Nice job with the explanation, a question I had which you did not explore is,: the boot/sock size of the wader fits to the persons shoe size, however how much bigger on an average does the external outer shoe size need to be. I.E. inner boot size 8, what size outer size shoe is needed to fit the inner boot and your foot, size 9.5? Thank you
I hate lazy manufacturing...those companies that don't offer stout sizes. I had a pair arrive from Amazon today that were a lot like the first pair you held up...and they were pretty snug. The boot fit fine, but there was no extra fabric in the legs, butt, or crotch area for me to use them in a sitting position such as getting in and out of a kayak. We're not all skinny Asians (perhaps where many of these waders are made) !!! One size does NOT fit all. I'm 6'1" and around 225...and would like a pair that I don't have to stay in the standing position all day. So...sending my pair back to Amazon tomorrow. Will be looking for stout sizes in the future...not that I'm all that stout.
We always suggest coming in to try a couple pairs because some brands vary a little. Also, know your inseam and largest girth size that helps narrow down options as well.

When I go to the sizing it just says 11/12 4/3 etc

What brand are you looking at? Its right in the middle of the sizing chart. We would suggest trying them on before purchase.
