Oregon alum here. Since the Chip Kelly years, we love up-tempo shootouts. If OSU plays the same up-tempo downfield style they played vs Tennessee, this is right in our wheelhouse, and it will be a barn burner of a game. As #1 for most of the season, Oregon took the best shot from every team we played. Looking forward to this one. We have Tez back, and we have Burch back. *GO BIG GREEN*
Actually u didn't take OSU'S best shot. U did give them your best shot in that game with the onside kick and the 12 men on the field to start.OSU made too many mistakes in that game and you guys barely won. Now i understand that u didn't have your defensive end in that game and i believe we lost our left tackle in the first quarter of that game for the year so i believe it will be a great game but i have to say that If OSU comes out with their best shot against your best shot OSU wins by 10 at least.
You got a TD that should never have happened. Pass was intercepted and they gave the possession to OSU. You had a unwarranted gift.
@@christopherphillips9727osu absolutely gave Oregon their best shot don’t be foolish.
@@christopherphillips9727you're not being honest with yourself. Enjoy watching the screws tighten...
@@alg678 wouldn’t consider that game OSU’s best shot. (Played very timid and didn’t take and risks unlike Oregon). pending on d-line play, this game could very well come down to Knowles adjustments to explosive plays which they will make. Take away the dumb deep balls and OSU wins easily
The oregon disrespect is crazy. People forget how many points Oregon left on the table in that game. Not to mention the interception that they didn’t get. That lead to an Ohio State touchdown.
OSU needs to hold Oregon under 25 points to win it. They won’t.
Must have forgot OSU should have had a chip shot to win the game. You take away the deep balls and onside kick and the ducks get handled at home. We all know how this story ends for the ducks in the playoffs. Getting shot down like a skeet shoot. 42-28 BUCKS
@ you’re talking about take away the deep ball everybody this year has been going deep on Denzel Burke .. and a 40 plus yard field goal is not a chip shot … did you not watch the game? Oregon had more rushing yards more passing yards held Ohio State to his worst third down conversion of the season even worse than the Michigan game. One touchdown Drive that they didn’t get an interception that wasn’t an interception and two other touchdown drives that were aided by penalties on third and long. Ohio State didn’t manhandle anything.
@@benjaminirwin683 word, this guy is a clown
I don't understand the media hype against Oregon. I see a great game
Oregon is basically everything Tennessee thought they were. Oregon has a real defensive line and real threats out wide and a real quarterback who can throw, run, and remain in control of the situation. I have faith in the Buckeyes to get it done but I can't foresee this game not being back and forth and down to the wire.
YEAH, those ncaa rankings on their offense and defense were so fake... tell me why do you think Tennessee is ranked HIGHER Tennesse ranked AHEAD of Orgeon in scoring defense, rushing defense, Pass defense, Total defense... I mean shoot explain that for me???
@robschaller9061 ~ Ohio State had the #1 defense in the country and Oregon torched them. Michigan had a highly ranked defense and Oregon torched them.... Penn State had a top 10 defense in the country and Oregon torched them....
@@robschaller9061 I don't care what the stats say I know what I saw in both games. All those fancy stats got Tennessee one of the biggest whoopings of the year while Oregon's numbers got them a W. I guess that's called Scoreboard boyee
@@NIKE-DuckOregon didn’t torch nobody 🤡
@NIKE-Duck OSU didn't have the number 1 defense when them and your ducks played the first time around. The defense had to evolve and it looks like they are doing it. I believe it's going to be a great game. OSU wins 30-20
I wiil take oregon with a healthy Burch
This is the first time out of the different sports analysts that someone mentions Oregons defensive line and quick 295 pound defensive end Jordan Burch. I’ve watched a bunch and no one had mentioned this. This is why I’ve become so critical of sports guys because they seem to feed off each other each others opinions. Seems like everyone just mails it in. Think about it, a week ago everyone was hating on Ohio State. Now they’ve come through and now they are the best. There is almost no common sense with most sports casters. You guys are the only guys talking about the defensive line. Everyone’s saying Oregons an offensive team. That’s lazy. Congrats you guys actually look at things objectively. Oregon will win this game and people are going to be surprised when they win it handily. Sounds crazy but I see this coming from a mile away. It’s going to be a surprise for most.
