Here is a mother who not only fights with what she has, but as the challenges grew formidable in the way of getting back her children, she kept building her capacities. Her love for her children and her unshakable will power, saw her through to the end of this difficult battle. She fought her way through the legal system of a country where she had lost footing. Hats off to her heroism.

Can you confirm that the reasons given in trailer are real, that they are illegal, and therefore the reasons for barnevern to take custody?
Could you please confirm with an official website.

This is a stark different of journalism from that of Page3 ‘journalists’ aka Pinkvilla’s ‘journalists’

Sharon's quite right that it has been happening with the Indian immigrants very oftenly these days around the western countries really. B'coz this is not a single case that is being published in print media from Bengal whose child had been taken away by foreign government for the reason of improper maintenance of the ward. But without Government's intervention & assistance the restoration of child 's custody to the respective parents is impossible. How manies get favour from the Government & how much timely & legally that obviously cannot determine the lost child's parents genuineness to be a true Indian.

I dont know anything about swiss law, but what could be the reason for them taking custody? Its difficult to say if it was justified or not, without knowing more about the case.
Some parents just shouldnt have had kids, but if thats not the case here, and it had all been misinterpreted, then I am really sorry for them.

Thanks Barkha for your brilliant interview taken from both the reel & real life mothers exposing their strength of fight fought for custody of those children taken away by the Norway Child Care Agency & thatway how true patriot & humane a mother could be of 'Sagarika'.. But as an early viewer of the fillm picturised named 'Mrs. MUKhrji Vs Norway ' it has not been clear to me from the interview that despite racial & cultural desparities the Bengali moher 'Devika' had been allegedly reasoned for an ' unstable ' & 'unpredictable' mother & therefore losing the custody of her children ( as been depicted in the film- dialogues) etc. has not been answered by 'Sagarika' in the interview.

It is really a tragic incident and should not happen to any parent. It requires a great amount of courage to fight the system and win your rights.
It is definitely a great project.
At the same time, I would like to point out Mr Advani's comment, the producer @16:55 mins, that Indians within India just cross the road easily and fear to cross the road abroad and would wait for the signal to turn green. In my view everyone of us should fear to violate the rules irrespective of the country. "It is ok to not follow rules in India" is not an acceptable mindset.

Any Mother Who Sincerely Loves Her Children Would Do Same...
    However,
    In This Specific Case...
Assuming What I've Seen Is True....
Had India as a Nation Not Got Involved, She Most Likely Would Not Have Gotten Her Children Back...
I'm So Grateful & Thankful India as a Nation & Especially It's Political Figures In High Rank, Influence & Power Got Involved...
This may have occurred some time ago...
But Aside From Monetary Greed, It's Racial Bigotry & Hate Crime...
    They Say It's Cultural Differences...
Many, Countries Populations Feed Their Children By Hand & Parents & Families Also Eat With Their Hands...
Without Media Making This Visible To Puplic & India as Nation Not Getting Involved The Positive Outcome Would Not Have Happened...
And None of Us Would Have Heard About This Issue...

I cannot believe what she has gone through! She has given all her courage for getting her children back. Kudos to her and her courage. She needs to focus on herself as an empowered woman now. Sagarika, you should feel and say to others that you feel blessed for where you are now and you have lost nothing by losing that husband of yours who does not care about children. Do not feel that you are a powerless woman. I also think that her husband should be interviewed. Why did he not support her in her difficult journey? Do men have anything to learn from this story?

so disappoineted with Rani that she did not meet Sagrika until the movie was completed. Her performance would have been different I am sure if she had done her due dilligence ! Most actors outside of India do that to get a better and true understanding of the part they are going to play. Her not meeting Sagrika makes me think that she thinks too much of her self!!!

    • @ramannth
      @ramannth Рік тому

Correct, she thought by her acting she could make it looks as if it was her own story. And I don't know why Sagarika was so impressed that Rani played her role. In fact I felt Rani was over dramatic in many scenes in the movie. Maybe she was thinking if she acted in her own style, she can claim all credit for her acting if she was given an award for her acting. I fi had been Sagarika i would have wanted being consulted in every aspect of the film right from the actress to the way that actress portrayed my role in the film for it to look really authentic. It is no good taking Rani's mother as an inspiration, and it has nothing to do with having a bengali accent, not being fluent in spoken English. Rani sounded very selfish. Sargarika is a very very strong woman, can never be compared to the likes of Rani mukerjee. But she is to innocent and broadminded in letting somebody else acting as if it had happened to them. I pray for all the parents and children living in those countries.

