108 Camera will have a different camera driver, rooting and installing proper driver file may make it work.

programming is done on particular hardware so if you change it you must change its software also in order to callibrate 108mp camera.

As far as I know when you swap the cameras actually the depth camera (monochrome) starts to act as primary which is 2mp which explains 720p 30fps

@Mr.Ordinary I know this is a very late reply but anyways.
64 MP and 108 MP cameras use pixel binning aided by software. 64 MP cam uses quad binning (4 in 1) to an effective 16 MP and 108 MP uses nonapixel binning (9 in 1) to an effective 12 MP. When the camera are swapped, the drivers could not read the proper camera because it's programed to detect a 16mp binning.
Monochrome aka depth sensor though not always but actually does more than just take portrait shots, it is at times used for better detailing and sharpness of the photos by working alongside the main cam for normal shots too.
After swapping the camera sensors, the software drivers couldn't detect the primary 16mp cam but could detect the monochrome which actually was supposed to work along the main sensor.
Hence the monochrome image and since the monochrome sensor here is only 2 MP, it's limited to 720p 30 fps.

The black and white camera that you were seeing was not the main camera but the secondary depth sensor that is switched to by default

No bro it will work but without replacing some system/libs
Changing hardware doesn't mean that it would work definitely, both the sensors have two different softwares and processor is programmed according to the peripheral devices(camera, display, charging port,...etc) the same way lcd panel might not work when amoled is replaced.

Black and white iss liye aa raha tha kyuki woh apne wahan se filter ko normal nhi kiya. and yeah 64 mp camera k liye 64 mp ka camera software rehta h toh woh utne he details leta h agr usme km jyda hoga toh nhi chalega. normal camera se 16 or i don't know but same mp ka photo leta h koi se bhi cam se cam woh software normal camera mode se compress kr deta h i guess.

Sir apke pass itne sare dead phones hai wo toh last mein e waste ban jata hai but agar ap un phones ko repair karke giveaway karte ho toh accha hoga apke channel ke liye aur e waste bhi nahi hoga aur bahut sare garib log ko bhi giveaway ke dauran phones milega. Obviously sabhi ko toh repair karna impossible hai lekhin jo jo thori good condition mein hai unko ap repair kara sakte ho. It's just a suggestion

it is a software issue and maybe (hardware-procesor) i have redmi note 12 with snap 685, this procesor supports 108mpx camera) but if you are a good developer, you can fix it (change camera setting commands) and these cameras will work