OSU 38 Oregon 23
@robschaller9061 i don't think so Oregon 44 ohio state 21 easy work for the ducks ohio state dbs suck.
@@robschaller9061 Ducks by 20. Keep huffing those Ryan Day farts

@@robschaller9061 obviously I don’t agree but I will say that I think that Michigan got better as the year wore on.
Ducks' Burch is back, and 2 starting OSU OL are out.
zero sacks burch in the penn state game?
@@ryanjung9912if a receiver pulls the safety over every play, did he do his job?
"Lets not forget in the first meeting if Will Howard doesn't lose track of time Ohio state wins the game." No, Ohio state would be able to line up for a 43 yard FG for the OPPORTUNITY to win the game. Amazing how many pundits seem to forget that major point.
Yeah all these guys just assume the kicker was going to nail a 43 yarder with that type of pressure. Bad snap a block. Far from winning the game if he slides in time!!
In the next breath they tell us they don’t have a kicker
Fielding would have missed the kick.
OSU missed 2 FGs against UM
Lets not forget the piss poor call by the ref when OR came up with the ball and the lowhio st guy didn't have control of the ball when he hit the ground and the ball never hit the ground. Ball should have been OR not lowhio's. So take 7 pts off lowhio's score.
Not losing track of time doesn’t mean Ohio State would have beaten Oregon!
I agree. No one knows what would have happened. Ohio State had made several mistakes throughout the game. I do believe both teams are better now than then. Neutral opinion is Ohio State has a better Defense. A generational talent in Smith, solid first round quality in Ebuka. An edge in RB with Judkins and Henderson. However, the position that makes it all count QB Oregon has the advantage. If Howard can duplicate his performance against Tennessee, then no one is going to beat them. However, this is unlikely. But even a solid performance, no Int ..With that D?? The difficulty in beating a top quality team twice?? I used to live in Beaverton Oregon for a while. My heart say Oregon but my wallet says Ohio State.
If he would’ve gotten down in time, they’d of kicked the field goal. I hear they have a solid kicker… Go Blue!
It's ridiculous how people look at one play from that last game and say, that won't happen next time, so we win. Oregon left many points on the table. The refs gifted OSU 7 points by nullifying a clear interception. But of course this won't be an Oregon home game. There's some good analysis in these comments. OSU may have a (slight) roster edge in many aspects, but that's all erased by Oregon's advantage at QB. A lot will come down to how Howard handles the moment. He was a disaster v Michigan, great v Tennessee. Which Howard shows up? OSU will need him at his best to win this one. I don't know if they get it. Burke is back, Oregon's gonna get some pressure on him. These are the 2 best teams. It's at the Rose Bowl. Should be a great game.
@@rodrigok1220 I was embarrassed for Fielding after that 58 yard attempt 😭 missing a couple is one thing, putting that on film is a career ender
Buckeyes are peaking... Ducks look like they are going the other direction..If the Buckeyes defense is even close to how they've been playing lately, Buckeyes will win. This won't be Autzen stadium...
In a game with two teams as great as these two, it comes down to QB play in my eyes. And advantage in that realm goes to Dillon Gabriel, and there’s no doubt about that. Dillon Gabriel will be the X factor, and I think it’s likely the ducks win.
Your X factor is being dominated. LOL
OSU fan here and I think this game will truly be a 50/50 toss-up game. I think any fan who genuinely thinks their team has an overall advantage in this game is delusional. Excited for a rematch. I hope both teams bring their A-game.
*Go Bucks*
I am a duck fan and you are 100 percent correct. This literally could go any number of ways. If they played 10 times I could see them splitting the 10 games.
Absolutely right. This one is way too difficult to predict!!!!
Definitely no overall advantage. Maybe a very very slight Oregon advantage, and I think that mainly comes from the difference between Will Howard and Dillon Gabriel. DG is battle tested in huge games. The dude just doesn’t miss in big moments it seems. Will Howard has been very shaky when there’s lots of pressure. Could have a massive impact
Oregon should win this game. Better coaching staff and will make more big plays when it matters. Oregon 35 OSU 24.
