  • It’s been a slow summer for finding the artifacts, but the footprints are plentiful! Every now and then I’ll have a score that was looked over by someone else. I’ve been doing a lot of exploring adding to the number of places I try to visit regularly, some of which I’m excited to see what they will produce over the years to come! The finds in this video are some of my finds from July / August. Things have been picking up here lately, so more videos are on the way! One recent find will be a real head scratcher for everyone in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe to keep up with all the upcoming finds!

      Haha i get it! I used to be a big time fisherman… artifacts have slowly taken the reigns over as my favorite pass time activity though! What was so incredible about that blade is that it was sticking out like that, clearly visible to anyone who walks by, and it was in one of the more heavily hunted areas around. How it was missed for so long is beyond me! Thanks again buddy!

  • @scottnock5241

    Just crazy as usual!! The stick saves an archaic killer for ya!!! I mean right!! And a small Madison in a mess of roots and of course it was white…. Loved that end scraper too!!! And yeah I find em sticking straight out of the wall like that all the time too!!! Insane material on that blade too!!
    I have been digging this woods site off n on for almost a year now, finally two weeks ago found my first full point.. And I love em all but it was the most crude point you could find out of the worst ryolite you can find!!! That’s my luck brother!!! The flakes are better than this piece. And there isn’t any ryolite anywhere around me??? But I’m going to keep at it and think of you tripping over killers every day!!!! Lol

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks again buddy! That takes some serious dedication to dig. It’s beyond hard work… mentally especially if it doesn’t produce regularly. That wild about the crude piece you finally found though! Haha I think you’re being tested by a higher power with that artifact… seeing if you’ll give up or not! Next time you get out there you’ll probably uncover that cache that’s been waiting 6k years for you to find it!

    • @scottnock5241
      @scottnock5241 2 роки тому

      @@Points365 actually we found 3 blades broken, my buddy keeps saying it’s a cache site!! We dated it to Adena. From what I can tell I think it’s untouched?? So.. it could be crazy.. the material is really shallow to in the surface.. So I’m up there at night mostly with my sifter.. I bring all the dirt out with me too in a trailer, I sift over a trailer. @Points365  2 роки тому

      Haha it took me about a month or so to find everything in this video. I don’t have days with that many artifacts very much anymore. Competition is getting crazy out here! Where I found those coins, I believe was an old homestead. I see classic signs of it like broken jars / bottles, horseshoes, nails, etc.. I take my detector out there about once a year. I’ll find a few coins each time. Mostly Indian head and wheat penny’s. Every now and then I’ll score a V nickel or barber dime, but it’s not common. I might have to start detecting more since everyone around here these days seems to be hunting arrowheads! Haha

      Thanks man! But for sure.. a culture that we know so little about as well. That’s the wild part. We just try to piece together their history by the remnants left behind, most of which people can only speculate about. They were definitely talented in the art of survival though! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

    As usual a fine bunch of points . When you pulled the little triangle point out of the roots and looked it over , it looked like the notches of a buzzard roost below your hand still back up in under the roots .
    I know the old dry leaves and debris can trip any one up but , more than a few times a leaf I doubled back and checked became a point I pulled out .

    • @Points365
      @Points365  Рік тому

      Thanks man! But if that was another point in those roots, hopefully it’ll be there on my next trip there, because I sure didn’t notice it! I hear ya on the leaves though… if I had a nickel for every time I thought there was a pine tree laying out on the bank waiting on me, just for it to be a leaf! Haha this time of year it’s nonstop and brutal!

    • @Points365

      Someone on here thought it a benton blade. That particular spot produces late archaic to paleo, so who knows?! It sure looks like a flute on it, but it’s probably wishful thinking causing me to see that! Haha

      That also looks like a Benton blade. It just has a really nice big thinning strike. The flaking is definitely middle-late archaic. Not paleo
