Thanks for watching! Yes it was absolutely gorgeous, and from what we can tell most if the apartments/bed and breakfasts were all similar in that they were set in the caves - such a unique experience!
Beautiful place, love the hotel /Inn, looks roomy and unique. The city was beautiful during the day but at night it's simply stunning .the views at the canyon was breath-taking .
Ma husband is working there he told me that this is the best experience in his work so beautiful i hope i will visit Matera soon enjoy and have a good time❤

it really felt like another world! Hopefully they open the caves soon, a lot of it are covid restrictions in tight places, but there is still so much to see and do! Just beautiful!
@@TheTravelingSwiss thank you! We are heading there in a month and we were going to drive over to the park and back but I love the idea of doing what you did by taking the bus there and hiking back over!
very interesting! you tube gets a lot of flack, but it is amazing how much geography you learn without putting down the iPad. a question, how did you get there? gmaps said at best it was a twelve hour drive! fr24 lists one non stop from Zurich to Bari. Rail.,,,,

Great video! About how long would you say it took you to hike through the caves and canyon to get back to Matera from the Il Belvedere drop off point?
not so long - maybe an hour to an hour and a half depending on how much time you spend looking at the caves!

There are direct flights on Swiss from Zurich to Bari a few times a week! We took a bus from Bari to Matera :)
This looks sick at night can't believe it - did not know it existed and I'm in Italy very often
Most people don't! It's not as popular as many other Italian destinations, but so magical nonetheless
love the video will be there in a few weeks so helped a lot, but please change the music, even the elderly Italians listen to more modern music!