I don't think you can assume the OSU kicker makes a 40+ yard FG to win it. As an Oregon fan, I'm not sure how this will go. I have confidence knowing Oregon won the first one and they didn't play a perfect game to do it either. That sad, Jeremiah Smith is a dude. I don't think Oregon will play as much man against OSU, but he can wreck a game. I think this will be a close one. Using that logic, I think Oregon has the edge in kicking, coaching, and QB play. Those are the things that can decide close one's. I think this is a one score game and this is the championship game.
Look, the teams are basically matched in terms of talent, so it will come down to the coaching, and ill take Lanning and Co over Day, every damn time.
Dan tends to spot other teams by a few pts per game
Ohio State played against Tennessee. Of course they are going to play well, but that doesn’t mean they will play the same way with Oregon. Will it be a great game to watch? YES!!!
Go look at the stats from the last game it's practically all even that's why it was a one point game hopefully we can make one more play this game teams are even
This game will be close. Offense & defense is a toss-up. The difference will be special teams, coaching & turn overs (advantage Ducks). Oregon might be the new Michigan, 3 wins in a row against the Bucks? I hope it comes down to the wire like the last thriller. It's gonna be a great game for the fans of both teams!
Great segment! I will add as much as Oregons defense struggled against good teams, Ohio State's offense has struggled against good defenses. They have been held below 21 on 3 occasions in the 2nd half of the season. Tennessee looked so slow on defense it wasn't even funny. Oregon has the dudes to match Ohio States speed.
Yes you do but ohiostate didn't struggle again the ducks nor did the ducks stats are practically even last game
@frankpropri540 I agree these teams are very even. I am giving the Ducks the edge because they are healthy (no injured trench players) and they had 3 weeks to prep.
@jefferylorsung8846 I can see your point can't say your wrong are defense will be alot better this game and like the first game who ever loses the turn overs game is going to lose its that close also ohio state had shit load of penalties if we can cut it in half I feel good about are team
@frankpropri540 as you should! These are both elite rosters. There is no massive talent gap. All these fans calling for blowouts are crazy. I mean sure it could happen but it's an even matchup and I am excited to watch it. I think it's the top 2 teams in the country.
@@jefferylorsung8846 I just hope there's no really really bad call by the refs that changes the outcome but if there is will live with it either way good luck may the best team win !
I cannot fathom why Ohio State is the favorite in this game:
• Head to head loss
• Lost to Michigan at home, who Oregon beat away
• Has to travel across the country while Oregon has an easier trip
• Offensive line battling injuries while Oregon has a healthy DL (which wasn’t 100% in week 6)
• Hyping up the Tennessee win against a Freshman QB and no WRs
• The obvious one, Oregon is the only undefeated team left
Teams are as even as it gets
one of the better analysis out there. it will be tough for either team to stop the other defensively. I think it will come down to mistakes and maybe even a bit of luck. I like that they didnt discount oregon like so many have. ohio st played really well last week, but oregon is different
Unreal. How do we not address the elephant in the room. Only 1 guy did. These teams played once this year. Oregon won by 1 at home. This is a neutral site game. Odds favor Ohio State. Pretty simple. It's not Oregon disrespect, it's facts. Oregon plays Ohio state's schedule, they lose 1 or 2 as well. These teams are very similar. Ohio State just has better players.
What games would they have lost if they played OSU’s schedule? They played the same teams except Indiana and Iowa who Oregon would have smoked. Lazy take
@michaelkurywchak9409 If they had to play the same teams in the same order I believe they would have dropped a game. Oregon played a weak schedule compared to Ohio State.
Pretty simple…your record says who you are…2 loss team
Ohio st schedule? Omg you sounds like a sec fan but dumber!!!
@@danielcantrell9227records mean nothing once you make the playoffs buddy. Oregon can have a better record while the buckeyes advance
The offensive pass interference call was a much bigger setback than “losing track of time”
Look, everyone keeps saying it’s hard to beat a team twice (which is very true) however what’s beneficial to this team is what most of the starters learned last year. Losing to Washington when they had the game and to meet them again in the pac 12 championship just to get blasted in the first half and lose the game. I’m sure they’ll be dialed in and know what it takes to beat a team twice. The thing that concerns me is Ohio state is warmed up already, so hopefully the three weeks proved much needed development, and rest.
