It's so cool to see those OG Gore-Tex waders next to the G4Z. Seeing all those hard working American's makes me so proud to wear Simms waders. Thanks for taking time to tell this story!
Maybe Simms will actually see this comment: your quality is inconsistent and not worth the money nor trouble of sending in for repairs (since repairs take months anyway). Not just from personal experience, but the experience of many anglers I know. If you're going to scale up production, then you'll also have to scale your quality control and repair services. Or just step up the quality so you don't have so many repairs coming in.... How come I can have a pair of tributaries last me 2+ years, but in the last year I've had to repair/replace freestones, guide classics, and G4Z? How come my buddy got a pair of the newly designed freestones and they leaked after a half day of fishing? Regardless, thanks FFF for putting out these videos, I love seeing the nitty gritty BTS of where our products come from!
Good on you for that comment, I couldn’t agree more, boots that fall apart, waders that leak almost from the start…..I will agree the front and back seams are an improvement but why did it take so long?
We stopped by a couple years ago and visited the fly shop. I felt like I was home. I love Simms waders and will always be a customer. No better wader out there!
This is the sort of content that UA-cam was created for - and why UA-cam is such a great medium for sharing stories - behind the scenes of one of the companies that is the backbone of our flyfishing industry - with access that only a special guy like Cheech can organise - thanks for taking us along on such a fascinating behind the scenes journey - it was clear to see how proud all employees were of the products that they were creating - now I understand why I have so many Simms products - loved it…
This is a really cool video. Thank you to you guys & the Simms staff. This makes me want to visit their facility. As well as buy their waders, because I've never owned a pair of waders yet.
I have bought quite a few items from Simms, what I particularly like is the Guide boots I bought years ago phenomenally tough. All the best from the U.K.
have been one of the biggest Simms fans ever for over 10 years. Even my personal clothes from Simms took up the space. I can only say the best thing about Simms, I've never had a leak, no complaint or anything like that. Simply great, I even have Simms stickers on my car. A huge compliment to Simms, I stand by you and love you. Bravoo Simms.
This is a very good video guys. This is perhaps the best ad campaign for the waders. I'm thrilled that there are companies in the USA that are still making quality products.
@@pedrohenriques2983 Pedro. They are the best waders in the industry. Any wader will wear out due to lots of use, abuse, etc etc. Lots of people worried about out their merger, but not many understand what that means. At the end of the day, we have, and fish all brands and Simms is the best wader hands down.
@@FlyFishFood i do know they are the best but it’s 1300 Canadian in Toronto for the g4 Wen the days are short fall and winter I only fish on weekends but spring and Summer I go every day after work until it gets dark I will walk roughly 2 kilometers each day I’m getting an average of 60 to 70 times of use . For 250 waders
It's amazing how they actually make those waders, I got a pair of G-3, and they are by far the best waders I ever owned. Yeah, they cost, but so does everything these days. I remember those Red Balls that we used to wear; in winter, you are cold; in summer, you sweat. Eat Cheetos and drink Mountain Dew all day. Only Cheech can do that! For me, it was Jolt and Peanuts on that first flying job in Alaska, Bethel is the place, not!
I owned the first Freestones and just got a replacement set of the new ones. They’re significantly thinner than the old ones. Sad to see they’re cutting costs.
Hey bro. What type of simms wader bag is that in the end of the video. With the boots and waders and a roll up? Way cool. I’ve got The simms taco bag. But that’s was slick. I want one.
Happy to pay the premium for US made but let’s not automatically assume that means the BEST craftsmanship. The quality has gone down on the G3-4 line. I hope they return to the QC of the past.
Simms has insisted on filling their waders with seams and they only cause problems, the marketing does not give results. I have two G3s, cinder and shadow green, and they cause problems between the legs due to excess seams. The same does not happen with my G4 Pro Stockingfoot, it is not a wader, it is a battleship. Eliminating the G4 and wanting the G3 to take its position is a bad idea. We customers always look for the best at simms.
Man, sucks to hear. I still have my pair that I bought in 2009 that has never needed a repair. I've heard they're no longer making the same quality they used to.
Thanks for stopping by and giving everyone a look at what we're up to every day here in Bozeman!
if you all really wanted to innovate.. you could come up with a solution to wader farts
You've got some great staff there!
Excellent times in Bozeman!!!

Love simms gear. I have alot of it. But here in new zealand simms waders are out of my price range. Was really cool to see how they're made. Thankyou
That was great, thanks for sharing

Such a cool and interesting video plus cheech really is brilliant doing the interviews he makes everyone so comfortable .
2 wader manufactures in one town. How cool is that.
Awesome to see how they are put together. Interviews were fun to watch. Thank you!
Awesome. Thanks. Nice to see in depth how it's done. Especially when they come all the way down to Australia!
Thank you.
I switched to Patagonia this year. Tired of crappy warranty coverage and my G3s or 4s not lasting like they used to.
Well… the good news is you won’t have to change your handle 😬😬
@@FlyFishFoodzing. True that Patagonia is notorious for leaks?
Would like to see a Fishpond behind the scenes video.
They are right down the street from where I work. Pretty cool building.
Cool to see where my waders come from, I hope there will be an Umpqua video that would be cool to see
Very cool Video!! I was on the fence what waders I was going to buy my family but after this video it left no doubt on what brand I am buying!!
You won’t regret it. I have a few pair and nothing better than Simms. Comfortable, made for American sized people, and most of all they LAST.
Absolute brilliant video!
I appreciate my G4Zs even more!
Somebody needs to tell Simms to start making their waders like they used to before they sold. The new g4 don’t last half as long as the old ones.
How long did they last you ? How many days of use ? Long walks short walks ? I’ve being looking to buy ones for me . Should I buy them ? Thank you

Freakin awesome!!
Please show the part where they install leaks.

Thinner doesn’t mean worse. In many cases that’s better IF they don’t sacrifice quality.
