
That was great off road. Nice tips and bits of history.
The gals should (talk) participate more. It would be nice to hear the -female- side of the trip.
(( they should also drive ))
Glad you enjoyed it
12:55 not judging but airing down those tires a little would greatly help your traction. I love Colorado been there many times.
Grizzly lake 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

@@bleepinjeep Headed back out this summer from Alabama and may have to plan that sidetrip. Great video series!!
Thanks for keeping the music to a minium, I would be happy if there was none.
The use music during drone shots.
Awesome video. Is that Fan tie die shirt on your website store. Thanks
No, you gotta buy the fan shirt and diy the tie dye
Really wish I could have joined you all while you were here in Colorado 🤙

Just curious, but does the USGS elevation marker at about 6:48 minutes actually say how many feet it is above sea level?
Ya gotta admit Matt… Wheel’n those Trails in the Wife’s Jeep is gotta be way more Scary then anything you’ve done in the Scorpion Crawler 🤔🤪
There's nothing better than a good green chili cheeseburger! I'd love a Lottaburgers right now
Great video series 👍 your coolant loss might be oil filter/cooler which is very common.
Whose the drone pilot?......Smooth work boys, Smooth
Goslings ginger beer is my favorite.