It's true OSU could have won with better game management at the end, however, don't forget Oregon had a pick that ended up as a TD (Due to a missed call) for Ohio State that could have led to an 8 point win instead of a 1 point win
Not really. That kicker for OSU is awful. Couldn’t even make a 25 yard kick at home.
If bulls had udders, they would be cows -but they aren't.
How is Ohio St going to Beat Oregon? They cant even beat a sorry Michigan team.
...bro doesn't have eyes
As a ducks fan you are being sarcastic or you are dilusional
This is what happens when the media portrays a rivalry game as an end all be all. You get delusional casuals thinking one game defines a team

Oregon passing game is better than Ohio States passing game

Look at the stats to the last game it's practically even !!!!!
OR BEATS lowhio by at least Two TD's and shows why that losing lowhio st team should not have even been in the playoff.

It’s about the field goal kicker. He is 83 percent from 40 to 49 yards. The field goal kicker is 50 percent from 30 to 39. Five of Ryan Days ten losses are wins with a good field goal kicker. Two of those games were this year. If Day had kicked a field goal he would have won. It would have been from 40 a 49 yards out. I bet Ryan didn’t k ow that.
How about the free TD you got in the 1st qtr.? Oregon intercepted but the ref gave him a reception. Don't pretend it didn't happen.

Finally a good analysis of the Rose Bowl. This is the first time in a week where someone has predicted something other than a blowout
Who is predicting a blowout? I havent seen any serious analysts predicting that.
@ I have watched over a 100 podcasts this week. Multiple media outlets are predicting the Defense for Oregon can’t stop the OSU offense and they will win by 10
@@AzMurse Even Josh Pate predicts Oregon by a slim margin. Find better podcasts lol.
@@AzMurse For the record, I'm an OSU Grad and live in Columbus. None of my buddies think this will be an easy game. We think OSU CAN win, but that it will be a battle and a slug fest, similar to last time they played.
@ Most of the major media are saying it will be a 10 to 14 point game fro OSU. Dan Lanning has only lost 1 game by more than 3 points as a head coach except the blowout against Georgia his first game at Oregon
If Ohio state can bring that physicality and lockdown the WRS it’s ov. Coaching and key decisions will be the decider
Oregon alum/fan here. Why football isn't math. If a > b and b > c, then a > c. Always true in math, but not in football. Setting aside that Oregon already (narrowly) beat tOSU, since Oregon beat Michigan (handily) and Michigan beat tOSU, Oregon should beat tOSU again, right? Math might suggest it, but football ain't math. On an overall team to team basis, neither team can out-athlete the other team. I think this game comes down to coaching. I also think it is effectively the championship game. Go Ducks.
What difference did Jordan Birch make against Penn State.....297 rushing yards?
He is a pass rusher not a run stopper
Ryan coaches scared.
4:25 "the defenses just dont have a prayer"
Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant say "Hi!" :)
42-28 Ducks!!!🦆
I know it Sucks.
The Ducks beat the
Bucks! 🎯
If Ohio state would have had more time they would have won, plus if oregon would have fumbled the ball a couple times that would have helped, also if oregon would have scored less points that as well and le t s not forget if Ohio state scored more points they would have won as well, so ya Ohio state is better.
If bulls had udders, they would be cows -but they aren't.
Ohio State's defense clamps down this time around. The defensive line gets home more often, thanks to disguised blitz packages and different coverage looks. The OSU secondary hasn't given up a passing touchdown since playing Oregon last time. That's 30 quarters without allowing a passing touchdown! On a neutral field? Burning with vengeance? Coming in hot with momentum from the Tennessee beatdown? Give me the Buckeyes. By two touchdowns.
This
Oregon 34 - Ohio State 32
Ohio state would have had an opportunity to kick a field goal for the win. They had that opportunity against Michigan too and it didn’t work out that well.