What kind of logic Nikhilji is giving? Here in India we cross the road without fear( I would say without caring for our as well as other's lives and traffic rules.) But in London we will be scared to until the green light is on. (Which would be the case in any civil society)
Is that a good thing to do? What culture are we bragging about?
And being scared of the law in a foreign land, you sounded very naive sir, there are multiple cases of child and women abuse done by desi family members in the UK.
We are very interested to disobey the law if no one is noticing. Only these kinds of 1 in a million cases come to light and we get crazy about how rules are bad and derogatory for our culture. For us the thought process is we do not accept such problems exist hence we do not create laws and rules to protect our children. Just look away from the fault in the name of culture and tradition.
The Mrs Chatterji issue became way more complicated partly because of her husband and his family. Foreign country foreign language and the cultural approach to deal a problem so serious, made it even more difficult to communicate and resolve it.

What the real story is god knows but.... I myself seen a woman who become mad after the government took away her child based on tiny issue which is common between every mother and their children. She was brought to pakistan for treatment she was very young and her case was pending too. If the story of the movie is not matched with a story of this woman but i can claim that this story matches the story of all those million mothers whom their children are taken away of them.
For your kind information, this is very common in europe to take away or abduct one's child sometimes based on very silly reason such as why did the child burn? Why u got angry on ur child?, and for such cruel act sweden, Norway, Denmark & UK are kind of well known their social workers are all the time destroying people lives in terms of divorcing between husband and wife or to separate their children of their parents because they get a higher pay for that so That's why in UK people are really cautious & afraid of social workers like any agency's secret agent.

Nikhil has not done enough research on the subject. Stop making this a patriotic or immigrant issue. Having lived in the west most of my life, several such cases come to light where social services intervene and children are taken away.
Director himself has not understood western culture and he's making it a race discrimination case!!! White Caucasian parents face the same issues. I would have happily watched this movie but after listening to Nikhil, it sounds like another typical bollywood melodrama just to appeal to mass Indian audience. No thanks!

Hope people are not like sheep, just following whoever is in media a that time. Hope people are able to do their own thing. Check out for themselves.
Yes Rani Mukherjee is a great actress. Rest are probably good too. But it's not about the cast.
I have said in multiple posts on multiple UA-cam videos, that there is more to the story than what appears. It can't be about cultural differences. Especially since the reasons mentioned in the trailer. They are NOT prohibited. Those are NOT against the law. Even here people do everything that is said to be the reason behind state custody.
This is nothing more than one-sided story from mothers point of view. Right or wrong.
They portrayed Norway to be a child kidnappers. They portrayed father to be the abuser. Did the producers actually contact the government to get their point of view? Did they contact the father to ask his side.
No, they haven't. Father says nobody contacted him. I am saying that nobody, my commen sense says so, contacted Norwegian officials. Why I say that? Because if they had asked, they would have been told that these reasons aren't the reasons, because these reasons are not illegal in Norway. They would NEVER commented on this particular case, because of the confidentiality clause, but they would have given a comment generally about the rules.
This has to be a case of something more than a cultural differences.
This video from ten yrs back, prove my point.
Pls watch until the end. It's originally about another parents loosing their kids, in Norway. These are Indians too. It happened ten years ago.
    Pls folks. Watch it.
    ua-cam.com/video/jRDCN-bC4U0/v-deo.html
They should never have "attacked" a tiny nation of five million people, and made the father a villain and abuser, based on one persons version. Even if barnevern was right and father is right. None of them will be able to "fight" against hundreds of millions around the world, who WILL see this as the ultimate truth.
I am indian mother in Norway. I personally am ashamed, of Indian Bollywood cinema. I have always believed that Bollywood movies are just whatever that sells the movie. Where plot is sellable.
ONE MOTHER AGAINST A WHOLE NATION, is indeed a great story and maybe the next blockbuster. Too bad that it probably isn't the entire truth. Normal custody battles, is seen in every other movie. Nothing special. This is great story for the producers, so why would they stain it with facts.
Mother could be right, or wrong, I wouldn't know. I wasn't there. What I do know is that producers should have checked thoroughly, before writing the script.
    They should be ashamed.

Exactly! I saw the children in a video, they looked like educationally lagged and the son seems to be mentally retarded.. He couldn't utter a word in English by himself and was just repeating words of someone who was there behind the camera (the program was in English) which seems so odd considering his age.. Even on sagarika's facebook profile I could hardly find any photo of her son.. And only 2 or 3 posts with her daughter among so many posts of her.. I dont think it's normal..

