I paid 525.00 for my Simms waders and they leaked 1st time out. Simms did not replace them and I had to send in a brand new pair of waders to get repaired is definitely not good customer service. Got them back almost 3 months later and took them out and they still leaked. Simms is definitely going to shit. I would definitely not recommend Simms. Definitely Patagonia is the go to now. Simms screwed me big time!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
That’s so bad to hear. Out of our team at IFF we’ve had plenty of Simms waders at some point and not had that poor of an experience. We have a couple Simms hands on reviews coming too but found them to be great even after a year+ of use.
Heads up....I had No. 5 the Simms freestone....leaked after 2nd season of very mild fishing. Sent to Simms, 5 weeks later they let me know they received them, a week after that they said they would warranty the waders but they dont have any more of them so they credited me $250, Everything sold out in standard sizes. 2 months later I talk to Simms they have the G4Z Pros, $850...what the hell...I say lets do it....then I'm told to wait another 2 weeks...just got the call from them today to collect my money then after they tell me the waders are in and will be mailed out next week..its Tuesday. This is their las chance then its off to Patagonia.
Brands are having a hard time stocking and dealing with returns during COVID but that's not much of an excuse in this situation. Sorry to hear about that. We've not had an issue with Simms warranty yet and haven't had to use it yet either🤞
We have tested almost all of these waders except for the dark lightning. It’s hard to get new footage wearing them currently as we are in different parts of the world and unable to travel. Please see our individual reviews for actual gear reviews. This list doesn’t claim to be a review.
@@SamuelPulis Thanks for the comment! This is a list of the gear and yes, we've used the products in question. We have individual "Reviews" that are hands-on for products if you'd like to see them you can check out the channel. To me, a review is an in-depth look at one product (as you'll see by our very detailed hands on reviews). This is a list of many.
@@intoflyfishing great video and exactly what I was looking for as I look for my first pair. Idk why that dudes giving you a hard time. Thanks for putting out the useful, informative content
It’s coming! There are A LOT of these out there so it takes a while to get our hands on enough to do a proper list. Out of our team we have quite a few higher end packs and vests but I may just order a few of the cheaper models to be sure that all prices get a fair shake.
Definitely Patagonia. Simms waders leak most the time. Simms screwed me big time. Brand new 525.00 waders leak. They did not swap them out. Had to send in new waders for repair. @@billpeirce7127 My Patagonia leaked in season 2 of light use. Quality has gone done on all waders the last 20 years if you ask me. Had a pair of Simms "Guide" Waders back in the day - didn't leak for almost a decade.
G3 waders are insane! They are so lightweight and seem durable even though extremely thin. Will be put through steelhead season this fall and will come back if they have faults and post again. However the first few tries and initial impression have been impressive and well worth the money. Simms has always done right. Simms jackets, performance sweatshirt, shirts, gloves and mid layers are amazing, comfortable and warm/cool when needed. I won't buy much else for fishing clothing. G3's are freestones but on roids and fit is more streamline. Streamline in deep water is important and I won't sacrifice in that area. Bunching is no good in the deep water...
Thanks for this info, especially for including the more affordable options.
Glad it was helpful!
Redington Palix Waders don’t exist anymore. It’s been replaced by the Escape Wader family, has been since about 2019.

I'd drive to headquarters for that kind of money.
How is this a 2023 buyer's guide if the video was released in 2021?
I’ve always found that the ones that don’t leak are usually the best..😅

It seems like you should actually BUY the waders and then review.

@@intoflyfishing The title says 'best' and in the beginning of the video you say that you rate them based on certain criteria. Isn't that a review?

@@dzank9354 thanks a lot Dan! It’s hard to make everyone happy but we are doing our best with hands on reviews and buyers guides on this channel 👍
I'd wear em
Frogg Togg hellbender waders are the best for the price if you ask me.
Do you have a series like this for fly vests or packs?

Why ya'll call it a 2023 buyers guide but posted it in 2021?
Working on updating these. 90-% of these waders will still be on the 2023 list so giving preference to faster changing products for new lists.