But you were alresdy given a free 7 points In the 1st qtr on the Oregon interception that the ref gave a reception. Ohio State fans and pundits are very quiet on that.
and uo got the benefit of a short field (15 yd line?) via a fumble for a td. and uo took advantage of a penalty loophole, getting to burn precious seconds at the end of the game, a loophole judged as unfair enough that the rule was actually changed before the next week’s games were played. would tosu have won otherwise? Nobody knows. It was a great game (and a great 1st trip to Eugene for me) but both teams had unfortunate breaks in the game. How about you remembering that? ;)
OhSt only looked good because the Vols sold HARD. Different story against the Ducks
What does that even mean? Ohio state beat the crap out of them let’s say it how it is. But you’re right Oregon will be a different animal

As long as Ohio st coaches don’t screw up the scheme this is a straight matchup game. Whoever team executes the best will win. Obviously but it’s not always the case, sometimes scheme is super important but this is not that, it’s whoever players play discipline, not running up the field, setting up loops and schemes, not getting flat footed, wr making hard plays, OL and DL battles with technique. This is football game is a culture game cause it’s gonna put to test everything done by the players in the offseason and regular season and playoffs(B10 chip and rivalry games included)
You guys make it sound so easy… “just stop egbuka and Smith.” You think Tennessee didn’t game plan that? That’s the exact issue.. key in too close on one player, we’ll beat you with the other 6 five star recruits we have. Oregons offensive line didnt hold off pressure lol. Ohio state wasnt sending pressure...they played cage defense all year and opened up the pressure scheme against Tennessee.
OSU is a different defense schematically since the first Oregon game and Day is finally letting Knowles run the stuff he ran at Okie State. How much better they can be this time around will be the difference between winning or losing.
Game can go either way by 10..but mid west bias and love for Ohio state is classic the record says who you are!!!!!!
Ohio State is very hard to predict because if they have better talent, they blow the doors off their opponent (even if they only have slightly better talent). However, they do not play great against equal or better talent (and they only play 1 or 2 games like this a year). This leads to the apparent Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde performances.
Dan Lanning is a superior head coach versus Ryan Day. Just on that basis alone, Oregon wins.
One major factor no one is talking about is OSU won't have to deal with the crowd noise. It was a HUGE difference in the first game
I heard Oregon has bought 80 % of the tickets. That seems like a lot of noise
Buckeyes had 10 pre-snap penalties. Autzen is a difficult place for the visiting team to play, widely acknowledged.

What's ironic Oregon could have lost two games and beat Ohio State and Wisconsin by a combined margin of 4 points, and Ohio State could have won their two games and lost to Oregon and Michigan by a combined margin of 4 points.
And Ohio State also only beat Penn State and especially Nebraska because of ridiculous officiating, so let's keep that in mind.
~ But they didn't....... That's a championship mentality. That's the slight difference in teams that come through in the end
@aaronrider4051 Huh , ridiculous officiating, what heck are you talking about 🙄
@NIKE-Duck Only the reason they lost the first time, is be of questionable penalty call on Jeremiah Smith, and they ran out of time.
Oregon defensive ain’t better then most sec defense so stop 🧢
It was a one point game at Oregon. Only one team has made serious improvements since that game.
And where did the Oregon D go?
This right here.
21-17 was a serious improvement? 13-10 was a serious improvement? 20-13 was a serious improvement? Penn State literally wins that game if James Franklin doesn’t call the same 3 bone head plays in a row
Well they won every game, no let up on their rivalry game over the Huskies. Buckeyes got punched out by an average Michigan team😢
OSU made schematic improvements on the D line. They're getting more pressure
OSU couldn’t block Oregon with their starting lineman. Oregon gets their best DL back and OSU has lost 2 starters. You do the math
I think we seen this movie before OSU 42-20
lol
OU 34 OSU 30 going to be a great game
OSU will defeat Oregon by 7+...if they don't I will donate $200 to a charity of your choice
Ohio state hasn’t given up a passing TD in 30 quarters
They haven't played any offense close to Oregon in that span. They gave up several in one game to oregon which isn't a coincidence.
There are no gimmes for the Ohio State kicker. They may have still lost with a FG try.
Who is the third guy who spoke? It’s obvious he doesn’t watch Ohio State. Oregon may win, but it’s not based on what he said.
tOSU 48, Oregon 17.