      @@ric1666
Now that is something we can call cultural differences. People having their sleeping babies in pram outside of Cafe or their balcony at home, is normal. Nothing wrong with that. Babies are safe, they sleep better. I have never heard of any baby getting kidnapped from outside. Normally people sit right by the window, and watching their babies. Babies are safe here. If babies wake up, they are taken in, they don't have crying awaken baby, outside in pram. That is something people outside of Norway would never understand. I personally don't. I like to have my babies near me. That is cultural differences.
People in Norway tend to not understand the concept of arranged marriages. Some accepts it as a cultural thing, but for others arranged marriages are equal to forced marriages. That is not true. Arranged marriages are arranged marriages, and forced marriages are arranged marriages that are forced. That is cultural differences.
So there are some aspects of foreign cultures, people don't understand, whether they are Indians or Norwegians.
I have yet to see the movie. My reaction is due to the trailer. There are no cultural difference in the reasons given. Even Norwegians Co-sleep, Hand-feed their babies. It's normal here that children have their own bed, but somehow they tend to end up with parents. My reaction is due to the fact there are hundreds of millions of people, from India and around the world, who are making big issue out of these "cultural differences". When there are none.
Personally I thought at that time that children should be able to go back to India. As indian I knew that a bit slapping for discipline is not that uncommon. Its not allowed in Norway, but that doesn't mean that parents are not fit to be parents. Let them go back. So I am happy for her.
My problem is the trailer. How much will I be able to believe in the movie, when trailer is false. Those reasons are not illegal.
      Just saying.

    • @Ms.P.Sharma
      @Ms.P.Sharma Рік тому +1

      Me being hypocrite? How?
You know I am indian mother, living in Norway for almost 40 yrs, and followed this case back then. Everything I know about is through media, as I reckon you too. I followed this case as it was happening, not now ten years later.
What is NOT through media is the knowledge of Norwegian laws, some I know, other I find out if need be.
I have NOT seen the movie YET. I will be seeing it and find out what else it will portray. One thing I know for SURE is that trailer itself is INACCURATE on main subjects. It doesn't matter what different UA-cam videos in support of the movie, will show. I have seen many videos, some i haven't. Seeing those videos will not affect the facts. Trailer is inaccurate on main points.
Part of the trailer that are true :
Yes they had their children taken away.
Yes, there was a court case
Yes, court gave custody to their uncle
      Yes, indian government was involved.
Maybe barnevern were too harsh, maybe they overreacted, maybe they were mistaken. I am saying MAYBE, because none of us were there. I don't know for sure, neither do you, unless you were in the courtroom that day, or have seen court verdict.
Part of the trailer that is not true:
No, Co-sleeping with your children is NOT against the law. Even Norwegian parents do that.
No, feeding them by hand is NOT against the law, even Norwegian parents do that.
No, using facepaint/tikka is NOT against the law. Even Norwegian children use them.
No, barnevern does NOT make money on children they allegedly "kidnap".
None of these are true, and can't be, NEVER EVER BE, the reasons for filing for custody.
You want to criticize Norwegian parenting or Norwegian culture, BE MY GUEST, but at least base it on FACTS. Parents love for their children is NOT any different in Norway, as it's in India. Parenting style can be different, but the underline is the same. It's based on culture and personal parenting style. Norwegian government does not interfere with personal choices. Health care professionals advice new parents, they give recommendations. They do NOT check if you are actually following them. As long as you don't do anything against the law. It's mandatory that you as parents are responsible for your childrens wellbeing. That you make sure that they are NOT physically, mentally, emotionally and se...ly, abused. Going to school is also mandatory.
I am not against the mother in question. I would like to believe that there was a big misunderstanding, and barnevern overreacted. I know it must have been devastating for parents. I am mother myself. I am against the movie. One thing is that mother wrote a book, the other is that producers make their script based on the book. Did they actually check anything out themselves, before making false allegations on main points.
I reckon you know how to Google, right? GOOGLE IT. Check out if above mentioned things are infact prohibited.

Since you claim to be living in Norway for long and since you mentioned welfare ppl did take away the children from parents; don’t you think it’s inhuman and reason enough to be hate Norway welfare policies. Parents can be warned or punished for disciplining their children aggressively. But forcefully taking away children is no way justified. Am not bothered about movie and want to check the real story. Happy to know that you are safe and sound in Norway!

This is a mother's point of view. It is how she perceived her plight. Norway must be doing good. But unfortunately it happened to Sagarika. We have to accept it instead of being judgemental.