Well, you can dream
@@Jleed989 WTF were you saying? Come out and tell me if you still think this is a dream. I was generous when I gave Oregon 17 points. Oregon is not elite, has never been elite, and always chokes when they face true blue bloods. Oregon has been playing football since 1894 (that is 131 years ago), yet they only achieved a 10-win season for the first time in the year 2000. Oregon is not among the elite; you're capable of punching above your weight and play against the big boys but when it reaches the biggest stage, you always fall apart.
Bucks 38-10
Danny is just a Ohio State hater no period.. Florida State sucks this year ..Charlie Ward on ain't playing anymore 😅😅
Same people that said Tennessee’s D-line matched up well? Give me Buckeyes over -2.5 and then some
They will more than cover
Tennessee was a fraud that didn't belong in the playoff AT ALL.
Facts, like Tenn defensive front 7 is better then Oregons
Oregon gave up 300 rushing to Penn state and 200 too jeanty alone….i don’t see why they continue to overhype these defenses. Oregons offense is what saves them, OSU hasn’t even given up a passing Td Since October 12
@@raphaelturner1963 love coming back to this. Thank you fellas
@@tjreed9843 did them boys dirty 😆
41-34🦆🦆🦆🦆
I will be very surprised if oregon puts up 41 points on ohio state's defense
@ i feel like the offense will score 30 something like last time but there will be a defensive or special teams score
@williammcbride4918 ohio state set back and didn't even try to blitz last time and gave oregon qb all day to throw but since saban called them out on gameday about not blitzing, they have blitzed teams a lot more so will see how much they blitz in this game
@craigwagner327 and those blitzes will open up receivers that DG will get rid of the ball in 2 seconds to. Just blitzing doesn't stop DG.
@DuckFanDownSouth we not going to blitz every time. Just some. We didn't hurry gabriel at all last game
Lets see if they ever call a holding call against Oregon. Theyve not been called for a single holding penalty on their line all year. BS. OSU also has only had 3 holding calls while on defense. The refs gotta call it better man. Dudes getting held constantly.
Ohio State fans complaining about officiating is .... something.
~ Let's see if the refs actually don't take away a clear Interception from the Ducks this time and gift Ohio State a TD...
@@NIKE-Duck that was 100% an interception. I won't even argue that one. Anyone who does is bias asf
Oregon’s defensive line has been held all year and barely gets called. It’s the reality of having a good defensive line, unfortunately.
well your boy Smith at wr pushes off almost EVERY TIME on his routes an never gets called. an I'm not talking about our earlier match up. that was the first time I saw him an. since then I've seen y'all plenty an he should've been called MANY times for opi.
Quite a low scoring game.. 27-24 Buckeyes
Ohio State's biggest stumbling block will be Ryan Day.
He will be out coached for sure.
The more I watch this podcast, the more I realize how idiotic these guys takes are. Is there any sports analyst out there with some basic common sense?
What takes do you take issue with?
Josh Pate. Joel Klatt. Greg McElroy. After that - just watch the games. That's enough content!
Dudes are no better than drunks babbling. OSU played 3 playoff teams and is still alive. Saban thinks rest rust is real, tackling. Check ur facts
The Ducks also played 3 playoff teams and is still alive, and are undefeated, by the way.
Buckeyes choke in a game that matters. OSUs defense will show up but the offense along with Chip “Shitbird” Kelly will throw this game! Mark my words. Will Howard will turn the ball over as he has done in the last few games and Oregon will take advantage of that! Gabriel will slice and dice OSU! Mark my words! Ducks win the Natty!
Lol tennaseeyoulater game didn't matter 😂ok
Yeah I’d subscribe but these are some stupid takes 😅🤯
Something that I don’t see anyone mentioning is how the first Oregon game was the “Michigan game” version of defensive game planning. We literally changed our defensive play calling for the rest of the season because of that game. We left Burke on an island with no safety help and didn’t blitz - actually dropped linemen into coverage. This is an Ohio State defense that’s going to be much more aggressive. We’ll see if the play calling is aggressive again on offense, but if it is, I think that’s a wrap for Oregon.
Hopefully chip owes somebody money this time 😂
Uncle Phil made him a offer he couldn’t refuse
